Dumpling House is one of the greatest restaurants ever created, but not for the reasons you might expect. Sure, the dumplings taste amazing, but that is almost too normal of a reason to like it. Dumpling House is amazing because dumplings are basically tiny edible packages. Every time you eat one, it feels like you are opening a present, except instead of getting socks for Christmas, you get meat and vegetables. I believe all presents should work this way. Another reason Dumpling House is amazing is because dumplings have an extremely efficient shape. Nobody wants to eat a food shaped like a traffic cone or a bicycle. Dumplings are small, roundish, and easy to pick up. You could probably fit several dumplings in your pockets, although I would strongly recommend not doing that. Still, knowing that it is physically possible makes Dumpling House better. Dumpling House is also amazing because dumplings look like tiny pillows. This is important because pillows are associated with comfort and relaxation. Obviously, sleeping on a dumpling would be a terrible idea, but eating something that looks slightly like a pillow makes the meal feel more peaceful. Scientists probably have not researched this, which means I am basically discovering a new field of science. Another incredible feature is the name "Dumpling House." It sounds like the dumplings actually live there. I like to imagine hundreds of dumplings waking up every morning, brushing their imaginary teeth, and getting ready for another day of being dumplings. A restaurant called Dumpling Building would sound boring, and Dumpling Apartment Complex would sound ridiculous. Dumpling House is clearly the perfect name. The restaurant is also amazing because dumplings can survive being stabbed by chopsticks. Most foods would look completely defeated after getting attacked by two wooden sticks, but dumplings somehow keep their dignity. Picking one up successfully also makes you feel like you have accomplished something. It turns dinner into a tiny skill competition where the prize is getting to eat. Dumpling House also deserves credit because dumplings are one of the few foods that could probably be used as currency in a better society. Imagine going to a store and buying a new pair of shoes for 400 dumplings. Instead of banks having piles of boring money, they would have giant refrigerators. Inflation would become a much more confusing problem, but at least everyone would have snacks. Another reason Dumpling House is amazing is because saying the word "dumpling" repeatedly becomes extremely funny. Dumpling. Dumpling. Dumpling. By the fifth or sixth time, it barely sounds like a real word anymore. Very few restaurants serve a food whose name can provide entertainment before your meal even arrives. That is basically free value included with your dinner. In conclusion, Dumpling House is amazing for reasons far beyond the actual food. Dumplings are edible presents, tiny pillows, possible pocket food, chopstick challenges, imaginary currency, and residents of their own mysterious house. Other restaurants might have good food, but they cannot compete with that level of weirdness. Therefore, Dumpling House deserves to be considered one of humanity's greatest achievements, somewhere between electricity and whoever invented weekends. read more

Weekend Chinese Breakfast Review - Waking up at 7:30 in the morning to get here by 8:30 for Chinese breakfast wasn't typically in the cards for me on a Sunday but decided to meet up with a group of friends to give this place a try. Heard so many great things! The breakfast is only from 8-2 on Saturdays and Sundays. Come early as they could run out of items. Upon walking in the owner was so nice and helpful. We had a group of 7, the dining area is small but had a few groups of 5-7 parties. They make everything as the order comes in so please be patient. We had the Chinese fried breadstick - youtiao, savory tofu pudding, sesame flat bread, rice ball with salted egg yolk and pork floss added, Chinese crepe wrap with pork floss added, we also ordered the pork and century egg wontons. Having this for breakfast really made me homesick, not exactly the same type of food I grew up with but close enough resemblance. Everything was so tasty, the breadstick was airy and fluffy, the savory tofu pudding had a lot of woodear flavor in the gravy/sauce. Great to add more vinegar to the bowl. My favorite is the rice ball, so flavorful with pickled mustard, tea egg, breadsticks and pork floss added. The crepe wrap was good but our group thought it was a little on the salty side, probably cuz of the luncheon meat and the sauce, but overall great flavor. I definitely will be coming back on the weekends for this. I wish it's an all day thing. Have not tried their dumplings so can't speak to their regular service. Clean restaurant, great food, definitely a specialty treat here and glad they decided to do the breakfast service. Come give them a try! read more

Nice, traditional Chinese breakfast spot with wonderful, helpful staff. We always order the fried dough, soy milk, and dumplings. The fried dough is a work of art--fluffy on the inside and super crispy on the outside. We've also tried their crepes, purple rice roll, and many other items, and everything has been consistently solid. Had this place on my list of foods to try. The food wasn't nasty or spectacular it was just okay. I got the soup dumplings and scallion pancakes. The sauce they paired it with was kinda like a soy sauce but had a little more depth and hint of sweetness and quite a bit of acidity. I would've liked to see them both paired with a thicker sauce that leans more on the sweet side. I don't have to particularly come back, but it's not a terrible option. read more

We stopped in for breakfast after seeing online they were serving it. I did not see it advertised on their website which is a shame because it was excellent! It is a small but mighty offering. We ordered the sweet tofu pudding, egg crepe wrap, Chinese breadstick, and soy milk. The portions were HUGE. I have to admit I am not familiar with Chinese breakfast offerings but the breadstick (really more like a doughnut?) was light, fluffy, and perfectly crispy and dipped into the soy milk, melted in your mouth. The tofu pudding was sweetened with brown sugar and had chewy boba in it. The egg crepe was savory and stuffed to the brim - we took half home because it was so large. The service was friendly and quick, and he helped us out a bit to understand the menu and the best way to enjoy what we ordered. The inside was bright and clean, and very simple counter serve set up. This experience goes back to several weeks ago when I stopped by Dumpling Factory because I had a craving for dumplings (in general.) I really didn't have any high expectations for this place because like many others have rated this place, what you get from here is frankly "mediocre" at its best but at the same time, it's not bad either. I appreciate this place though; it exists in my direct neighborhood. If I want to, I can walk to it. Quality does matter and yet for this business, I'd say I go here for convenience. Well, what is wrong is that, right? I tend to order the same thing again and again. I know I need to be more adventurous. I am almost positive that I got me the veggie dumplings (pan fried.) That is exactly what I got a few weeks ago as well. Very simple interior. As long as it's clean, artful decorations are not necessary. Service is consistently good; this is something I can positively talk about this place. The whole wait time before my veggie dumplings and edamame came out of the kitchen was probably 15 minutes or so. Not bad. At home, I savored my dumplings and edamame. Mmm...not impressive (like I said earlier in this review) and yet as long as it's decent, I'll take it. I need to explore more on the menu to get to know this restaurant. As much as I'd like to be honest about how I feel about their food they serve, if I only know a few items off the menu, it would not be fair to them to give them a mediocre rating. I stopped by for their traditional Chinese breakfast. It was delicious! The soymilk was fresh and unsweetened but they had sugar if you wanted it. I also got the fried breadstick which was light, crispy and not too oily. It was perfect for dipping into the hot soymilk. I also got the savory tofu pudding, which was almost like a soup. Silken tofu on the bottom with a hint of mala spice, shiitake mushrooms, black fungus and cilantro. The tea egg was perfectly cooked and pre cracked. The star anise flavor came through nicely. There was no one here when I came in. Breakfast is only on the weekends. While I was here, someone ordered off the regular menu as well so that's an option too. What a treat! This small, family owned restaurant offers a great variety on their menu without being overwhelming. We opted for the fried pork dumplings, the cheese won tons and the Xiao long bao. The dumplings were perfectly crispy and the pork and veggies inside were tender and delicious. The bao were also perfectly cooked with a great chewy consistency. The won tons were not my favorite - they had a cheesy filling but not a lot, and they were slightly over fried - too crispy. They came with a couple of packets of sauce. The Dumpling Factory is in a small strip mall, but there's ample parking. It's clean and bright with a few cute decorations but not a lot of ambiance. It would be great to be able to mix varieties of dumplings or order less than 12 of each kind. The noodles are where it's at! Spicy, flavorful and a big portion. So so good. The dumplings were filled nicely, had good texture but I wish they had more variety. The people who work there are very helpful, I had questions and the lady tried to answer but English wasn't her first language. A nice guy ran from the back to explain what I needed to know! The lack of ambience might turn some people away...but those folks are missing out. The pork buns, and xiao long bao, are both really good. My wife liked the oil splashed noodles (careful, there's a lot of garlic on these). The pork dumplings are your basic potstickers/gyoza...but better than the average. Came here on a Saturday around 2pm with the fams. My eight year old is a dumpling connoisseur so we were expecting big things. This place did not disappoint. The lady behind the counter was super nice and sweet. What we swallowed: *PEACH SLUSHIE: This was lacking flavor. Perhaps they needed to add another scoop of powder or something. *LYCHEE SLUSHIE: This one was so good. It was not too sweet, not too mellow. The flavor was just right. *SALT PEPPER CHICKEN: This was my 10-year old's favorite. Crispy batter and moist chicken, what's not to love? *PORK BELLY BUNS: I love me some laughing buns and these were tasty. The bread was soft, the sauce wasn't too overpowering and the belly wasn't too fatty. This was great. 2 in an order. *XLB: Hot and delicious, although hot to eat without a soup spoon and then your mouth burns if you pop it in your mouth. The price we pay for delicious dumplings! *BEEF DUMPLING BOILED: These were good but I thought the green onion to beef ratio was a bit off (heavy on the green onion). My hubby loved it though. *PORK DUMPLINGS BOILED: These were a table favorite (second to the chicken). *OIL FRIED NOODLES: Accompanied by bok choy, these were really tasty. I was excited to try Dumpling Factory as I love fried dumplings. I ordered pork fried dumplings as that is my regular go to. The flavor of the pork, onion and cabbage was really good and the dipping sauce added some additional pop to the dumplings. The second item was cheese wontons. I liked the wontons even though they were really crispy and the cheese flavor inside was ok. I also was not a huge fan of the packaged sweet/sour sauce that came with it, as it was really sweet. The last item I ordered was Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). This was the first time trying them and I enjoyed them very much. The restaurant is very much set up for take-out, but there are a number of tables if you want to eat there. I enjoyed my first visit and look forward to going back to try the ramen dishes on the menu. read more

Not the best dumpling spot but I think they have potential to become better. I tried their Xia Long Bao, and I don't think they made it there. The skin was too thick and there were no soup in the soup dumpling. Also I didn't really like the fact that everything came in a to go container. I'm not sure why they did that for people who stay to eat, maybe they should get some bamboo steamers, plates and utensils for people who stay. I also tried their oil noodles and it was decent but nothing to ride home about. The bao bun with pork belly was decent but the pork belly was a little bit dry. I think we have a new go-to dumpling spot! There are many places to get dumplings in the Denver area but most are just-okay. Typical complaints from my dumpling-loving-kids is soup dumplings with no soup or poorly wrapped dumplings that fall apart. The folks at Dumpling Factory so it right! We tried pretty much all of their offerings and found ourselves very satisfied and impressed with their consistency. The small shop does mostly takeout business from what I could gather. This place is a bit lacking in quality of authentic food. I came with a friend and we ordered the XLB, Pork Belly Buns, Spicy Oil Noodles, and pork dumplings. Pork belly buns - kind of disgusting - it was covered in some kind of oyster sauce combination and took away from any semblance of the pork belly flavor i would definitely skip the pork belly. I found out about this place from a Denver foodie IG post and decided to try it out. I got the Xiao Long Bao and the Oil Splashed Noodles (added pork belly) and both were very very good. I wish they weren't so skimpy with the amount of pork belly but overall, a great dish. I got a complimentary order of cheese wontons and those were okay. Nothing to write home about. Seems like somewhere I would usually takeout from being that the inside was pretty small. My food was ready in under 30 minutes and the staff was very friendly. Party of two for a quick meal. Ordered a Ramen, fried chicken dumplings and fried beef dumplings to share. Quickly learned I prefer the steamed dumplings over the fried. Ramen was rich in flavor with traditional accoutrements. Portion size was lacking for the price. Staff was very friendly. Interior seating and decor was prison-esq.
