Fantastic new little breakfast spot! Our server Haley was excellent and super helpful in understanding the coffee menu! I had the Cinnamon date cortado which was toasty and delicious. The food came out in literally 3 minutes. I don't know how they did it! The potatoes were the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Seasoned perfectly, nice crispy bits on the top and soft creamy interior. We had the southwest croissant same and the monte cristo. The chorizo was rich and flavorful with out being overly fatty. That bread in Monte cristo was fluffy and decadent, but be warned it is heavy! Even the server that cashed us out and bussed our table was amazing! 10/10 experience ! read more

My boyfriend's friends and family and I all stopped by here after church on Easter for a late brunch. To our surprise, we didn't have to wait long at all before being seated. Another staff member brought our drinks after we ordered and our server eventually made it around to us after saying he had a bunch of tables - I get it, it was Easter! I had the prep sausage breakfast Sammie which was amazing. The potatoes that came with it were so deliciously crispy. I also ordered a blueberry lemon mimosa which was incredible. It was so light and refreshing. One of our friends had to ask another server to bring his hot coffee around after he was the only one to not get it. It was my boyfriend's birthday so they also offered him a free pastry. I tried the chocolate chip cookie he picked out which was so good. I told the server I wanted to pay for my boyfriend and he acted like he charged me, however, as he made his way around the table he ended up charging my bf for his meal! I was a little confused with our server but other than that I absolutely loved this place. I think it was just the rush of the holiday and all. Came in for brunch on my own many, many months ago, before I was even in my second pregnancy. However, I do recall a pretty pleasant experience here, at least foodwise. Ordered their: Harissa Shakshuka, which is say was a 9/10 in flavor and presentation. Strawberry mimosa, also a 9/10 in term of alcohol to juice ratio. Unfortunately, their service that day was subpar. I'd say about 6/10. Not attentive enough. One of my favorite places to have breakfast meetings. Staff is wonderful. The menu was awesome from scratch kitchen. Met some friends of this restaurant for brunch. First time I've been here since they open. I really liked the inside of this restaurant it was really cool the way they had to decorated. Maybe a little bit on the loud side but not terrible. Service was super friendly and efficient. The menu had a nice selection on it. This place has a very unique, marble white look, with all of the delicious looking pastries right by the front to draw you in. The food was good, but the Prep Sausage Sandwich definitely tasted a bit off, although with the high quality ingredients I could tell it was very healthy compared to better tasting breakfast sandwiches. We were in Gilbert exploring and we came upon this quaint little brunch spot! We like to try different places - so, we gave it a go!! The service was super- friendly and made suggestions. We went with the biscuits and gravy (which we shared)- it wasn't what we were expecting. The biscuits themselves were a bit dry/kinda stale. I was really thrown by the gravy- it was super rich and I didn't really care for the flavor profile. I know the gal said they use some duck fat for the gravy. What a cute place!! We love the original in Tucson, and this location did not disappoint! Such great service- multiple servers and food runners- very fast and very kind! I love Prep and Pastry a brunch! I can't put into words how excited I was to hear that Prep and Pastry was opening a location in downtown Gilbert. I visited within the first couple of months of them opening with a friend and loved it and have been back a handful of times since then! P&P is my go-to for a brunch especially in the downtown Gilbert area. The space is big and well-lit, and they offer plenty of seating indoor, outdoor, and at the bar. I've tried a variety of pastries and a few entrees. My favorite entree is the smoked salmon hash. It comes with smoked salmon, roasted vegetables, potatoes, over easy egg, creamy horseradish, and everything seasoning. So flavorful and filling without making you feel heavy. All of the pastries are divine. My favorite so far is the "prep-tart" which is their take on the poptart. The coffee is solid. The service has been outstanding on every visit. The staff is friendly, attentive, and prompt. I highly recommend utilizing their Yelp Waitlist feature on weekends as they tend to get pretty busy. read more

The only thing i encountered is that once we were done we waited about 15 minutes for the check so we ended up going to the front counter and asking for someone to please check us out. No biggie! I ordered the 1/2 French and 1/2 omelette. It was soooo good and in terms of price, it was a good deal! I think the portions are just right. The foot was tasty, and for me, the toast wasn't too heavy. The servers were fast, efficient, and super friendly. Last weekend I tried an establishment nearby and saw fellow Yelp! friend, Regina W., post a pic of a Blueberry Earl Grey Scone and it occupied my brain all week...and Prep and Pastry has been on my hit list for a minute so I pulled the trigger. Super friendly staff, was greeted immediately and sat at the bar. Shout out to Christina who was super cool and attentive to me during my visit! I should start by saying that I love the food (both meals and the pastries) at Prep & Pastry and was so excited for the Gilbert location to open up. I especially love the steak sandwich or Monte Cristo, and their potatoes. However, I've gone three times over the last couple months for weekend brunch and while the food always hits the spot, the service has been sub-par (two times when it wasn't busy at all). For some reason, we always have 2-3 different people waiting our table and they ask or deliver things redundantly (e.g., asking for our order twice or bringing multiple sets of drinks). Likewise, we've had two experiences where it takes an excessive amount of time to get our order in in the first place or for food/drink to be delivered (over 1 hour, or getting food but not our drinks). The staff is always kind and apologetic but it was a little disappointing and frustrating to have this happen yet another time. Again, the food is great and this wouldn't really prevent me from going, but I just need to set expectations accordingly and maybe not show up super hungry? I hope from a business perspective they can sort out the service side of things. read more

Came here on a Wed for brunch with my kiddos. My son and I split the Monte Cristo sandwich with added two eggs and my daughter got I believe the simple breakfast off the kids menu. We all really enjoyed our meals, I thought the crispy potatos that came with our entree was delicious. Very flavorful. Our server was attentive. Place was clean. My cousin and I returned on an early Saturday morning as we wanted to ensure we had both the Blueberry Earl Grey Scones, and seating inside. We had a slightly unpleasant experience last time, but I had a previous Yelp event that was amazing. I'm so glad we returned as they hit it out of the park this time! Our waitress was incredibly friendly, the barista made an excellent cortado for me, and we connected with Liz who was also very kind & followed up to ensure we enjoyed our experience today. I tried the Prep Omelette for the first time, and I really enjoyed it; especially since the pesto is pine nut free! Additionally, my cousin loved her Cure French Toast and the ability to order a half order. Our coffee drinks were the perfect compliment to the meal, and the Blueberry Earl Grey Scones lived up to the hype for my cousin. All around, a great experience and enjoy the ambiance of the inside seating on a mellow Saturday morning. We found this lovely breakfast spot on Yelp. We love how spacious it is and the color pallet is very pleasing. We arrived this morning (Thursday) at 8am and it was pretty quiet. We immediately checked out the lucious pastry display. Shortly thereafter, we were greeted and seated. The menu is small, but has some very nice offerings. We ordered: - cinnamon roll - very nice! - simple breakfast sourdough toast + bacon - I didn't love the bacon (too sweet), eggs were perfectly cooked, but the potatoes and sourdough toast with strawberry jam were especially delicious! - avocado toast - great flavor, yum! This is my favorite place for breakfast or brunch after dining here Nov 17th!! After opening approx six months ago, P & P Gilbert has been reviewed many times on Yelp. They have unique flavor combinations on the menu that makes it challenging to select an entree. We ordered the earl grey lavender scone and a chocolate donut. Both were fantastic! The hot cast iron duck confit with braised cherries and goat cheese was very, very good. My friend noticed the small portion of duck but praised the flavor. The poblano verdi beni stole the show with perfectly poached eggs, goat cheese hollandaise sauce and P & P's potatoes! Steamed, smashed, flash fried then seasoned while the potatoes are still hot, make these a side worth coming back for! The herbed cheddar biscuits added some needed texture to this scrumptious emtree. I liked the white tea offering on the menu. Not many places offer white, black, green and herbal teas! Our server, Macy was on her game today. Having grace and kindness are always good assets to have in a server and she had both! Where they shine is when they are in the groove during the busy weekends, when the hustle and bustle gets everyone on their game. Starting off, be prepared to wait to be seated. Like most breakfast spots in this part of Gilbert, it's an average wait of 20-30 min. Once seated it did take a while(like 20 min) to be able to order anything, but I was told they were short staffed. This makes sense because the hosts seamed a bit frantic. The wait staff were super friendly, despite being so busy, and the overall vibe was nice. Next is the coffee. I got an iced hazelnut mocha, which was delightful. And my partner got a cortado, and said it was creamy and flavorful. Finally, the food we got were the Poblano Verde Beni and the Avo & Herb Toast. I'll start with the positive, my partner(who frequently gets avacado toast for brunch) said the avocado toast is one of her new favorites, it was super flavorful with perfect seasonings and had a Mediterranean vibe. Also, the avocado was super fresh. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the beni as much. The most disappointing part of it was that the meat was very boring, if there was seasoning, I couldn't taste it. It comes on a cheese biscuit which sounds lovely, but it completely overwhelms any flavor coming from the poblano. The saving grace were the potatoes. The newest Prep and Pastry location is still as wonderful as the Scottsdale spot. Airy, bright and open atmosphere and perfect spot to snag a coffee and of course, pastry. This location is conveniently located in downtown Gilbert, relatively close to the parking garage, which is perfect for those hot summer days and keep your car a bit cooler. On this specific visit, it was closer to lunch, so the pasty options were a tad picked through, but still included a Key Lime Dossiant, Beery Cobbler stuffed donut, Cinnamon Roll , Earl Grey Lavender SCone and few other treats. We opted to share the Dossiant and Cinnamon Roll, which came more served like a muffin. The Key Lime Dossiant's lamination or layers were wonderful, it was really a quality pastry, but the flavor was a tad sweeter than I would expect from Key Lime. The Cinnamon Roll, though nice, was not my fave and a tad on the drier side, would have loved it had been warmed up! I paired my pastries with an Ice coffee and cold foam (LOVE that they have this). We ened up not staying long, as we though they had Wifi, it seems like a great space to work, but they do not, which was a major bummer. Hopefully, it may be something they consider adding down the road. In addition, they do have a great breakfast menu ranging form classics and special and some lunch options for later in the day visits. They sport seasonal coffee items which is also nice, looking forward to the cooler temps to pair with those fall specials! Stopped in to Prep and Pastry for a well deserved treat following my monthly Brazilian. It's the 35th day of Lent and a Friday no less... why is it always Lenten Friday's that I crave steak & eggs? I was delighted to see a number of vegetarian and salmon entrees on the menu here this morning. This was my second visit in, post waxing, which may become part of the ritual. I ordered an iced latte, the Smoked Salmon Beni, a Key Lime Dosant (do not skip the pastries, try one, any one!) and the Smoked Salmon Hash to-go. I've also ordered the Poblano Beni and cinnamon roll during my previous visit. The roasted potatoes are cooked almost to perfection, nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy and tender in the center (I usually prefer a little more crisp). The main entrees have been incredibly flavorful and the pastries are sinfully delicious. Service seems a bit green but the young ladies have all been very sweet and attentive. Prices are what you'd expect these days, especially in downtown Gilbert... I won't complain for the quality of food :) Share your favorite pastries please! I have no idea how the food is. We showed up on a Monday morning in March. I get it, it's Monday, there are limited staff, but just be honest. Tell people you have limited staff and you aren't going to be seated. They let us wait over an hour. We asked if we could sit at an unattended table while we waited, no. We asked if we were going to be seated soon, after an hour they said yes. We finally gave up and had lunch across the street at ohso, which I am giving 5 stars. New location in downtown Gilbert near Joe's bbq so plenty of parking of free parking in the back of the building and lot. Very cute and spacious inside. The three of us we were greeted right away and seated at our table for brunch on a Thursday late morning without ressies. We first ordered the cinnamon roll, mango tajin doussant and they were omg delish. I would order those two again. The earl grey scone was ok for me. I also enjoyed my strawberry matcha drink. My monte cristo was yummy! I've never had it with this herbed brioche French toast for the bread. I also added a side of eggs for $3 bc my 4 year old wanted it but such a tiny portion. Not worth it. Lols My friend ordered the poblano verde beni and she didn't like it. I had a bite and the carnitas were dry, the whole thing seemed dry. So pass on that. Oh the service.
