Always my go to spot in Elk Grove. Have been a customer there for over 10 years. Professional, clean and they stick to their appointment times. My recent mani color lasted close to 14 days.. This is a great nail place near the DMV in Los Gatos. I always go to see Rose. Both the manicures and pedicures are done with good attention to detail and I never feel like I'm being rushed. The ambiance is a definite con - this is not a large place. However, the price for a mani/pedi is reasonable for the quality that you get. I'd rather be in a low key environment and pay a little less for a great mani/pedi than get something mediocre at an expensive spa. Go see Rose - she'll be your go-to nail lady. read more

I just came back from my first appt @ the Polished Nail and I am definitely pleased. I've had a million and one terrible nail experiences (bleeding cuticles, raw filed nail beds, uneven edges, bubbly surfaces, etc) and none of those occurred here. On recommendation from my mom, I scheduled a french manicure ($40 for gel and well worth it) with Rose, and she did a wonderful job. She spent the whole time with me (no going-between-customers, which is really irritating) and did exactly what I asked for - short and square-shaped. Not to mention she was adorable and sweet and I didn't feel like she was just going through the motions. She actually took care to make sure she didn't hurt me. Awesome nail salon. I love The Polished Nail. I use to go to a wonderful place in Palo Allto. One day, I had to go to the DMV before a trip and I didn't have time to go to Palo Alto. I saw the salon at the other end of the DMV parking lot and stopped in to check it out. I liked what I saw. The manicures looked great. The women getting their nails done were long time customers and had amazing things to say about the salon and it's owner Tammy. I really like the salon in Palo Alto, but I love The Polished Nail. Now I go to Rose, who I adore. She does an amazing job. I'm very particular...I focus on the smallest details. Thankfully, so does Rose! Went there once. Rose did a great job on my nails. Three stars because: 1. The place is not as clean as I thought it would be based on yelp reviews. The technician's desk had a thick layer of dust under nail polishes. Once I sat down, I didn't get a new (clean) towel. A few clipped nails from the previous customer were still on the table. I don't call that clean. I am not sure the clippers were disinfected before they were used on me as they were pulled out from a drawer and not from a container with the disinfecting solution. But that may be something I just didn't see being done prior to my arrival. 2. The hand massage was painful and jerky, and quick. 3. They talked in a language I don't understand. I know that that's becoming a common practice in salons now, but I still don't like it. Specially when they say something and then all look at you. Call me nuts but it makes me think that they said something about me. And even though my self-esteem is all intact, I am SO CURIOUS! Please do share..in English. Or speak any other language after I leave. 4. Once I was all cooked and ready, I paid but didn't even get a thank you. I did leave a 20% tip. The technician grabbed the money, put it in the drawer along with the clippers she used on me (without cleaning them), grabbed a magazine and turned her chair away from me. First of all, this place does NOT do gel nails. Gels are just that, a gel that is the consistency of thick glue, that have to be cured under a UV lamp. The Polished Nail does very good liquid and powder acrylics. They are not gels. Rose did my nails, and did an excellent job. I got pink and whites, and they were very good. Crisp smiles lines, and they did not lift at all. She has a very gentle touch and is very friendly and warm. read more

I went to this place based on Yelp reviews. I'm not exactly sure who was the girl that did my nails but she was excellent. She was very meticulous, my nails look absolutely fantastic. I didn't have to wait at all, and I only called about 10 minutes before arriving. My pedicure was also great, she massaged my legs and feet for like 20 minutes, it was VERY relaxing and my toes look fabulous. I would have given the place 5 stars but this is why they get 4: - There were 3 flies that were flying around making my relaxing experience while getting my pedicure not so relaxin. - I was their last customer for the day so they were counting money, and splitting their tips, I thought that should be done when no customers are there, and also, it made me feel a bit neglected. - The whole time I was there they were talking a different language, however, since I was relaxing with the massage I didn't mind as much. Overall, I'd definitely recommend. Their work is excellent -flawless- so if you want, thin, perfectly manicured nails, perfectly groom toe nails and a nice relaxing massage, this is definitely the place to go. My friend and I went here to get our nails done. Immediately when we walked in we were barely acknowledged by one of the employees. However the woman who ended up doing my nails, Rose, was super sweet and initiated conversation with me and did a good job. My friend was not so lucky she got the woman who rudely greeted us at the door. She was minimal in conversation and did not listen to my friends request to fix the uneven shellac she was paying $65 for. It was 25 minutes of her rudely ignoring her requests and suggestions to even out the white tips of her shellac French manicure. She kept saying "your nails are fine" even I could tell they weren't evenly painted. 10 min after we left, the white on her French manicure was already chipping. If you do go here, I suggest asking for Rose. read more

Nancy has been doing my nails for years. I first started going to her when she was at another shop on Los Gatos Blvd. I get veneers over my natural nails (no tips). They are thin enough to look natural, and don't chip or peel. Rose gives awesome pedicures. She will spend a long time massaging your legs. Price is low average for the area. read more

I have gone to Rose for years. She does my pink and whites just the way I like them, thin, short and semi- rounded. I even tried Gels for a while, loved having the color and they didn't chip for weeks, but I think it is a winter thing and I like the pink and white in the summer. I LOVE the polished nail! They do beautiful work and are soooo patient w my 88 year old mother. The salon is clean, well lit and Newer furniture. I love the robins egg chairs. The girls are all great and so very friendly. Our gel manis last forever and reasonably priced compared to other places in mid-town who don't do as nice of work, loud and/or dark and dingy.
