One of my favorite spots. Pizza is fantastic, and the slice counter always has a good variety of options. For what it's worth, I'd highly endorse the Tommy Two Times (basically double pepperoni) and add garlic or the cheeseburger pizza (often in the slice counter), but I haven't had a bad one yet. Cocktails are amazing. Plenty of everyday options (broken hatchet I enjoy any time, but it feels like a cozy seat by the fire if you need some fall vibes), and the bartender-created seasonals never disappoint! Bartenders are awesome!!! PSA: try the peanut butter tequila. Yes, I, too, was highly skeptical. But it's life changing. Better yet, get the PBT espresso martini. It may change existence itself! The main area has a lively feel to it. And the Wiseguy Lounge is a gem--not a true speakeasy, but has that vibe for sure...dark, very chill. Well worth a visit...well, many visits! read more

I have been coming here religiously since it opened in 21/22 not sure which year but, it has been around awhile. It sits where the parking lot of the former Phoenix Hill Tavern. If you're a Louisville native, you know. They have other locations in Lexington and in other states. They are known for their giant slices of NY style pizza and the biggest breadsticks you'll probably ever see. Majority of the time they have slices ready but you can get a whole pizza from here. They will warm it for you if it's been out too long. I always loved getting a slice of pepperoni and a slice of cheese from here. I have eaten in here and taken over to Hi-wire (which is no longer around unfortunately) I'll come here with a friend to play on their gaming machines. The inside definitely feels more of a fancy type of bar/lounge which is ok. Have had some of their cocktails here but, never been over to the Wiseguy Lounge (21 and up). Have no complaints about this place and like the fact they are open late Fri and Sat. They are very good about having some slices ready. read more

This pizza hits the spot for last night eats. We order a breadstick, a slice of cheese pizza and a slice of a mushroom & ground beef & chicken slice. But they accidentally gave us a pepperoni slice but still made it right by giving us the slice we wanted and to keep the pepperoni. They were that warm at all. But overall still delicious. Is it the best pizza in town, no. Is it convenient and consistent, yes There's always fresh pizza available at the counter for purchase by the slice. I also enjoy the topping options which you can always add to. They warm up the slice and serve it quickly. This was my first time trying out Goodfellas... It's a regional chain. My husband and two friends and I are vacationing in Louisville this week and wanted something easy for dinner, so we got takeout from this location. We got one supreme-type pizza, the one with sausage and garlic, and a double pepperoni one. All were good, but I have to say the classic pepperoni was my favorite. The only downside to Goodfellas is the price. A 16" pie is about $25-30, and I'd say it could feed four not-so-hungry people or 2-3 hungry people. We got three pies, for four people (and it was way too much food, we had the equivalent of one pie left after), and it was about $85 with tax... Expensive. Other than that, the flavors were really good, so I'd try Goodfellas again. read more

Just moved to the apartments nearby, thought I'd treat myself to a solo pizza date.... Bartender is rude and dismissive. Very minimal toppings on the pizza. When my food arrived, my pizza was fresh, but my breadstick was cold and cheese dip looked like it's been sitting out for a bit.... Updating my review because we recently ordered from Goodfellas again, this time when we were at Hi-Wire Brewing next door. And this pizza was downright delightful! I would happily order this again! We got a selection of pizza to appease everyone in our group. "The Vinny" white pizza was my favorite. I'm a big fan of Spinelli's white pizza, and this was just as good as that. I loved the Goodfellas crust, which was chewy and baked perfectly. I also had a piece or three of the cheese bread. My kids loved this as well. Our two pizzas & order of bread sticks took one hour & we had to go to the counter to ask why we had not received our order. They were not that busy & everyone around us who arrived after us got their order before us. We had drinks from the bar & they were good. Old Fashioneds were excellent. Bread sticks are essentially a pizza not bread stick. They were ok but would prefer they be a bread stick. We ordered a sausage & onion pizza. Each slice had one small piece of sausage on it. Really? The four of us eat at a different pizza restaurant twice a month & rate them in several areas. Goodfellas did not receive a good overall rating from us due to them loosing our order. read more

We drive by this spot on the corner of Baxter avenue often and always see people sitting outside eating. My son and I had a chance to actually eat there today. You order at counter and they bring you your food. They have a great lunch special, $10 including a drink. Tonight we ordered a 12" Goodfella specialty pie and meatballs. My son also had to have a giant chocolate chip cookie. Per my 15 year old, who is a pizza enthusiast, said mom this so the best pizza I ever had. He ate all but one slice of. 12" pie. Seating area at tables or more casual area with couches. We spent about an hour and half there, I was able to use their WiFi and work while we ate. This is now one of our favorites. Our second visit to Goodfellas. Disappointing. My visit this week to Sbarro Pizza in the mall kiosk ranked better. Ironically, on our first visit they forgot our pizza was in the oven and only realized it was burnt to a crisp when we finally questioned the wait. This visit was no different. We again had to hunt down our order and then were told there had "been a situation". The pizza we did get was burnt on the bottom, and not because of the natural browning from the oven. Despite the cheese and toppings the char taste came through. After waiting for so long to get it we didn't complain for another remake, but why come back if this is the food quality? -- not to mention their team didn't proactively come to our table to explain the wait or make sure we were happy with the pizza. Two stars for the interior and patio, plus large breadsticks already made and easy for them to heat up quickly. I hate when it feels like we waste our money on bad food. read more

I'm a big fan of Goodfellas. I think I was introduced to them first in Lexington. That location was delicious. Over the years, I've been to most of their locations(the one in Indy = Least favorite). Each location is different and the same all at once I'm so happy that one opened here in Louisville. With Papalino's and Butchertown Pizza Hall gone, there aren't many places to get a reliable slice of pizza. There's The Post but it has fallen off over the years hard. There's also Old NY Slice(still good) but it's out in the east end and I don't want to drive out there all the time when I want a slice. Goodfellas has quickly become a mainstay for my pizza palette. The only drawback to this location is how busy it is on the weekend sometimes. There have been times when I've been in and had to wait in line for 30-45 minutes before the line moved up enough to order. Not necessarily a bad thing because I'm glad people are giving them business. Just something to keep in mind if you have an entire evening planned out. There's a ton of space inside complete with tables, sofas, and chairs. On top of that, they have a decently sized patio, and kudos to Goodfellas for enclosing it with a fence to stop any cars that might try to crash into the place in the future. I don't drink very often anymore but they also have a good-sized bar with plenty of options. The bar also opens up to the patio so you don't have to go inside if you want to drink the night away. Along with the bar, there is another bar area business right next door. If that's not good enough for you, there's also a brewery close by too! Order your pizza and go have a beer. I don't think I've ever had a bad slice here. There's usually street parking but if there's none available, you can park in the garage behind the place(free). One of my habits is to go here, order a slice or two, eat but then halfway through... do an online order for Carali's next door so that I can take a chicken home for a later. If you're looking for a solid slice of pizza, go here. Side notes: -- I've had good and bad cannolis here. -- The to-go Goodfellas cups are awesome if they're available. I love using them at home. -- They have super large breadsticks. I like them sometimes but some people love to order them with every order. read more

Goodfellas is a gem on Baxter Avenue. I moved to Louisville from Lexington, and was very happy when this opened at the corner of Broadway and Baxter. The inside is very welcoming, full of light, and fits in well with the neighborhood. While it's known for food, I think what makes this place special is the cocktail menu. They have top notch offerings you won't find anywhere else. The Wooden Nickel, which comes with some crowd pleasing smoke, is my absolute favorite. I ordered a paper plane and Aperol Spritz when we went on a Thursday, and both were only $6 each! Incredible deal. If you're in the area on a Friday or Saturday, I can't recommend checking out Wiseguy Lounge enough. The bartender is phenomenal and will find you a drink you will like. And for the caliber of ingredients and drinks, the prices are very reasonable. The pizza is not the greatest in the world, but it tastes pretty good for NY slice, and even better after a beer. If you want to eat in a hurry, there's usually pepperoni and cheese ready on demand. This is also right in the middle of an extremely walkable area. Enjoy! read more

This place was awesome. We have one in cincinnati Ohio and it's the same pizza!! The slices are bigger than your head and they have pizza by the slice which I love when you just want pizza in the here and now. This place is massive. Did I mention that? They have two bars, one in the pizza lounge area and then wiseguys. I can only comment on the pizza area since we didn't go in wiseguys on a Sunday for lunch. Staff was great, pizza was hot and fresh, and atmosphere was clean! I will be back for my pizza cravings. read more

The service is crap & the staff is very rude!! There was 7 ppl in the entire place & did not get acknowledged sitting at the bar for 10 minutes & then took another 10 to get our drinks after we ordered. I'm not sure if I just always happen to order when the "B team" is up but the bros behind the counter could not care less about taking care of customers. Preorders are never ready when they say they will be and are often missing components. For example, they were out of Caprese salad which is understandable but instead of offering an alternative or reimbursement at pick up the staff member played with his chain, gave a disinterested "yeah sorry" and then slinked away. Goodfellas pizzeria is a nice and spacious pizza joint located in Lousiville Kentucky right at the corner of Broadway and Baxter ave near the popular highlands community of the city. Goodfellas arrived to Lousiville with a ton of hype. For years Lousiville natives have heard how great goodfellas pizzeria in Lexington, Kentucky was. The Lexington location also had a little national attention at one point from a now infamous patio run in with barstool pizzas Dave Portnoy where he got the boot during his "one bite everyone knows the rules" pizza review. A situation in which the franchise was able to redeem itself with him and the public a few months later. All that said me and my buddy were super excited to finally have a Lousiville location so we made time on a Saturday evening while the wife and kids weren't busy and came and checked it out. Located in a nicely renovated strip Called "the Baxter" you have the option to street park or behind the establishment is a parking garage that shares with nearby businesses like hi-wire brew and couple other places. We street parked because we were in a large non compact truck and made the short walk to the side exterior. Very lovely inside and very spacious. Very sleek and swanky area with a really nice looking full service bar. With a name like goodfellas they obviously have a "gangster" theme and decor of famous gangsters from real life and the movies. They even added a little west coast gangster with a picture of ice cube on the ice dispenser. We arrived right at opening time of 11am on a Saturday and was the first customers of the day. There was a man and a woman behind a counter who took our order and prepared our food. Both were extremely kind and nice. We decided to a grab a lunch special which is a slice of pizza with a choice of the largest breadstxik I've ever seen or a dessert of a cookie, brownie or cannoli and a drink. I went with a cheese pizza and a breadstick with a fountain soda and my buddy did the same except with a pepperoni slice. Lunch special was $8 so not bad at all. Pizzas are New York style and very large. I will say it has a good taste. I'm not quite sure it lived up to the hype our Lexington brothers 75 miles up the road gave it. But that does not mean it is a bad slice by any means. Still above average with a nice distinct taste. I'd give the pizza a 3.5 out of 5. The breadstick as mentioned is massive. It was pretty good and the cheese sauce we got with it enhanced the flavor much more. Another above average tasting item. Service and decor here were both 5/5. Very cool place with reasonable pricing and nice serving sizes. Overall me and my buddy enjoyed ourselves and was a fan. It is located in a part of town that is pretty far from both of us so I'm not sure how often we will come back but it was good enough for us to return again for sure. read more

The drinks at the bar were delicious and spot on. True mixologist. I like that they do have pizza by the slice. I may be a little bias, but I'm not much of a pizza fan so I will just say that the pizza was ok. I had as issue where we flew into town, placed the order online that night since we were starving and saw that the order was automatically defaulted for pick up tomorrow since it was an hour till closing. Me and my partner flew in from Texas late at night and this place was still open and we were starving. We ordered one medium plain cheese pizza and waited 2 hours. We asked several times when our pizza would be ready and everyone kept saying 10 minutes which was a lie cause it was never ready. At 2 hours we said was had been waiting for 2 hours and everyone was confused and realized they had forgotten about the order ??????? Anyways the pizza was bomb. I loovve Goodfellas! I had heard a lot of hype before this place opened, so I wanted to come down and try it for myself. My favorite kind of pizza is New York style that you can buy by the slice, and that is exactly what they have here. You can also get a whole pie too, and lemme tell you that those things are HUGE. I tried a slice of pepperoni and shared a yard-long breadstick with my fiance, and everything was great. I also couldn't believe how cheap it was for how much food we got. I love the space - there's one side that is set like a casual dining room, while the other has some cozy couches and a fireplace you can chill at while you eat! The slices are huge and have that perfect, floppy, New York style crust. My slice was the pesto, spinach, mushrooms. I usually go with Margarita for my first time trying a new place, but they were out at the time. I also tried the caprese salad (very fresh and a perfect portion, but it definitely needed a little bit of balsamic) and the breadstick which was as big as a baguette, soft, warm, so freaking good. The staff were very pleasant and the interior is modern and comfortable. I used to live a block away from here and I am so glad I moved before this place opened because I would be 500 pounds! Extremely late with this review, given that I came here for the first time for Louisville pizza week. It was a little later on in the day, and I was kind of pizza'd out at this point, but I'm definitely glad I came! The locale is very impressive! I love how big the footprint is and how high the ceilings are. The vibe is very casual but still feels very nice. I loved the "open kitchen" where you could see the staff working on each pie at all stages of assembly. The ordering process was easy, pretty in and out. The pizza itself: not half bad! I liked the taste and texture of it a lot. It is definitely high up on my favorite pizzas in town. I would definitely recommend this place, and I'd definitely like to come back. I think next time I'm going to try dining in and enjoying the food and ambiance. read more

Last night we were having drinks at Hi-Wire and needed to order food for the kids, so we tried Goodfellas Pizzeria. I called to place an order, while looking at the online menu discovered they offered half price 12" pizzas (with certain restrictions). It was a great opportunity to try several different pizzas at an affordable price. We ordered the following pizzas, cheese, the Goodfella and The Boss. We also ordered three breadsticks and three cannoli. We were quoted a 30 minute time. I arrived exactly 30 minutes later. At first glance the restaurant is really nice. It was clean and had a cool vibe. Looks like a good place to grab and drink and hang out. Couches and looked like a full bar area with plenty of seating. When I arrived there was a large group standing around the front of the restaurant. Some were trying to order and others were looking at menus. At the time there was only one cashier. To pickup an order I thought it was a pretty long wait - maybe 10-15 minutes. Wish they had an area for call ahead or pickup orders. Once I was able to speak with the cashier it was a fast process to pay and pickup my order. Now for the food. The Goodfella pizza and breadsticks were definitely the favorites. The Goodfella had pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef and bacon. The Boss was chicken, tomatoes, onions, bacon and drizzled ranch. I couldn't taste the ranch and it seemed underdone and didn't have much flavor. The breadsticks were huge and were really good - covered in garlic butter, Parmesan and oregano. It's served with your chose of square marinara, ranch, garlic butter, cheese or Buffalo ranch. Unfortunate they weren't cooked to order with the rest of the food, but they were still good. We had the marinara and garlic butter and the portions for the sauce were huge. Finally we finished with the cannoli, which were pretty good. It's an Italian pastry with sweet ricotta and chocolate chips - more on the savory side. Pizzas were okay, but probably would have a different opinion if we had paid full price for them. Not super flavorful and nothing really stood out as something we'd crave to have again. The restaurant looks really cool and we'd go back to have some drinks. read more
