When you're here, you have to order katsu. We ordered the cheese Mateus because it was the most photographed item on the menu - after the fried rice. We read there were only four pieces of katsu so we ordered our own plate and fried chicken to share. There was a machine where you can place your an order so a place for introverts as well. At first, we thought the price for four katsu was expensive but it's actually a lot of food and you do get full. It comes with a salad, a pasta salad, and rice. The cheese katsu tastes really delicious at first. The cheese was hot and just melts off. However, if you're a slow eater or eating with company so you're talking, the cheese on the katsu does harden and the melt affect is gone. So if you're not eating alone, I would suggest ordering one toe share or one without cheese. The fried chicken was really delicious and does not get enough love. It is hands down the best one I've had. The sauce is amazing and made us want to savor it and use it to dip everything in afterwards just because it was so delicious. We went back and had the regular dduk boki as well which was solid but not quite as good. Another great item was the korean fried chicken - crispy, flavorful and juicy. We ended up having the creamy udon, takoyaki, and tornado fried rice as well. These were all decent as well. The place: Small little order at the counter shop. Love this restaurant! Went there yesterday for the first time with my friend and was very impressed. We both got the pork katsu and we got so much food. (It did got $17 though). There's plenty of seating and the decor is so cute! We both ordered at a kiosk and then waited about 15 minutes for our food, which was okay since they had a lot of people there. The Porklet The name alone inspires curiosity. When I visited them I met Keon, the owner. This business is a few months old but they're busy! The spot is well-lit and clean. The dishes are named just enough to make me giggle. There's pork, chicken wings, and udon on the menu. Something to go back to try is their udon. What I sampled: 1. The Cheeselet- limited daily availability. Mozzarella cheese wrapped in a pork loin cutlet. It comes with the same side as the chiclet below plus the mac salad. 2. The Chicklet- chicken breast cutlet. Included sides are miso soup, cabbage salad, pickles, and the Porklet sauce. 3. The Tornado Fried rice- spam and bacon. Mix them all in there and chow! 4. Oh my god this place is amazing! They have the best prison and food in Denver hands down! My husband and I went and I took my girlfriend the very next day. Both times the order was the same. Their pork let katsu which comes with an amazing cabbage salad that has a poppy seed dressing. That cabbage salad on top of the pork. Lip was amazing. The bad: The Porklet is between my house and the gym, dooming whatever progress I may make this winter. The good: Everything so far! I can't wait to try the entire menu. The chicken wings were amazing- I love spicy, so they could have been hotter but they were still amazing and a reasonable price ($12) for the size of 6 wings (I was actually given 7- bonus!). The porklet ($17) was fantastic. As other reviewers have noted, there are two large cutlets with sides and a really good sauce. Next time I will also order the larger side of mac salad. As someone who's eaten at hundreds of ramen shops and dozens of tonkatsu shops in Japan and in the US, I can't say I'm impressed with the ramen in Denver. But the tonkatsu...that's a different story because The Pork・Let is really good. The tonkatsu is prepared similar to the best shops in Tokyo, using two hand-breaded, panko-coated, pork cutlets that give a light and juicy flavor. This is in contrast to the usual frozen "tonkatsu" one usually encounters that are breaded with tightly packed flour and cornmeal, frozen, and then fried. Other parts of the meal were pretty good, such as the miso soup and the inclusion of finely shreded cabbage. This is a tonkatsu meal that is comparable to those in the $30-40 range in Tokyo. There are minor quibbles here and there: the cutlets could be a touch thicker to be among the best I had in Japan; the miso soup could've had additional ingredients like seaweed and tofu; I did not care for the heavy and sweet black sesame salad dressing on the cabbage, instead preferring the light oil-vinegar dressing that I had at Narikura in Tokyo. That said, this is an impressive achievement of making tonkatsu in the US that is worthy and enjoyable to eat. It may well be the best tonkatsu I've had stateside. I hope The Pork・Let keeps up the good work and I'm looking forward to my next visit to Denver already. read more

Very tasty food, but I have a few caveats. Yelp has this categorized as Japanese, but this not strictly Japanese, but is more of a Korean/Japanese fusion. Also note that this is a fast casual place, you place your order at the counter then they deliver it to your table. As long as you are ok with it being non-traditional, then you are in for a treat. The Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) was very, very good. It was juicy, light, and crispy. The sauce with it was different than I'm used to, but was very good. Pork cutlet, tonkatsu in Japanese and donkkaseu in Korean is fried pork chop breaded with panko. It is similar to but not exactly schnitzel because the pork is not pounded thin. The Pork.Let serves Korean style cutlets. They were cooked to order, very crispy and came in two chops cut into 4 or 5 strips each. The sauce tasted like it was made from fermented bean paste, less sweet and vinegary than the Japanese tonkatsu sauce. One of the two sides was a macaroni salad which was okay. There were a few slices of pickled cucumber, but kimchi or pickled daicon would seem more appropriate. Overall, the cutlets were good and worth a return trip. Note the restaurant is self served and customers are expected to bus their own table after eating so I would suggest to limit the tip when you pay upfront. read more

Loved the presentation of each dish and the quality of the skills to create each item. I had a nice lunch on a Friday and when we arrived the restaurant was empty. However as we were leaving the tables began to fill up. Lots of indoor seating in the fast causal restaurant with cute wall accents and decor. No outdoor dining options. Very simply and clean! There is a kiosk to order your meal but we ordered from the one front house staff person. We ordered the Tornado Fried Rice ($12.95), Cheesy Dust wings ($12), Cheeselet ($16.95) limited daily availability, and Porklet Sweet Potato sticks. Overall I enjoyed the meal but was not super impressed with some of the items. I loved the tender and crispy Porklet! It was perfectly battered and fried. I wasn't a fan of the signature sauce and would prefer a curry sauce or Bulldog tonkatsu type sauce. The signature sauce was more like an Italian marinara, tomato ish with a touch of oyster or Worcestershire like mix. I was not a fan. I did enjoy the cabbage side with the sesame dressing. I did not like the flavor of the Mac salad side. The other dishes were also served with a pineapple and sweet cheese sauces. I also would pass on these sauces. The sweet potato sticks were tasty but preferred them without the sauces. The cheesy dust wings were perfectly battered and fried. It was different and tasted good but prob would order another flavor the next time I visit. The Cheeselet was not impressive for $16.95 but I could see others enjoying the entree and cheesy pull. Not much chicken and mostly mozzarella. Also perfectly battered and fried! Also not a fan of the signature sauce it's served with. I'm not sure. It was good but not the best I've had. The egg and omelette was perfection and definitely made by a chef with some skills. I did enjoy the spam and corn in the fried rice. The service is also not the greatest for the pricing. The staff person could be friendlier and up front should probably tell people when their food is ready. I didn't realize that you had to grab your own food from the counter. They definitely use quality ingredients but the prices do seem high for a fast causal spot that you have to buss your own dishes in dust bins near the trash. I totally understand wages and workforce challenges but it might be good to tell the customer the procedure after ordering and cleaning up after you're done dining. Overall I love certain entrees like the Porklet, wings and some elements of the signature Tornado Fried Rice like the omelette quality, but not all the dishes impress me to want to come back as a regular. I would still recommend checking it out but be prepared for the price and the unexpected flavors of their signature sauces. I go back-and-forth on my review of this place because the quality, presentation, portion size and the skill to create these dishes is definitely a four-star, but my experiences for my first time visit wasn't that impressive for the price and flavors of some dishes. Driving around Aurora, it is easy to find good Korean food. With plenty options to choose from, it is also easy to get overwhelmed. That in turn tends to make me indecisive, which in turn makes me more "hangry". On one of these days that we were driving around to suppress my hangriness, we stumbled across this little gem. This place is easy to miss because it is small and sandwiched between to larger restaurants ( Mr. Kim and Aki Hotpot). Where they lack in size, they make up in delicious food. I have yet to try everything on their menu but that's just a reason for me to keep coming back. What I say is that I highly recommend their crispy wings and their tornado fried rice. The wings are so damn juicy on the inside but light and crispy on the outside. It comes with a sweet dipping sauce but I never use it. Chase that crispy goodness with the tornado fried rice and you have yourself a party in your mouth! The tornado fried rice is an explosion of goodness on its own but pairing it with the wings is something your mouth will get addicted to quick. The fried rice is topped with semi runny egg twisted to look like a tornado. Looks raw but trust me, it is cooked to perfection. The mound is surrounded by this gravy type sauce. Gravy is damn good, but pro tip: it is even better when you dip the chicken in it. The workers there only compliment the place. They get the food out pretty quick and I have yet been there to see a dirty dining area. You have a choice of ordering from a kiosk, or order direct from one of the employees there. I have tried both ways and both my orders were perfect. You can tell they take pride in their cooking because I sometimes catch them looking at customer's reaction to ensure that they are happy. They have probably caught me doing the happy dance while I eat several times. This is a small restaurant so there are maybe 10 tables to sit in. But the tables are always occupied when I am there. So I suspect it isn't an easy task for 1, maybe 2 people to maintain them. I know that there are several Korean fried chicken spots ion the Aurora area, but what sets this apart from most of the chicken places is that they are consistent with their product. All the times I have eaten here, I feel like the dishes tasted just as great as every other time I have dined here. You also have a different variety of dishes that you may not get from other KFC spots. You have a burrito, sandwich, and bowls options. And what also stands out is the price. Staff was quick to take my order and the place itself is tiny but still nicely organized and clean. The prices are kinda expensive but the portion that I got was pretty filling. The egg on the fried rice was the perfectly cooked as in cooked through safely but still a little creamy and luscious.
