I'm updating my earlier review for The Plumber who responded very promptly to a service request through American Home Shield our warranty company. Brad came out, diagnosed the problem as a slab leak, explained that the costs would probably exceed what the insurance would cover and we set an appointment for the day after next. He arrived promptly, had me sign the various authorizations on a tablet where I couldn't see more than my signature line but hey, American Home Shield's a reputable company and I trust them so.... I was told that the work, running a new hot water line to bypass the old corroded copper one could involve unforeseen costs that might run as high as $2,500 but we'll see. Brad and his helper ( who appeared to do very little) worked quickly, efficiently and very neatly and even including a forty minute lunch break finished in under four hours. Later that evening I received an invoice for the job detailing the work but with no figures on it. I emailed the owner querying this and was told that they don't quote on a time and materials basis but on a "job quote" and this was theirs. I protested that $2,650 for four hours work was ridiculous and I never agreed to accept a "job quote" (The home warranty company apparently paid $500, the service call was $100 and the charge to my credit card was $2,050). I disputed the charge with my credit card company who investigated but eventually had to accept the charge as it had been made according to their rules. The upshot was that I had been carefully set up by Brad, enticed into entering a contract without full disclosure and being royally ripped off by The Plumber!!! read more

Josh came out to fix a leak that was behind the wall, and was only noticed from the outside at first. It was a complicated task due to extensive pitting of some cheap, thin walled copper pipe that was previously used to make a repair, it took a couple trips, but he took care of the job. We've had to call these guys twice in 2 weeks, once for an issue with our kitchen sink, and once because the pressure relief valve on our water heater was broken. The main supply water lines they carried weren't long enough. He said luckily i have a 30 in my car and installed it. I was grateful because that allowed me to have a working sink for my training that was upcoming this week. I came in 3 days after to see water everywhere. Lord behold it was from the 30 inch they installed. At first the guy told me we wouldn't install that and called me a liar. Even tho the valve had the tag on it and was brand nee. After i told him i have a camera recording voice 24-7 right above where the work was done he went outside and called the boss. He quickly changed his story and tried to go back in my property without my permission and take the piece. I told him for insurance purposes could he please leave it.
