Love, Love, Love this place. Its great to go somewhere that everyone can find something that they like to eat and it has a playground for the kids. There is a band, so if you like it loud, sit closer to the food trucks. Me, I like to talk so I sit closer to the playground. The food trucks range from BBQ to Mexican to Chinese. I have eaten at almost all the food trucks and have not had a bad meal. Most also have a childs meal so your kids are covered also. Also, a few are trained by the CIA. Not the 007 guys, but the food guys that have one college here in good old SA. Lots-o-types of beer at the permanent standing facility. I appreciate a place with a good range of different beers. I like options :). Seating is outside, so if its cold beware your food will get cold also if you don't chow it down fast. They generally have a beer on special at a discounted price. Parking lot is to the left of the building or you can park along the street. Come enjoy a little bit of fresh air, good food and good beer or wine. I love The Point Park & Eats! Admittedly, it is a bit far out of my way, so when I feel like making a "road trip" out there, they're definitely on my list of must stops. It's set just off the road on Boerne Stage Rd, and it's the cutest park-like setting. I imagine it will be amazing to sit there drinking a beer once spring gets here. I don't know of a single other food truck park in town that has such an expansive beer list, wine list, not to mention their selection of fancy-pants sodas, beyond the basic Coca-Cola spread. When you check in on Yelp, they even give you a free non-alcoholic drink, so check in, guys! The owners, Denise and Noel, are some of the coolest people I've met in the local food/drink scene, and have a real commitment to art. Behind-ish the bar, there's a cute little house showcasing art from local artists, and am Art-o-Mat. If you don't know what that is, you should google. It's a seriously cool retro vending machine, used to sell art. It's seriously a rad thing, and I wish more people knew about it. One note: wear flats! The Point is a great spot to hang out, have a couple of brews, and relax. I cant think of anyplace more laid back and relaxing to spend an afternoon. The food is always good but since each truck is an independent vendor, I'll just leave my comments about the facility itself. The walk up bar is inviting with many craft beers of local origin. They are always cold and local sports are always on the flat panel TV above the bar. Spurs and Cowboys when in season. The owners and staff are super people who will make you feel welcome, and make you want to come back every time you are in the area. There are huge shade trees all around and plenty of seating options. There is a canopy area with a large concrete slab to pull up a chair to one on the man comfortable tables. There is a small art gallery featuring multiple local artists but selection was a bit sparse last trip. I would love to see more availability of local artists work there for purchase. No huge deal really. Rest rooms are clean! Amazingly so! A good venue for local musicians and also have seen DJs there. All in all, a good time with one heck of a good feel about the Point. We enjoyed our first time there this past weekend. Finally some authentic Puerto Rican cuisine in San Antonio, the mojo sauce was some of the best I've had, the maduros were perfectly cooked and the Loma Saltado was savory and reminded me of being back in PR. The site is a bit far for me to come from Olmost Park on a regular basis, but I enjoyed the atmosphere, bar and art gallery. I bought a painting for $40!! Get there early for off-street parking. I live in Alamo Heights so this is a bit of a drive for me but man is it worth it! Today, the start of Meat Week San Antonio, so not sure if this much meat-heaven is always here, but omg there was so much TX BBQ deliciousness I really had a hard time choosing. Ended up eating at Crazy Carl's, Fat Bellies and Chocholazzo. The location is terrific with the exception of the off-ramp coming South from 1-10, very backed up. Very limited parking but lots of parking on the street. Loved the playscape for the kids, and the live entertainment was great! read more

I was surprised by the lack of food options, which is an odd thing to run into with food trucks. I went there looking for sweets and it seemed like a lot of the trucks that day were meat-heavy. Playground was a bit above my tot's level. I would say it was built for 4+, maybe 3. We will definitely go again when she's older but the Boardwalk on Bulverde (which seems to have more trucks) is closer so that will be out go-to for now. read more

You may find Rickshaw Stop, Slider Provider, Sabores, Crazy Carls, Fat Bellys, SpiceSea Gourmet and many otehrs out there on any given day (or night). The beer selection is also top notch. They ALWAYS have REal Ale's Devil's Backbone on tap which wins me over everytime. They run specials on Sundays with Saint Arnold. They often have special events with different local breweries. I've been going here since they opened and they are constantly improving The Point to ensure a good atmosphere for their customers. Hmm where do I begin. The first time I went to this place was in the evening on an f'in cold night and I really did not get a feel for the place, but had some great food from the various trucks (my favorite that night was the place that served Dominican/Caribbean food) and decent beer (I had to get over my dislike of drinking from plastic!) and thought it was okay. But what a difference daylight and spring makes! In spring and summer you can see this is a really nicely designed place making full advantage of the shade offered by the various trees on the property, and when there are no trees, they have created shade. A nice list of beers (if they start carrying Storm King I would add another star!) and okay wines (a bit pricey for what they are) are always available for consumption either to ward off the heat or the cold...depending on when you go. The staff are always efficient and at times friendly, but never unfriendly. They seriously hustle and try to get you your drinks quickly and one also sees them patrolling the area making sure the trash cans are not overflowing. Throw in the nice variety of food trucks and its a picnic....without you having to cook OR clean up for that matter! read more

Love! Some many reasons this place is great. First, is that it's kid friendly with a wonderful outdoor setup for children to play within sight of parents. Second, is the artistic indoor area decorated with art from locals & clean facilities. Third, a variety of food trucks to choose from all are pretty great but my favorites are "Skinny Cats" - Kobe Burger & "Texasana's" - Roosevelt (2 tamales on top of Fritos, chorizo, topped with queso fresco, green tomato salsa, more chorizo & a fried egg) Forth, friendly staff it's like a little home away from home community. Fifth, CRAFT BEER!! Yum, the bar area is great! TV and live music on certain days make it easy to cozy up to covered bar with cooling fans in the summer & bug repellent bracelets for purchase (a must for me) So many different types of beer that are changed frequently based on season & popularity - this is the highlight for me. Food is great. But my God, the flies! You can't even enjoy a bite because they are all over you and your food. Twice now our experience has been ruined by this. I can't in good conscious keep coming back if I can't even enjoy my meal. They are crawling all over me as I type this. In regards to the owners comments... 1. This was not at night. It was around 6pm so the tiki torches weren't lit. 2. The trash cans are placed right next to tables where people are eating. It would be wise to move them away from the tables. Maybe have a location away from everything for people to take their trash to. 3. The trash cans were over flowing and WERE NOT covered. Placing trash was like trying to play Jenga. Stacking trash on top of trash while not having it topple over. Not to mention every time someone threw something away the flies would swarm like an angry beehive. 4. I understand it's an outdoor environment. Being ex-military and as someone who enjoys backpacking and camping, I'm not one to complain much about the elements. But when my gf and I buy snowcones and we have bugs stuck in them before we can even sit back down...that's just ridiculous. Yes your place gets 2/5 stars. The food trucks are great. I haven't had one bad dish in the two times I've been your place. They get a 5/5. The trash and flying insects make me not want to return. Hence, the star rating. read more

Esposa and I went for the grand opening of a new food truck. The place was packed, so we had to park across the street. BE CAREFUL crossing the highway! There was a DJ playing a mix of music, several food trucks, and a large crowd. Several Spurs were in attendance for the food truck. So first I'll say that I'm not giving this rating because of the food or the trucks. They are always awesome. Up until yesterday we had nothing but positive things to say about the Point. My wife and I take our kids often. Yesterday we went to enjoy the Halloween activities. We brought in some teas from bill millers and some kids food from McDonalds, totally not aware that we could not or should not bring food in. It just never dawned on us. We have a 2 year old and a 6 year old so they are not going to eat BBQ or gourmet sandwiches. One of the employees (young guy with a beard) came up to us at our table and scolded us in front of other patrons. I believe he said this is a food park and we don't allow outside food. It took us a second to understand what was going on because there was no lead up, he just came at us very rudely. We were also eating our food (purchased at the park) so we were thinking, but we are eating food from here. We told him it was for the kids and that we had purchased food at the park. His response was that they have everything there and that the outside food has to go. We said okay and put our drinks away. Talk about embarrassed. My wife was really upset and neither of us finished our meals being partially pissed off and embarrassed as two other tables heard the entire thing. I spoke to him later and he apologized. However for small businesses especially, word of mouth is critical. We've always loved this place and drive 30 minutes just to get there. I have to say that anytime anyone mentions a food park or the Point again, this will be the story I tell. There is a right way to treat people, and a wrong way and we honestly did not know that we could not bring food in (even though there were signs - our fault). This was my first visit to a food truck "spot" like the Point, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a Saturday evening with lovely weather, so the place was pretty packed with kids and dogs; even with the crowd though, we didn't wait in line at either of our food truck picks. I liked the location, and there's lots of nice shady trees for hot afternoons. I really loved my deep dish pizza from G Bros (I left them their own 5 star review - I totally recommend them), and my hubs ordered some chorizo fries from another truck. We didn't pay for any drinks because we took advantage of the free drink with yelp check in (thanks!), and they also happened to be running a big Blue Moon promo at the time. We got free beer (which is my favorite thing ever) so that was pretty cool. I'm not sure if this place rotates food trucks or not, and if they do I might go back. Even if they don't, I'd go back to visit G Bros. But my mushroom deep dish was really the only vegetarian meal I could find - so my veg friends, beware. But, it was a cool spot to visit, and it's probably a nice place to bring little ones or furry friends. read more

Love this place. Been out several times but took my Dad out this evening for dinner. Weather was great to sit outside and enjoy some food truck grub. This place is very family friendly, typically has a live music gig and also has a full bar. We ordered from the Cock Asian food truck and had the Korean fusion wings, which are awesome. Spicy, but awesome. In addition to this, we ordered the fondue from the Chocollazo truck. Can't go wrong here. I'm not much of a chocolate lover, but the fruit and pretzel, paired with the chocolate, are a winning combo. My Dad can be fairly picky in his older age, and he gave this place the thumbs up. I absolutely love The Point. It is going to cost a little more than average, but the environment and choice of creative foods is well worth it. The bar adds a great touch, and it isn't ridiculously priced beverages. The playground and snow cones for the kids is also wonderful. Perfect for your Friday evening after a long day at work. I really wish there was more area for parking, though. It is hard to drive home with all the cars parked all over the place. They need to expand the area big time. It's a wonderful place to hang out and enjoy the weather, no matter what it is. They have live music and DJ on occasion. They've been known to have movies and the Spurs on their big screen. They have art installations that change on a regular basis. Check out their cool Art-O-Mat machine. I never leave without a piece of mini art from it. Overall, the place is always nice and clean. I'm writing my review on 4 things 1. The food variety is great!! Everyone can choose to their liking but you could end up with a new truck and be unhappy with it. If you're adventurous then that's half the fun! 2. The atmosphere is back yard laid back to include a bee infestation. They have called in some professionals to divert them but to no avail. This distraction was too big for us to enjoy our meal. 3. The Process is simple enough. Find an open table, claim it and order at your truck of choice. 4. Accessibility- it was a little hard to get wheelchair around (again- back yardish) I don't remember where the bathroom was but I was already thinking of my escape route and where I could take my child to the bathroom nearby I was also concerned about the bees. My daughter is nonverbal so if bit, I wouldn't know until her body reacts. So chalk it up to being a concerned mom but this rates poor on this end. Maybe my husband and I can try alone.
