Our ladies group of 14 had dinner this evening (1/24). Our server, Jake, deserves a hearty pat on the back, several Atta-Boys, and our sincere appreciation! He greeted us immediately, ushered water as soon as a person was seated, took drink & food orders as soon as the last person arrived, all while not batting an eye at separate checks!! Never again with this place. Zero service, slow Sunday and the only labor in the building was both bartender and waitress delivering food. We never saw the bartender, and others were there before we came in and never served. This place deserves better and so does the community of Central Point. read more

2.5 stars would have worked here. Service was lousy even though we were the only table in the joint, and when the server did start taking our orders, he couldn't get over half of them right. I think my response to the Turkey wrap I received was "This is a Panini?" The only thing that saves it from getting 2 stars were the yumm-o garlic fries. read more

This place is central points Best kept secret. I've had burgers, pasta, blue cheese fries and today a chimichanga with pulled pork and macaroni. Their food is not only very very good but they always seem to have different thing like today that sound strange but end up being over the top. The atmosphere is perfect.The waitress staff is cute and friendly. I'm not sure you could ask for more. Sometimes on weekend nights it seems to be a little busy but that's because it's so good and I'm perfectly willing to wait. read more

We just had dinner for six, two kids and four adults. I chose the Point because I thought it would be a good fit for keeping everyone happy while having a nice dinner. It was a great choice! In laws where very happy with prime rib as I was too, Jamie had Crab stuffed Salmon (we shared are meals) very good! Kids were happy with their meals too! My first experience with The Point was not was I was hoping for, the food was not what we had ordered, no blue cheese on the blue burgers, both cooked medium rare when 1 was supposed to be medium well, the one that had onions was not supposed to have onions,1 of the fries was supposed to be blue cheese fries, the other garlic, and both were garlic fries. That being said, the food was still delicious and we did not have time to go get it fixed as it was a pick up order. I sent a message about the mix up to manager via their online messaging system, and, within just a few minutes, he contacted me offering to bring a replacement or total refund. I was blown away. I asked to do a rain check and promised to try again the next day. He agreed and had a gift certificate waiting for me that more than covered the price of the original 2 burgers. Not only that, but when I went to go pick up our food, he came out to meet me and personally apologize for the mix-up, made sure I got the gift card, made sure the orders were fresh and hot and totally correct. The burgers and fries were perfect and so delicious! And, the quality of the customer service is far better than any restaurant I have ever been to. To go above and beyond to make sure we got what we had ordered and wanted, amazing! Thank you to the manager, Christian, and to the staff at The Point for such an amazing experience and for the care you all took to make sure our order was fixed. The food is to die for! My family and I finally tried out the point. We were very excited and hoping for the best. I gave them two stars because the atmosphere is good and the servers were very attentive. We started out with the wings which struck me with a very similar taste and feel to the ones you can get in the big plastic bag in the freezer section. For dinner my wife and I tried the burgers. They were pretty bad. The buns were completely soggy and the meat had no seasoning whatsoever. We tried to come up with a description of the meat and the best we could come to is meat biscuit. We had our company Christmas party at The Point this weekend. The food overall was excellent, especially for a buffet where it can get pretty tricky to have all the options taste great, prepared at the same time and sitting in a chaffing dish for over an hour. The mushroom ravioli w/asiago cream sauce was a favorite as well as the tri-tip with chipotle sauce, but honestly all the food was great. The cannoli's were fairly bland but the cheesecake was a huge hit. The service was great, we had about 30 people there and waited only about 5 minutes or less for drinks. Food was ready on time and we had plenty of it. All in all we would definitely recommend The Point for future events. read more

Nice place, average food at best. Service was poor. I stood at the bar waiting to order a couple of bourbons while two employees chatted amongst themselves. They then walked off and didn't even acknowledge that they had a customer waiting there for drinks. End result is that the bar lost a sale and the servers lost a tip. I have been to The Point a number of times and enjoyed the food and experience each time. The most recent experience, however, did not start out well. Our table got overlooked for a solid 15 minutes. Finally had to go ask that someone take our order. Order was taken then and or food came out after a little longer wait than we liked, but it was a busy Friday night. 3 of the 4 plates we ordered were fine. The 4th plates was cold and needed to be sent back. They took the plate to reheat (we thought) but after several minutes and a drink refill, the rest of the table was about half done with our food and the other person was still waiting. At this point we were all totally disgruntled, but just then the manager came to our table and apologized. It seems that our waitress had told him of the mix ups at our table. He not only apologized but discounted our meal and gave us a dessert. The food was all still good stuff, no complaints there. And after the waitress and manager handler the mix ups the way they did I'm definitely going to be a customer again in the future. What's the point of trying to eat here? Party of 4, we walked in for lunch at 1pm. A large group (6-8) just finishing and one other table of four eating their meal. No one greeted us. The one young waiter ignored us and tried not to make eye contact. After 10 minutes we went and got out own menus. After 10 more minutes of being ignored, we left. No one ever tried to make contact with us. Like I said earlier, what's the point! read more

Anon who gave a negative review as a result of this restaurant clearly having been busy when Anon arrived and decided to seat himself at a dirty table. Hey Anon, instead of going to yelp to write a negative review as a result of something you did wrong, maybe next time you simply wait for an employee to greet you and seat you at a table that has been cleaned and is now available for you to sit at. That is proper etiquette afterall when dining at a sit-down restaurant. Amy s. You didn't even eat there you just wrote a negative review because you showed up and expected a busy restaurant to accommodate a walk-in party of 13. That's ridiculous. Make a reservation if you have a large party. Lastly for the gentleman who wrote a nasty review because he for whatever reason felt his cod was not in fact cod. Clearly written by someone who's never worked in the grocery or restaurant industry. I've dined at this establishment twice I've had nothing but positive experiences with the location the service and the food. After having read some of the reviews I'm going to be sure to return as soon as possible and I'll probably order the Cod. I absolutely support this small business. read more

As I was leaving The Point, I tried to remember the last time I had actually walked out of a restaurant without eating my intended meal. I think it was in the mid-90s in St. Louis. What a disaster this place was! When my party of seven arrived, the one thing they got right was the estimated wait of 15 minutes for a table. We were seated in closer to 10 minutes, but that would be the only positive of the evening. We were seated at 6:45PM. A few of us had gotten waters or beers from the bar while waiting, and we brought these to our table. Others in our group brought no drinks to the table. After receiving our menus, we waited...and waited...and waited for our waiter to return. A solid 10 minutes went by before our orders were taken. I asked for waters for the entire table, and our waiter snidely replied that everyone would be getting water. Yet, no water came until we asked another passing staff for help. My wife and I ordered an appetizer and two dinner entrees. About a half hour later, my cup of soup and my wife's side salad arrived. My clam chowder was actually quite tasty, with a thick broth, good flavor, and plenty of clams. But this was the only food anyone at our table would consume on this night. Our appetizer never arrived. Everyone else at our table had ordered burgers or sandwiches, not very complex orders. We asked our waiter several times what was going on; he was vague and rude. In fact, there was no communication happening that wasn't initiated by my group. At about 8:10PM, we finally decided to bail. We were hungry and had been there for almost an hour and a half! This was hands down the worst dining experience I've had in almost twenty years in the Rogue Valley. The Point was poorly organized, the staff were indifferent at best, and it was frankly a complete sh*t show. Avoid this place at all costs, you can do much better. read more

When you first walk in it's a nice place and the menu looks good. We sat on the bar side and placed orders for our drinks and two appetizers at the same time. Our drinks came out and about 15 minutes later only one appetizer came out, the one my bf ordered. It was calamari, I don't eat seafood. She reassured me mine was on the way. ONE hour after I ordered my appetizer, one more Cosmo later and long after I had ordered my meal the bartender/server plopped down cold jalapeño poppers and said 'sorry these are cold, someone took yours, you don't have to eat them if you don't want to. I'll have them taken off your bill.' Then walked away. She came back by a couple minutes later and said oh I guess they aren't too bad! Yeah lady because I was hungry an hour ago when I first came in! So one more HOUR goes by before we eat our dinner, a couple that came in at the time I received my second appetizer got their meals the same time we did. I had to go up to the bar to get my check. The whole thing took close to 3 hours. So completely unnecessary and unreal. I have never been to a restaurant period and served cold food an hour after I ordered it. I don't even think she really took it off the bill, by the time we were done I just wanted to leave. It was a Christmas gift card from family to go there anyway. I'm just happy it wasn't my own money. I really hope the owner reads these you really need some improvements at your establishment. We came in for dinner but left disappointed. When we first got in the host said he would make up a table then just left us waiting for ten minutes when there was a table really get in front of us. It took forever for us to get our drinks and then forever and a half before we got the refills. Finally after an hour we got our food but what surprise no utensils or napkins. Waited another 10 minutes for that. Then my side salad had I identified fishy looking stuff on it plus some other black crunchy thing. The server was very apologetic but we still won't be back. A group of eight of us were there last night for a birthday celebration. Service was wonderful as I had the salmon with Caesar salad. Very good. My wife had the vege sandwich with blue cheese fries. Traveling through Oregon on our way home from a holiday trip to California and stumbled upon The Point in our search for lunch. What a great find! I am always so impressed every time I go to the Point! The service is friendly and the food is spectacular! It is so nice to have a place in central point like this where you can just go and relax. I hope this restaurant makes it. The staff was very polite. In the spring and summer the outdoor seating will be nice. The food needs help. The cheeseburger was very dry. I asked for no pink and I guess that means not juicy. You also have to put your burger together everything comes on the side. ( Why go out if you have to do it yourself?) My husband ordered the grilled chicken panini. The bread was so dry it scratched the roof of his mouth. Fococcia bread should be soft, Fries were good. Had to ask for refills on drinks. I am thinking this restaurant will cater to people ages thirties - fifties. So why the Rat Pack Music from the sixties? It is not relaxing or upbeat. It does not make the place classier. My suggestion would be music from 1970-1990. That fits your age group. It doesn't have to be hard rock. Will we go back? No, not unless changes to the food and atmosphere changes. read more

Visited around 5pm on a Saturday, not a busy time of day. There were 4 of us ordering different entrées. It took a while to finally get our menus. My wife had a dry french dip, thankful that the au juis was tasty and plentiful. It was suggested I try their burger which was supposed to be great. The other couple ate their dinner with little comment indicating that the food is just okay. I was appalled at how completely overcooked my medium rare hamburger turned out. I am not one to send food back to the kitchen for fear of what I might get in return so I begrudgingly ate the damn thing because I was hungry. Who screws up a burger? Very reluctant to revisit or recommend this dining establishment based on my experience. Service could be better and the food needs work! read more

My sister held her wedding at The Point. Who would have thought this location would make the IDEAL wedding location? They had about 85 people attend. The Point has a beautiful outdoor patio area that was perfect for the cermony. They have a large gazebo, as well as plenty of room for seating. The owners and employees were accommodating and took care of everything. We had dinner indoors where the ambiance of the old brick walls was perfect. The meals were AMAZING. Serving 85 meals at once can't be easy, but they pulled it off. My sister said she wouldn't have changed anything about their perfect wedding. Thank you to The Point for making it the perfect venue! Going downhill fast. Comfort food WAS excellent and this was a regular spot for dinner and a drinks. Love the atmosphere and most of the staff but the recent efforts to cut costs on food items has made it difficult for me to return even though I still have almost $100 on a VIP card. The wine pours are 50% less and the protein to carbohydrate ratio's on their sandwiches and hamburgers are leaning more to the carb side. Not really fond of a dry bread sandwich. I truly want this business to succeed but I cannot patronize them if cutting food quality is a requirement for their expansion. read more

We tried The Point for dinner a few months ago. Took almost an hour for our food to come out. There were only two other tables in the whole restaurant. Food was cold, but edible. Server never came back to check on us. We ended up leaving cash on the table and walked out. Today we wanted to give it another shot....We went in and let the server know we would be sitting on the patio. We waited ten minutes before she brought waters. We gave her our drink and lunch order. Another ten minutes goes by and we still don't even have drinks. At this point after being there 20 minutes and don't even have a drink we were ready to try somewhere else. This food is ridiculously over priced for the food you get. The drinks as well are over priced. The service was creepy with the server named Christian. I will never return here. The food was way to expensive and the food was not very good, it was cold and poor. My wife was thoroughly disappointed with the burgers, dry and un flavorful. I am do disappointed with this restaurant because of all the effort out into the building. My wife and I were really looking forward to trying the Point after having driven by it many times and reading great reviews on Urban Spoon. Our server was very attentive and friendly in the beginning of our meal but as time progressed basically abandoned us. We started with the Calamari appetizer which was very good, next the Cesar salad which tasted like it came out of a grocery store bag and was delivered along with our main course the Spanish Rib Eye Steak. Isn't the salad supposed to come before the main course not with your entre? Excuse me! The steak was also good but once we finished our meal our plates sat on the table for a solid half hour before another waitress asked if we were done and picked up some but not all of them. We were going to order another couple glasses of wine and desert but after sitting for another solid 20 minutes with the remaining plates sitting on our table, we finally managed to flag down our server asked for the check, paid the bill and left. From a service standpoint I would give the Point 1 star, food 3 stars so we will compromise with 2 stars and won't be back there are too many other really good places. read more
