We were greeted by a big smiling face that seemed genuinely happy to see us, and made us feel at ease as if we were long lost relatives. What a welcoming experience for our first time here. Mike's is an old school Italian deli, with quite a few breakfast specials that are incredibly priced. For example, how about an egg on a roll for $3.25 or hash browns for a buck? Hell, the most expensive breakfast item on their entire menu is $9.50 for three eggs, home fries, toast and breakfast meat! After breakfast, you can function on lunch because Mike's offers plenty of hot and cold sandwiches, hot and cold sides, paninis, salads, soups and Italian lunches and dinners. The most expensive thing on the entire menu is a Chicken Parmigiano dinner for $15.95. We ordered some food to go, and we walked out with a bag and box of food for $34.24 after tax. Our order included a Ham and Cheese on a roll ($9.25), Ziti with Chicken Parmigiano Lunch ($10.95), fresh Garden Salad ($9.95), and two chocolate chip cookies ($2). As we were waiting for the food, we witnessed a parade of lunch customers coming in for their to-go orders. Many of the customers were obvious regulars and they were addressed by name by the staff. The proverbial icing on the cake wasn't a cake at all, but two chocolate chip cookies, made fresh every morning by Mike himself.
