The Post is an award winning pizza joint (Food Network best slice in Kentucky!) and I can understand why. The service was attentive, staff friendly, and the pizza was delicious! Half of my party was pineapple on pizza, the other half just meats, thanks! We got both, and both were top notch. I especially love their chewy crust, and the cheese was plentiful (just how I like it) - the TMNT would've been proud.

I stopped into The Post for their advertised lunch special of salad, pizza slice, and beer, which Instagram lists around $8 or $9. The place was packed at the bar around 2:30 on a weekday, and the single guy working the counter was clearly busy. I ended up paying $12, which is higher than the online price, but it was still an OK value for what I got. The beer was just Coors on draft, no choices available for the special. The bartender was too busy to ask about swapping for a can, so that was a minus. Understandable given how full the bar was, but still worth noting. Pizza- The pizza slice was massive--easily the size of two regular slices. I've had their slices before and they're consistently huge and good. Today's combo was meatball, onion, and pineapple. It was very nice, with a nice sweetness that worked better than I expected. The crust was thin and crispy in that New York style. The Caesar salad had a delicious dressing and a solid portion. It came loaded with olives. I hate olives, but they actually added a good salty bite to the whole thing. Service at the bar was fast too--only about five minutes instead of the usual 20-minute wait for a slice. The guys next to me were raving about the calzone, so I'll try that next time. It's still one of the better lunch deals around in a world of $20 sandwiches.

We placed a to-go order for pizza at the Post. It was prepared quickly and was still hot when we picked it up. There was some parking in front of the business. The restaurant seemed to be a little busy and was spacious. The hostess that I engaged with was friendly and helpful. The pizza was really good and flavorful. The slices were huge. It was a thinner crust and wasn't greasy. I would definitely return in the future.

Going to the Post is never a bad idea, the food and drinks are always on point, and the atmosphere is welcoming. They have the games on in the bar area and a good selection of music playing as well. We stopped in for a Slice of Pizza, which were cooked perfectly and a beer so we sat at the Bar. The Bartender was very nice and efficient, even though she had a lot going on but always had a smile on her face. They offer a Slice of Cheese for $5 or a Slice of Pepperoni for $5.5 and then they have a rotating slice of the day which is also $5.5 - Today's special was Sausage, Mushrooms and Olive. They also have a Pizza of the month. For January is Vodka Sauce, fresh mozzarella and Basil which sounds absolutely delicious so I'll definitely have to come back before it's gone. For the local Calzone Lovers, like myself. They serve Calzones, with ....... Ricotta cheese!!!! If you know you know, a Calzone without Ricotta isn't a calzone at all, it's actually a Stromboli which so many restaurants mistake.

A Friday night visit with our teen sons - and it was a great spot for us to catch up. Service was fantastic. Our drinks were kept full, our order was accurate, and food came out hot. We started with a full order of breadsticks and marina. The 20" pizza was perfect for the four of us. Two HUGE slices each. The pepperoni and extra cheese were good. The pizza is thin and slim on sauce. Tables fill up and turn over fairly regularly. You may have a wait when you arrive. Bar area stays busy too. Patio is open during warmer months. I'd be cautious to take a large group here based on seating. Some parking in private lot. If you're only doing carry out they have two spaces reserved. Street parking is more likely so keep an eye out as you get closer to the restaurant.

I stopped at The Post for a solo dinner between activities on a beautiful Thursday evening about 6pm. Had heard great things about it. On such a pretty day, the parking lot was full and there was no street parking nearby either. I had to go into the pay lot next-door and the shortest amount of time it would allow me was two hours at a $12 charge. This could probably be avoided if you were willing to walk a little farther or at a different time of day. I noticed the inviting wooden deck style outdoor space with tables with umbrellas. I opted to eat inside. The style of decor fits with the neighborhood, a throw back to the past with simple wood tables and chairs, floors, and accents. There were vintage painted signs on the walls, which I assume were saved from when the establishment had been a VFW or American veterans Post. They add to the charm. There is a good size bar at one end of the building and a small dining room at the other end with some space in the middle. The hostess seated me right away, and although it was busy, I was surprised that there was space in the dining room for a table for one. I wish I had been hungry for pizza, but I wasn't and opted for a salad instead. The pizza I saw going by for those who ordered it looked and smelled amazing. The menu is pretty straightforward and not overwhelming. My order was taken quickly, and my cocktail and water were brought in a flash. As busy as they were, I was truly impressed with the speed of service. My server could not have been more perfect, she was friendly, fast and accurate. I ordered the full house salad and added grilled chicken. I opted for blue cheese dressing. My salad arrived very quickly. It was large and looked good. One disappointment was the lettuce. Menu said it was field greens, but it was mostly iceberg lettuce. I would like to have had more of the darker greens in it. And I would like to have had more of the other elements of the salad as opposed to so much iceberg lettuce. Still that is a minor observance, it was still a good fresh salad. The grilled chicken was nice and warm and well seasoned. Thin strips, which were fine. The blue cheese dressing was a surprise. It was thick with a lot of texture, which I liked, but it was surprisingly spicy! As in hot. I've never had blue cheese dressing with heat in it before. I can't say it didn't taste good, it was very flavorful, but I'm slightly wimpy when it comes to heat and it was right on the edge of being too much for me. I don't remember seeing anywhere on the menu that the blue cheese dressing had hot spice in it. A heads up would've been good but it was fine. Other than the overabundance of iceberg lettuce, which I consider tasteless, the salad was good and filling. Cocktail was perfection. Service was great. My meal and cocktail was $22 and change before tip. I thought that was comparable to similar restaurants in the area. All in all, it was a good experience and I would love to come back and try the pizza.

Ok so if you like thin crust pizza this is a place for you. Wifey got the cheese sticks and really enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised to see they offered Kalamata olives as a topping. I ordered pepperoni and Kalamata olives. There was a little mix up in the kitchen and I didn't get the pepperoni on the pizza. They offered a discount and to remake the pizza. I took the pizza as it was and a nice discount. It was one of the best pizzas I've had. They had a nice beer selection, including local beers which I always love to try. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Kentucky. The staff were also very attentive and took care of us.

Upon arrival I expected there to be more seating than offered. The building just feels like half a building when you sit inside. The signage and interior feels unfinished? Not in an intentional way, yes I had all these thoughts before the food came out. Cheese bread alone is a 5/5. I think I ate the entire thing without sharing. The calzones are great but can be improved. The cheese filling of ricotta and mozzarella are great however I think the calzone needs more dough. The oil and grease need somewhere to go from the cheese on the inside so more dough would help absorb that. There's a fantastic crust to the dish which makes each bite crispy and cheesy! I think it has potential, maybe at another location. But it's a good pizza place to get your cheese fixation.

Late night hunger sets in - and I'm the happiest that I found this place. What's better than a slice of pizza at midnight? We got here right before close and let me tell you, service was still wonderful. She was the absolute sweetest and made sure that we had everything that we could ever need. We ate one slice there and I did take some home as well. I wasn't expecting the slices to be as big/ny style - which was the best surprise. And honestly, the pizza was really great. I would absolutely recommend this place if you enjoy the ny style pizza. They also do a different daily special pizza. read more

It never fails. Excellent food, superb service, great beer selection. I wish I lived closer to put this into my rotation but I'll settle for every once in awhile. My group of 4 ate and drank to our hearts content with leftovers to spare. I highly recommend if you enjoy NY Style pizza. Cannot say enough about how amazing this food is! read more

The Post never disappoints! Most recently we got a meatball sub and the March special pizza (Reuben). We were most impressed with the meatball sub! I've been craving it ever since we ate it. Probably the best meatball sub I've ever had! The Reuben pizza was really good. I would say it's a little more Reuben adjacent rather than tasting like a Reuben, but I preferred it that way. Salty and sweet! The leftovers didn't last long! read more

Been here maybe 5 times and have never been disappointed with any pizza yet. The pizza of the month for March is French onion and it was awesome. The atmosphere is great. The slice of the day was green pepper, katamata olives and artichokes which one in our group said was delicious. So if you are looking for a great pizza with a different twist give The Post a try. read more

One of my co-workers raved about the food at The Post, so I finally gave in decided to come here for dinner with him one evening. It's a small place, so seating is sometimes a problem, but don't let that stop you - visiting The Post is totally worth a short wait! Service is smooth and friendly and the prices are reasonable. I've had the pleasure of enjoying The Post's pizza twice, once by delivery and another at their brick and mortar. If you were a tourist coming in to Louisville, I wouldn't be surprised if you were recommended to The Post for a great local pizza joint. It is, with fantastic pizza, tons of beer and cheap prices. Their pizzas are huge, with a majority of them being New York-style. I've had their buffalo chicken and pepperoni pizza, to which nothing disappointed. A lot of their pizzas also come with a drizzle - for example, I love to get ranch all over my pizza.. They also have a pizza of the month, with one being a Chicken and Waffle pizza....*insert heavy breathing here* I've only been to their restaurant once, and even though the food was fantastic, the wait to get our food took forever....Based on all of the other great reviews and praise that The Post has gotten, I will just assume they were having an off day that one time. The Post is without a doubt the best pizza that I've experienced in Germantown. I have yet to hear someone say that their not a fan, so the odds are that you will love it too! read more

I'm a little late to the party but definitely glad I showed up! I've always heard wondering things about this place but only during the pandemic did we finally decided to check this place out, curbside pick up of course! The process is easy and seamless, we order online, pick a time and just show up for pick up. We love the fresh ingredients, the, thin crust, the creative options and just how delicious it is. I tend to like more veggies on my pizza, the husband is a meat guy but we can still enjoy the same pizza by customizing our pizza. For a fun stress-free dinner, we pair our pizza with some Share Tea Boba tea. read more

The pizza was absolutely delicious!! I would go back again and try new flavors. My kids and husband each had a slice of pepperoni or cheese that was bigger than their head. I got the South Pacific and Chicken Dinner with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese. I only saved two slices of each so my husband could try them because it was so good! The restaurant itself was pretty awesome, as I was told it used to be an old VFW post. They had some great artwork and metal signs in the walls that were really interesting. Our server was very nice and helpful. The other servers, however, were swearing with my children right there, which I wasn't too happy about. I realize that doesn't bother most people but with small kids present, I wish they would've cleaned up their language. There was a young lady next to us that put her retainer in a napkin. When she realized it and came back to the table, they had thrown away the napkin already but wouldn't help her look for it or get it for her. Retainers are not cheap and the wait staff seemed not to care and pretty much said she was out of luck. Such a bummer for her! I realize that's not about food but the treatment from the wait staff. This place lives up to its reviews. Excellent. Outstanding. Near Perfect! We have been going around Louisville trying pizza places. We are not nearly done. But The Post has set the bar high. New into town and visited the post with my roommate. We are very disappointed to have had to wait 46 minutes to even get our bread sticks. We had the urge to order a medium; since it was already $15 for bread sticks and to add on another 30+ for a pizza just didn't sound right. In conclusion we're probably not going to eat pizza from Louisville any time soon this ruined pizza for me! read more

My buddy and I tried this place yesterday for the first time. I tried pepperoni pizza and a cheese pizza slice also. I will say that the slices are very large for a typical slice of pizza. It was a New York style pizza I had good flavor God seasoning little heavy on the garlic not much sauce which I know that's kind of what new York style Pizza is but I still want to get a little bit of a flavor sauce which was not much the pepperonis were good the only thing I'm Critical on is it had some kind of weird aftertaste on the crust itself so you eat the pizza with the cheese and everything and it's good with the crust at the end just can't lift a little aftertaste is still a good place so I'll give it a three and I would eat it again read more

Consistently good pizza. Love they serve by slice and offer a special slice of the day but you all know that... BUUuuuut have you tried their Italian sandwich? OH YEA, they nailed the landing! Have to admit I get torn between a slice or the italian sandwich because I don't want to miss out on the pizza if I order the sandwich. PROBLEM solved: get the half sandwich, a slice and favorite beer-- you will have no regrets guaranteed! read more

5 stars all around! My dining partner arrived first and put her name on the list. It was maybe a 5 minute wait to be seated once I arrived. With it being the inaugural pizza week, we were prepared for craziness to ensue. However, even though the place was busy, the service was amazing. I ordered a 12" cheese pizza and the Braxton wintertrip beer. First of all, hands down my new favorite beer. Tropical and light, it actually paired pretty darn good with the pizza. The pizza was hot, cheesy and foldable - all things I want in a New York slice. This pizza actually reminds me of a pizza joint in New York that I had over 10 years ago. The service, as stated, was amazing. Our server came back to check on us multiple times and didn't rush us out the door. Both times I've been to The Post, I've enjoyed it. I will definitely be back again. read more

We ordered a 20 inch pizza with multiple toppings, one being pickles. The entire pizza was covered in pickles. We picked them off and counted over 60 I am not sure if that was normal, but it was way out of proportion for the other toppings. Even the server said she had never seen so many. The Italian salad was delicious and the atmosphere is nice. The service was efficient. read more

What an amazing pizza place! Curb side service has been great and everyone is nice! We've ordered from this place a few times now and each time the pizza has been consistent and the prices have been awesome for what you get. The online ordering has been easy and fast and I've always gotten the right order! We love this style of pizza and the texture of the pizza dough has been in point. My wife doesn't eat a lot of pizza but she will absolutely destroy a slice no problem haha. Slice of the day is absolutely perfect when you just wanna pop in and enjoy a quick bite and drink with friends or solo. Tonight's slice was roasted red pepper, pineapple, and feta. Huge slices, $4.50. Tonight I stopped in alone, had a piece of pizza, an Old Forrester on the rocks (heavy pour), and left happy and with a $9 tab. I love this place so much. Recommendations: slice of the day, beer cheese with breadsticks, salads, and all their drink selections. Great atmosphere, gorgeous wooden bar, super clean restrooms, nice patio. Only con is that it's sometimes difficult to park without circling around! read more

So after having lived in Lou for over a year now there are two places that stand out as the places I most enjoy going to, the most welcome walking in the door, the most comfortable I feel at the bar, the best service, the most community-interwoven-ness, the most joy in supporting, and the most reliably fantastic food, beer, and cocktails each and every time I go... The Post and Monnik. I will review Monnik for their page, this is obv for Post. I love everything about this place, and while I'd love to say it's the food I think of first it is not, it's the comfort I feel walking in the door and grabbing a seat at the bar where I've become a regular (back before COVID momentarily took it away). Yes, Post is about 3 blocks from my house and thus my go-to if I want to stroll out for a beer and a bite (Coors draft and a cheese slice... wait, what's the slice of the day?), but it's also a consistent meeting place for friends, whether on purpose or by chance. But the pizza! Oh damn, the pizza. The calzones and sandwiches are all so great but I never get them because, the pizza! Whether it's my go-to regular or the pie-of-the-month shared with friends, it always is spot-on. There's something about that crust... I can't finish this without mentioning one last thing, both Monnik and The Post have been strong for their neighbors and neighborhoods during the COVID crisis, providing extra precautious handling of our orders and doing their part to give back and support other businesses in the area during a rough time for everyone. I'm proud to have them around and I'm proud to support them. Cheers! read more

First time here! I admit there was a little bit of a wait with the seating and the service but I saw their help wanted sign so I assumed they might be understaffed. We started with the pesto bread and it was an excellent starter. I highly recommend it with ranch or bbq sauce. Let's get to the pizza. We decided on the southern pacific since we are firm believers in pineapple on pizza. Oh. My. Gosh. SO GOOD. The balance of sweet and savory was just spot on and all the toppings to the crust made that possible. This is the best pizza I have had! I truly believe barstool was wrong with their judgement. All I will say is Oh My GOD their pizza is ssssooo good. I got the Build Your Own pizza with is a 12 inch New York Style Crust Pizza. The toppings I had was steak, meatballs, black olives, mushrooms with ricotta cheese and mozzarella with a garlic olive oil sauce. Due to Covid-19 everything is curbside and you have to order online. Nice little parking lot and the service was prompt. I've been wanting to try The Post for quite some time, so #YelpsBigNightIn was the perfect time! Covid-19 has hit businesses hard recently, so I'm wanting to give my support as often as I can. I conveniently placed my order online and set up a time to pick it up. If you plan on ordering on a busier night, I would recommend placing your order a few hours beforehand, that way you're able to get your pizza at the time you are wanting. When we arrived at The Post, someone promptly came out to confirm our order and take our payment. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves, and maintaining a distance between themselves and people in their cars. In total the whole process took maybe 10 minutes. Given the current situation and how busy they were, I think that was very reasonable. Now onto the pizza! I'm a fiend for bbq chicken pizza. I discovered it this past year, and since then, I just can't get enough. Luckily, my husband enjoys it as well. This bbq chicken pizza was phenomenal. It had the perfect ingredient combination: bbq sauce, grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and red onion. You can also get bleu cheese or ranch drizzle on top, but I opted to not get that. The crust was crispy on the outside, but also had a soft chewiness to it, which I really enjoy. It took serious willpower not to dig into this pizza on the way home. Heard about this place from a few co-workers that told me this pizza is really good. So what do I do??? I go and try it. I order takeout and it's about a 30 min. pickup time, no big deal. I will say the place is a bit tricky to find and you must look carefully. It's next to Four Pegs. I go inside to pick up my order, very clean on the inside. Greeted with great customer service and got everything in a timely manner. Absolutely satisfied with the way my pizza looked just the right amount of cheese and pepperoni. Very big slices too. This has made my top picks for local pizzerias. I highly recommended to any and all pizza lovers. read more

Ok so friends and i ordered out 2x and i am basing this off the better experience but will also talk about the other time. Anyone i've asked about where to get pizza says it get it here and after reading reviews i was hypeddd to try it. PLEASE GET THE NY SLICE omfg being from ny i can honestly say the Post does a SOLID job on those. They're huge slices for a reasonable price i think? But it's crunchy nice bite that ppl always talk about/look for from a slice of pizza and cheeeesy. The supreme slice/veggie was super tasty i want to try their other slices now! K so that said my first experience ordering out was NOT NY slice--AVOID AVOID AVOID i don't know what we got but it was a much smaller pie and idk why but it tasted completely different, i thought it was like pizza you get frozen or at a cafeteria i don't even know and i was so disappointed after hearing how good this place was. Ok, I have to agree with the pres. This place is not impressive. The slices are big, but not too crazy tasty. And the slice I got was not even hot. Service was slow. So I at least assumed that means they were cooking it good. Nope! And the pizza literally left a bad taste in my mouth. Just now getting rid of it. I will not be going back. Maybe some people have good reviews. Maybe it's just because I got a slice and not a whole pizza. But I unfortunately didn't have a good experience. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The place was fairly busy so that was a good sign! Service was a bit slow, but food was out fast after we ordered. We shared a Caesar salad, which was tasty with the not so usual olives added. The giant slice of pepperoni was giant! It came out piping hot. Had to knife and fork it at first! Crust had a nice chew and was not over or underdone. Would like to come back and order a whole pie next time. read more

We had visited The Post twice, We drove to Louisville from California for a convention after arriving at our VRBO I called the post and ordered 2 pizzas. Not knowing how far and any parking restrictions I left immediately after they said it would only take 15 minutes, I arrived within 5 minutes sat at the bar and paid for my order. Since the order was not ready I order a beer to drink while I was waiting which the staff immediately comped for me. Took the pizzas home and they were excellent and flavorful. We returned latter in the week with a group of 10 and were immediately seated even though they were fairly busy. Everyone ordered a variety of items from pizza to calzone and appetizers, to include a gluten free pizza. Everyone liked there dishes. They had Nords Donuts for food for this event. Beer and Donuts? Very odd combination, was hoping for The Post Pizza or something that was real food. It was free so no complaints other than it was an odd combo. Note: they don't serve food at Nachbar. The inside is kinda dated and there is good seating. Bathrooms are set up like Mag Bar and Kerns Korner. IFYKYK. The outside is more spacious than the inside. They do have a nice patio. As for the inside it looks cool and they have plenty of board games and plenty of local beer on taps that you don't see at most bars. I wouldn't come here on a regular basis but, the local beer selection is a hit with me.

She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. My salad never made it to the table. Nick was mortified and offered to make it right with dessert (which I politely declined). The steak was good and was cooked rare, the way I asked. The weird thing was that the rare steak tasted dry - maybe it was the rub, but a rare steak should not taste dry. Almost like it was cooked medium. I told Nick I liked the steak but it might have been the seasoning that made it taste dry. They comped the steak. Outstanding. They earned a star back. Craving pizza. wished to give back to the community. It's the Post all right! It had been a while since I had one of The Post's delicious slices, but I was able to make up for lost time by placing an order through the restaurant's website. We were served The Italian Campaign, which is essentially The Post's take on a margherita pizza. The 20-inch pizza was huge, just like a pizza made in the New York style ought to be, with extra-large slices. The dough and the sauce on this pizza both have a nice chewy texture, however the sauce is a little bit hot. The pizza was still of high quality despite the fact that by the time it arrived at my house, it was no longer as hot as it had been when it was originally packaged up and sent to customers. As long as we're talking about getting to my place, the pick-up procedure went off without a hitch. It was comforting to see that The Post is implementing additional safety measures, especially in light of the fact that the COVID-19 shutdown is currently in progress. (The person who did end up picking up the pizza was really my spouse.) When you place an order, you will be asked for the make and model of your automobile. My husband pulled up to the drive-through window, and a staff who was concealed behind a mask approached his vehicle to collect the payment. Shortly after that, the employee brought out the pizza. In addition, we received breadsticks, which, much like the pizza dough, had the ideal amount of chewiness. To tell you the truth, The Post's game with the money is strong. The Post is known for its extensive selection of unique pizzas and its availability of beer to go. In the midst of all this unpredictability, the deliciousness of their food is a welcome diversion. read more

This is my favorite lunch spot in the city. I find a way to get up there 2-3 times a month. Great beer selection and the Pesto bread makes my mouth water just thinking about it, but the Pizza is king. I usually get the Slice of the day but when I'm with a group we sometimes get the "Riveter". The Riveter is happiness. Meatballs, Provolone, basil and banana peppers. This is New York Style at it's best. If you are new to town you may have noticed this city loves thick pizza with tons of toppings. This Pizza has great crust , awesome sauce and comes with friendly service. Keep up the great work! read more

I never had New York Style pizza in Louisville, so I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. My family each had a slice. Cheese, pepperoni and the house special. We also had an order of the cheese sticks. All were fabulous. Great service with reasonable prices. Really good atmosphere with an area to watch football games in the back, more tables in the back and a great deck. We don't venture out to Germantown much, but man, this place lived up to the hype! read more

The Post was a great place to have a good time! It has a fantastic atmosphere, particularly the massive choice of craft beers on the tap. The new York Style Pizza was huge and tasty, just like you would want a pizza bar to be. We have also tried the South Pacific Pizza and the toppings were fresh and delicious. Great Pizza Joint! The place is small but has a great decor and atmophere. Pizza and salads are great and is a great price.The pizza has a great flavor that sets it apart from your typical cheese pizza. You can also buy by the slice and get a giant new york style slice that is the size of a kid's pizza. read more

The post is a phenomenal place and don't think pizza when you go. Their pies are far more than the average pizza. The flavor is nothing of what your expecting, it feels very gourmet and the flavor blend very well! I would 100% suggest this to anyone out of town as a place they must try. read more

Simply the best! Never had a bad pie here. Slices are usually pretty quick and filling. You can grab a slice and a beer for $5 and be completely satisfied! Very comfortable and laid back atmosphere, too. read more
