They hire a bunch of amateurs to come and close and winterize my in ground pool. I called them immediately after about my concern that they did not add enough winterizer chemicals but they said that's how they do it. The next spring my pool water was all black. It took me a week and 6 gallons of liquid shock to clear up. First time in 20 years this ever happened. Very pissed off at them. read more

9/25/2023 I had Eric and Dillon here to close my pool and they were outstanding. Even in the pouring rain they took no short cuts and were very patient with me explaining the process. This company is not to be trusted. My father paid them to open our pool (which he couldn't do himself because he's on his second round of chemo) and they didn't even complete the job. They just literally pulled the cover off, folded it in half, and threw it in our shed filthy and full of dirt. Now I get to spend my day off cleaning the cover, shed, & doing the work they were paid to do. And when it comes to customer service, forget it. My mom called and tried to explain what happened and the person she spoke with just said "well you said you wanted it in the shed" $210 wasted. Do not trust this company. There are plenty of other business that will do this work and actually do the whole job, not just enough to get out of the work site before you notice what they did. Also they told my dad "if you pay cash, you don't need to pay taxes". They do this so they can get away with shotty work. read more

Well, now I know why there are so many bad reviews on the web about this company. The did a horrible job opening my pool. They used MY chemicals even though the price for opening included chemicals. They rolled my pool cover in a big ball instead of folding it neatly, leaving it to mildew and rot. In addition they tore a hole in the cover and refused to take responsibility. They came to power vac when no 9ne was home. They left a bill for $500 (!) which is more than twice what I was charged in the past. Stay away! read more

2018 They did a great job, nothing but great service and professionalism. This season they hired people who not only didn't know how to clean a pool, they didn't know how to work one. After my opening they sent someone to clean my pool. Since he sucked out so much water that the level was low [which is fine doing a good cleaning], he wanted to shut off my filter until water was added. Well instead of just turning off the switch, he removed all the pins from my timer clock. Luckily none got lost. He also mis-screwed on my chlorinator top and they had to come back with wrenches to unscrew it. Cracking it in the process. Today they called claiming i owe them money from exactly 3 months ago. They had my credit card on file and always charged the day of service. Kind of hard to verify what they did or didn't due 3 months ago. read more

Very disappointed with this place and I would recommend staying away. They DO NOT stand behind their work and their work was subpar. Had them replace a liner in my pool last year. Above ground oval. The liner was replaced on July 20, 2019. Since it was filled with fresh water and clean, I never had to use the filter so I didn't notice that they broke the power switch. That was not the problem and I fixed it this spring when I opened the pool. But when I opened the pool, I noticed that the new liner had slipped off the pool wall in two spots. Not terribly but enough that I called them to come and fix it. I presumed they would fix it under warranty. Note! Fan says its not covered. It's usual wear and tear. They want me to drain the pool to two feet deep and then come to repair it for over $300. Unbelieveable. I hope you will stay away from this operation. Disgraceful. The Poolsmith provides wonderful service and employs an exemplary staff! Michael in retail is a breath of fresh air and is always available to troubleshoot your needs. Fran is extremely efficient in keeping you updated on service and the pool service men have always arrived on the day they are scheduled to perform our service. Last season was the first time we used The Poolsmith. We were having horrible problems with our pool and Demetri and Andre were the only company we ho was willing to take the challenge to repair and open our pool without incurring unreasonable cost!!! My pool is beautiful thanks to Dimitri and Andre of Poolsmith. Our pool was 25 years old and needed a lot of work. Thanks to their guidance and excellent work ethic, our backyard is picture perfect. The pavers put in by Yilmaz are unbelievable. We get so many complements. Poolsmith also opened and closed our pool this year...very thorough ..they even brushed the sides and put cover away in shed. After reading the negative reviews from years ago, I am writing a positive one for 2018. This is the first summer that we have used Poolsmith for maintenance for our inground pool and so far we anticipate using them for all of our pool needs. Our first pool vacuuming was done by Ace( real name)/Vinny , who were efficient and left my pool looking good. When I needed some additional service I left a message for Dimetri(owner) and I received a return text within a reasonable amount of time. In addition, the next day, I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone was already at my home, even though I was not at home, and made an adjustment so that my pool heater works more efficiently. Although, it is only the beginning of a summer season, I feel confident that we will continue to support our local pool company. read more

The poolsmith was a very honest and reliable person, to me. I didnt even use his services but he sent me in the right direction, was a straight shooter, upfront and honest and i would refer to him to others and use him if need be, but he was very clear to me that my needs werent in his line of pool work. I called to have them come look at my filter which I knew was bad, they came a few days later, said yup the filter and pump are bad. They came Wed evening.It took them all of 20 minutes and that included having them write up the estimate. They said it was $1350, they wanted cash and a $200 cash deposit. I gave it to them, and scheduled the filter and pump to be installed Monday or tuesday of the following week. As the summer is almost over and I was going to be away anyway I told them ok, but I wanted the pool done by the time I got back. They wanted the remainder in cash and I told them my step son would be here to give it to them. I called my step son Wedenday of that week and he said they didn't come,nor did they call. I called Pool Smith. They said they didn't know why it was not done but they could see it was scheduled for Saturday. I said ok but I would be home Sunday and I wanted it done. They said not to worry it would be done Saturday. Sunday again no ilter no call. I called and left a message that I could not trust their services and wanted to cancel the order. They called back shortly after and gave me a story about a family emergency, then told my son they lost my number and they had to order the parts etc. I told them I wanted my deposit back and they refused to give it to me. I wrote thema letter and told me if I did not receive the deposit back I would go to small claims court. Thats what I am aboiut to do! I could never trust these people to do anything.
