It is also a perfect winery for larger groups as they have an indoor and outdoor tasting area. This place is just beautiful. We sat on the porch looking out over the vineyard like we were in the Alexander Valley. Honestly, we have done the North Fork trail more but will now be a SOFO family as well. Helene and I both enjoy a good Chardonnay and "Wolffer's Pearl" is great, A chard with tremendous body and depth. We had the honor of being on a European Wine Cruise with the wine maker. Roman Roth [and his wife]. He had multiple wine dinners where we had an opportunity to try some of these new red and white wines and really took a liking to them. We joined their wine club as soon as we returned home so we'll have more to enjoy during the year. Let me be honest... I have been drinking and collecting Roman Roth wines for years now and have always enjoyed them. The team that took care of us was amazing. Nothing but smiles and service. We were very lucky to have the opportunity to experience this wonderful visit. The only downside is that the drive from mid-island to the Hamptons can get a little long. This was a small price to pay for the wonderful experience we had. KUDOs to the team at Wolffer Estate Vineyard

While it appears there's a pretty steady repertoire of plays that circle through the place, I had the fortunate experience of attending one of Nancy Atlas' Fireside Sessions. I literally had no idea what to expect, but the set list was filled with classics that you could either singalong with or get up and dance to. Would definitely recommend watching something at the theater if you have a chance!

What made it just a little more special is that my wife knew and worked with him as a teenager. (Just a few year's ago.) We parked at the pier and were lucky that we caught someone just leaving. It's not easy on a nice Summer day between the locals and tourists. Once we entered the lobby, we looked around for a bit then went into the theater. A big semi circle of comfortable seating. No one is too far from the stage. Steven's show had a small cast and I could not think of a better to have seen this. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I can't comment about food since we did not have anything here. I am looking forward to coming back to enjoy the setting both inside and out. KUDOS to the team here at Bay Street Theater.

The powers that be have absolutely ruined this event. The vendor booths used to be laid out in an…read moreeasily walkable grid, and for many years, we truly enjoyed walking through it. Now, however (and beginning in 2021), the vendors who actually still sell at this event (and there were fewer this year and last) are spread out in a new and highly illogical street pattern which forces visitors to walk great distances in order to see what vendors are there. Last year, when we took the hike up to where some of the vendors were now hiding, we were "rewarded" with seeing what we felt with were sub-par vendors compared to what we saw in all years past under the "old" layout. It was surprising and strange. We went back yesterday for the 2022 event, and sadly, the new set-up remains in place. (We were hoping that the 2021 event was some sort of covid-related anomaly). On top of all this, while walking around the event yesterday, we were told by a vendor (who had been moved to an odd spot against her wishes) that there were other vendors severable blocks up the road in another direction, which surprised us because visitors would have no idea they were there - there was no signage to tell you that. So vendors are now just all over the place, requiring you to spend a lot of shoe leather just to find them. Lastly, some of the best vendors were not there last year or this, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is due to the crazy new set up. In a nutshell, this was our last visit to this event, and we are sad about that.

The artist was born and raised in Old Lyme. The installation is meant to encourages us ponder the magical mysteries of the forest. We also really enjoyed the Amanita sculptures outside the main building housing the museum's permanent collection. We were able to photograph these just before one of the museum staff sold them off to a local mushroom enthusiast (since Sunday was the last day of the mushroom exhibit). While we came specifically for the mushroom installation, we also really enjoyed our visit to the other galleries. The museum showcases the work of the artists of the Old Lyme Artist Colony, a nexus of American Impressionism and has some beautiful impressionist landscape painting, including many by female artists of the 19th and early 20th century. The grounds here are also beautiful with gorgeous views of the Lieutenant River. There was also an exhibit of small fairy houses when we visited. Beautiful spot with nice staff and docents. Would definitely return here!
