Parking 5/5 Always a challenge but coming early and doing the circle dance landed us a nice space across from the Liberty Market. Atmosphere 5/5 Such a cool restaurant with allot of history dating back to 1935/1958/2008/2022 which reflects the years of the establishments service and architecture evolutions. Always a great vibe here! Service 10/5 Our experience tonight began with the beautiful and friendly hostess Bailey. She greeted us with a warm smile and asked us what our seating presence was. We grabbed a booth overlooking Page street and the foot traffic outside. Our server tonight was Treven who joined us table side. He had our drink and starters in quickly. My wife ordered the Lucky Penny Latte and I had iced tea. Starter was their out of this world Burrata. The photos fall short of its glory. Entrees was their memorable minestrone soup, and I ordered their sesame ginger noodle salad featuring sweet potato glass noodles which are delicious and a host of smartly paired vegetables, chicken and a pleasant ginger sriracha delivering some spice and heat without overpowering the dish itself. For desert we fell way off the wagon with their in-house carrot cake. A slice easily feeds four and we enjoyed ours with espressos. Previous review for dessert and coffee. Solid 5. Tonight we had the same after dinner and again, excellent. But this review is for dinner. We started with large French fries served with two smallish containers ketchup and chipotle sauce. Fries good but could have a bit hotter and served with insufficient amount of sauces. 3. Hubs had Caesar salad. I'm not kidding when I tell you that half of the bowl was croutons. 2. I had the minestrone soup with sausage, no pasta. This was absolute delicious and filling. I'd come back just for a bowl @ $17. 5. Hubs and I shared the wood fired pepperoni pizza. This may have been one of the worst pizzas I've had in recent years. Floppy, scant cheese and sauce. Shriveled basil and tiny pepperonis. Even worse, the bottom was black. Just awful. 1. Our waitress and other servers were all friendly. Nice vibe, clean and gender inclusive restrooms clean and tidy. Liberty Market has good food and a nice atmosphere, but nothing really stood out to make it unforgettable. Everything we tried was solid and enjoyable. The wait was pretty long, especially during busy times, but the staff was friendly and helpful, which definitely made it better. Inside felt very crowded, so it wasn't the most comfortable experience when it's packed. Overall, it's a good spot and worth trying, especially if you don't mind waiting. Was walking around Downtown Gilbert and decided to pop in. I originally was just going to take a look at their menu and leave, but then sitting on the counter display was this huge cinnamon roll, the size of an entree-size takeout box. Dang ... not only the biggest cinnamon roll I've seen so far (probably x3 the size of a normal one) but also not a bad price ($10) and super delicious! Some reviews note it to be dry, but mine was nothing of the sort ... fluffy, soft, and lots of that cinnamon sugar goo inside and caramelized at the bottom. Now that I'm hooked, I can't wait to check out some of their other items! Great vibe, friendly staff, quick service. read more

A combination of its cool mid-century modern vibes, and delicious menu really stands out. I think nothing exudes Gilbert hospitality and community like Liberty Market! The service was excellent. We didn't realize the restaurant was closing, because the waitstaff didn't rush us out. Everything we got was delicious, especially the jalapeño popper empanadas. My friend I was with makes the best empanadas, and they pass her taste test with flying colors! The place is very cute inside, with comfortable seating and tasteful decor. Overall a tasty brunch with a friend! I got the American standard with sausage gravy. The eggs were scrambled but not the style I'm used to, it almost resembled a plain omelette. The potatoes, biscuit, and gravy were tasty and it was a fairly large and filling portion. We ordered a blueberry pancake on the side to share, and while it was good, I thought it was rather small for $7. The highlight of the meal was my iced latte. The flavor was perfect! Service was great throughout the meal and the interior is cute. I was lucky to come on a weekend day when it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. I've been here several times and it's such a cute spot in downtown Gilbert! The food is always delicious, and I seriously dream about their espresso martinis! The only downside is that I've never been able to snag one of their giant cinnamon rolls. They look amazing, but no matter how early I come, they're always sold out. I'm not sure how many they make each day, but it's definitely a little disappointing to keep missing out on them. Service is consistently great, staff are friendly and attentive, but drinks can take a bit of time to come out. Parking can also be hit or miss; if you're lucky you'll find a close spot, but most times I end up parking a little farther away and walking over. The food was good but very limited and when I asked for fairly simple adjustments or substitutions the server informed me many things were not possible. We ended up finding something that worked for me though so in the end it was okay it just caused a lot of time and frustration and I'm not even that picky lol. Also just to note for those who don't eat pork they do not have turkey or chicken sausage or turkey bacon, but they do offer chicken chorizo. Their bread was fantastic for toast and homemade jam was delicious! I also enjoyed their espresso bar however I asked for an extra hot latte and it didn't get delivered until much later and was barely warm. It also took me forever to get the bill when she knew I was done as I had already had a to go box delivered. So the service seemed lacking. But I loved the circular booths, the general ambiance, and decor. The food was good just limited and the coffee was good but better if served hot. I strongly disliked the unisex bathrooms. Just in general women don't feel safe sharing private space like this w men, I just can't wrap my mind around how any establishment would allow this or think it's a good idea but perhaps that's just my opinion. Stopped by on a whim on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised! We were seated right away, plenty of seating both inside and outside, with shaded options for those warmer days. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. Everyone from the host to the two servers who helped us was incredibly friendly. What really stood out was how attentive our servers were. They checked in just the right amount and had a genuinely warm, easygoing vibe that made the experience even better. Now, the food! I went with the burger and fries, solid choice. The fries came out hot and crispy, just how I like them, and the burger itself hit all the right notes. The bun was soft and flavorful, toppings fresh, and those pickles? Chef's kiss My wife had the salmon BLT and really enjoyed it. I tried a few bites, beautifully made, though the salmon was a bit too fishy for my taste (and I usually love salmon), so that part didn't win me over. Overall, while the food didn't blow us away, everything was well-prepared, and the variety on the menu suggests it's a great spot to come back and try more. Popped in for a quick breakfast. Got the smothered breakfast burrito(I asked for the sauces on the side because I prefer eating a burrito with my hands). It was a large breakfast burrito, I got it with the chicken chorizo and all the flavors came through and were quite tasty. Both the sauces/salsa were very good as well and added great flavor. 09/21/2025 The last time I dined at Liberty Market was many years ago before they renovated the place. My friend really likes this place, so we went here for breakfast on a Sunday. I made a reservation on OpenTable for 9:30AM just in case. Checked in at the front desk and got seated right away in a booth nearby. Their breakfast menu has classic breakfast dishes, pancakes, scrambles, "Arizona Favorites", bakery items, various desserts, orange juice, espresso options (even Vietnamese iced coffee!), and breakfast cocktails. We both got the "American Standard" ($15) - 3 scrambled eggs, Liberty potatoes, biscuit, choice of bacon or sausage or sausage gravy. We chose bacon and switched out the biscuit for a pancake for an additional $2. I got a plain pancake, and my friend got the seasonal which came topped with a mixed berry compote. Eggs were lightly seasoned. The three pieces of bacon were crispy and cooked perfectly for my preference. Liberty potatoes are cooked with cheese and onion and had great flavor. The plain pancake had just the right amount of sweetness that I didn't feel the need to add maple syrup, and it was so fluffy. I tried a little of my friend's mixed berry compote and loved it - I wanted to jar it up and take it home! Our server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy but wasn't too loud, so we could easily hear each other. We had a great breakfast and would definitely come back again. On a separate occasion, I had picked up a giant cinnamon roll ($9) - it was dense but had good flavor and would be good to share with a small group. read more

This is our fourth visit to liberty market. The service is always friendly and the food is consistently good. It's a great place to have a meal before heading over to the Hale Theatre for a show. I ordered the salmon and told them they could keep the polenta because I wasn't a fan. They were nice and gave me some mashed potatoes instead. Okay but let's talk about the BREAD. Idk what they put in it but it was perfect. The butter spread was also divine! I don't like to put too much for everyday use, but I would've paid $10 for a stick of that, it was that good. The bread was too good, it made everything else taste not so much. Or maybe I was just so full that the pizza overdid everything. The service was lovely. My sister in law wanted to order something but they were out of it and the waiter made some jokes and was super funny. I'm sad I can't remember his name. He was also super sweet to my nephew! It was dinner and it was a bunch of low lighting for some nice ambience but like a ton of low lighting where it was medium. If that makes sense. Have gone before and will come back in the future! I can't wait to go back to this place. That damn good. The service was quick, accurate & genuinely friendly. The arty atmosphere, upscale funky layout with nods to the buildings' history while still nailing the contemporary design aesthetic, replete with pops of color, a beautiful counter with chrome swivel stools, cozy booths, great layout and lots of natural light. Their well conceived (& executed) menu made me want to try EVERYTHING. In addition to their outstanding service, the manager checked on my table of just moi, as I sipped my roasty cup of java, savored my sexy breakfast and realized that the people behind and at Liberty Market changed my day. My not so fun day turned into that good feeling you get from a business that takes care of their patrons. Ah, heavenly indeed! Menu pick: Try the prettiest Avo Toast ever topped with paper-thin, locally grown rainbow radishes (they source local) & my addition of eggs were scrambled to perfection - fluffy, warm, perfectly seasoned. OK before you ask or get your hopes up the watermelon drink did not come from here. It came from the farmers market, I had avocado toast, which was bursting with flavor it Has watermelon radishes on the top has a little bit of a kick just and perfect seasonings. Did order a side of bacon which I will never do again here they do not have good bacon here flavorless and super greasy sausage on the other hand was quite good. The place is clean along with the bathrooms that are very nice and clean always a plus. There were a couple snafu's. I asked for one egg ended up getting two only ate one was still charged for the two and we asked for a hot Matcha and it came iced so a little disconnected there so they need to go back to paper writing down orders instead of trying to remember.. read more

Always an amazing meal at Liberty Market. Long time Gilbert resident, have been coming here as long as I can remember. Came to unwind after a rough few days at work. Had an amazing Old Fashioned with Eagle Rare bourbon, made perfectly to my liking. Service was amazing, drinks, appetizers and food as well. I got the JoJo's fried chicken Sammie's, wife got the short rib pasta. Everything was perfect. Completely dead when we walked in at 5pm, super packed when we left at about 6. Walked in with my baby looking for somewhere to spend about 30 minutes. The hostess ordered me a chai (oat milk) and I had to ask about a food item to go with it. I must not have been clear that I was looking to sit down and asked if I could just sit at a table by the window (clearly not a "section" that was open yet as it was still early). There was light music playing which allowed for conversation if you were meeting up with someone, and the window was perfect for my little one to watch the cars go by outside. My chai was brought in a to go cup, it was alright. Nothing special. The blueberry scone was brought on a plate, warmed up, and it was decadent! Quite sweet for my personal taste, but my baby enjoyed little bits of the inside. The server came by to see if I wanted some water and the hostess cleared the plate once I was done. Liberty Market has been on my list of places to try for over 3 years. I used to live very close to downtown Gilbert but once I moved to Tempe, it fell off my radar. Thankfully, I went to visit my old roommate and fellow Yelper, Derek Y, who still lives near there and we decided to visit liberty market-- excellent decision. The interior of the restaurant is very open with high ceilings & exposed beams. The decor is very cute and understated. We arrived around 11am on a Saturday, which is a very busy time in that area. I was starving and hoping it wouldn't be too busy. It kinda was. So we put our name on the waiting list and asked for first available. We were told it could be 30 minutes, so the hostess said that the bar area is first come, first serve. We hovered around the bar area ready to swoop in. We probably waited less than 10 mins and grabbed a couple bar seats as they opened up. From the moment we sat down, it was all good from there. Our server was attentive, friendly, and just a pleasure to chat with. We ended up splitting the White Pizza and a huge cinnamon roll. Both were very good. I'm glad we decided to share, otherwise it would have been too much food. The portions are nicely sized here. I looked at the plates of other diners and everything I saw looked great. I would like to come back and get breakfast. Hopefully it'll be sooner than another 3 years. Great place! read more

It has been a few years since I was last here and it didn't live up to my memories. The interior is retro and fun. We sat at the bar and service was fine. The grilled chicken pasta was just odd. On our way to a play at the Hale Theater and decided to try the Liberty Market. We were immediately seated and soon our waiter arrived, introduced himself and took our drink order. After our drinks arrived we started off with the Jalapeño Empanadas as an appetizer. They were very light, flakey, and the avocado salsa was very tasty. For our entrees my wife ordered the Hollywood Cobb Salad, not exactly what she expected it truly was more of a chopped salad, but overall a good large portion. I had the Grilled Chicken Pasta, large portion, the pasta was like macaroni, maybe cavatappi pasta? It was well seasoned, flavorful sauce, and the smoke mozzarella really elevated it, but I didn't taste any bacon in it. I am lucky to live just a few minutes from this restaurant. I've been coming here since 2017 and have never had a bad thing. They remodeled the restaurant in 2022 and now it's one of the best in the downtown Gilbert area. The most recent time I went to Liberty Market was June 15, 2025 and I had the chilaquiles without egg. I asked for some veggies and they added zucchini, which really elevated the dish. I have been craving this ever since I have it and will likely return to the restaurant soon to order this again. It was so friggin' good. I have also had the elote pizza, which sounds interesting but it was really good. I think I ate the whole thing. I have also had the vegan power bowl, which is also really good. Every time I go here the food is fresh, flavorful and the service is always on par. read more

I've never been to Liberty Market for dinner. I highly recommend it! Between the two of us we had the Burrata with pesto and balsamic glaze, the house-made focaccia with honey butter, the Jojo's crispy chicken sandwich, and a small Caesar salad. Not a negative comment for any of them. Might be my new go to spot on my way home from work or in restaurant meal with friends. Oh, and the service was really good. read more

so I've been eating here for years, and I love it. I'm disappointed that the Italian scramble or whatever they called it, isn't on the menu anymore, but that's OK. I also come here for my birthday for the $10 off your meal that they offer. I showed up on my birthday and sat at the bar by myself. I told the bartender it's my birthday and I've been coming here for my birthday for the past 15 years, except for last year. He said happy birthday and that was that. I ordered my breakfast, I ordered my coffee, I ate, I enjoyed myself, and then when he presented to check to me, he said, "oh just so you know we don't do the birthday thing anymore". I'm just kind of curious why he didn't say that to me the minute I told him I was there for my birthday instead of waiting until after I ordered and ate my meal. It wouldn't have hindered my decision to eat, I would have still ordered food, but it wouldn't have felt so shady, waiting until the end of my meal to tell me they weren't offering the promotion anymore. If I had never said anything, and he didn't know, I could totally understand him, telling me that at the end of my meal when I told him it was my birthday... But starting the conversation off and telling him exactly why I was there and him not offering up the information, just felt weird. It's not going change my mind, I don't hate this place, I'm not going to stop eating here or anything like that. I just think it's a teaching moment. ...... but seriously, bring back that Italian scramble. It was sublime. read more

We started our Fourth of July with breakfast at Liberty Market (very fitting!!) This was my first time trying Liberty Market since moving to Gilbert, so I was very excited to check out this cute, vibey, mid-century (?) establishment. My immediate impressions were that the staff are SO warm and welcoming & that their iced lattes are delicious. I had ordered a vanilla iced late and chilaquiles w/ green chile pork, a personal interesting combo, but overall, really good! Next time I am 100% trying the biscuits & gravy. Food: I hope their other menu items are better than the chilaquiles. Probably the worst chilaquiles I've ever had. If you like marina sauce they probably use for their Italian dinner items spiced up, then this is your spot. Then bagged chips get tossed in and sauced with a sprinkling of a parm Cotija blend? Chef ?? What are you doing back there in the kitchen ? Pancake was just ok and the syrup was watered down and added very little to the pancake. Coffee was good ! Service was just ok. No chit chat all business and transactional. Ambiance: it's supposed to be retro but it didn't hit my retro soul. One and done on this place. We came early on a Saturday morning during peak Farmer's Market season - we were lucky we got there around 8:30 am because when we left about an hour later, the line was around the block! Liberty Market was worth the wait though, I'm sure! We had a fabulous meal. I had the veggie scramble with a biscuit and jam. It was wonderful! There are not enough good things to say about this place! The food was some of the most flavorful and incredible food I have had in Phoenix. The scallops were perfectly balanced and cooked to perfection- Gordon Ramsey would even approve. The appetizers definitely got the meal off to a good start, and the portions were decent for the price paid. I really liked the decor of the place, and how they highlighted the almost 100 year history of the spot over the bar. The only downside was that our server changed halfway through the meal, and while our first waitress was attentive and really helpful, the second server seemed to be pulled in too many directions. It was a super busy night though, so I am sure it is not the standard. Overall, I will definitely be returning here! read more
