Found a new local favorite! The Post is such a cute, rustic, lively spot nestled away in Villa Park. It's got a log cabin, western feel with an extensive American cuisine restaurant with a small town feel with big flavors. There's a lot of food options to hanker your craving- seafood, sandos, appetizers, prime rib- there's so many awesome comfort food style options. There were a lot of locals that elevated the hometown feel. As a first timer- things to think about: Bar area is first come first serve and it gets crowded. If loud spaces aren't your thing, the patio or restaurant side might be a better option. With that said, during busy game days, be prepared to wait or move quickly to snag a table. The portions are definitely shareable. The grilled veggie sandwich had amazing flavor, but it was messy. The bread, made in house, was soft, light, and had great quintessential sourdough flavor which partied really well with the grilled vegetables. The pickles were thick cut chips that came out hot and perfectly fried. The bakery had some really gorgeously delicious items Making the choice to try a new place was such a win today. Can't wait to go back and try other things in the menu and experience this quaint place.

    Bran muffin

Nic did an amazing job keeping us content during our evening. He was very kind and helping the entire evening even after we paid our tab. The appetizers and drinks were very well made and Nic suggested a bran muffin that I had to get even when I wanted carrot after he described the bran muffin. It was my first time here and I will definitely be returning.

Omg. The 24 hr breakfast items are spectacular. Grabbing a PBR with my bacon is clutch. The carne asada breakfast dish is #1. Pedro & Nancy are the best at taking care of you. Will definitely be back!

The Post is always a great place to come. It's been a staple in our family for over 18 years. It's great for breakfast, lunch, dinner. They have a great happy hour as well, plus live music nightly.

Went here last week for the first time. It was great with good service and decent prices. I will go back soon and want to try the food.

I've come in the past few months and had a good time, but my favorite waitress Sofie must have left. Don't want to come anymore.

I haven't tried brunch here yet, but it's definitely something I'd like to try one day. The atmosphere during happy hour is pretty chill. They always have music playing, and they also have trivia nights. Some nights they have DJs playing, and the music is always great. The place has always been clean whenever I've visited. There's street parking right in front, plus a parking structure nearby, which makes it convenient. Steven and Kelly are awesome! When I was empty, he gave me "the look" and I gave him "the look" right back that said I needed another one. And when I decided it was time to play some pool, I got the stick and cue ball and got to playing. When there was a tiny issue with the table, Jackie was there to support! It's so anazingt to be able to receive 10/10 service at the bar and in the rest of the bar when it's needed. Then when the DJ came out, I expected service to decline but it was just as good. These guys are working hard the entire time they're behind the bar or on the floor. Steven and Jackie definitely stepped it up in their service; either pouring me drinks or taking my empties and watching over us patrons. I had to call them out twice because I kept seeing them all night, so I also had to ask their names! With the music going and the games on the TVs, sipping a beer or six, there's no better place to be on a Thursday night!

Is it as high end and bougie as Strong Water? No. Does it tickle your fancy and offer a wonderful experience that even your kids can enjoy? Absolutely! Kids- yes they are welcome. In fact mine had the time of their life. Just don't be those parents and bring them after 7. It is a tiki bar after all and unless they follow the rules of Arrested Development then let them chill at home with grandma and grandpa or maybe their weird Uncle Joe. Drink- Delightful. Very fun themed glassware. Presentations were beautiful and well thought out. Our server did a great job at recommending drinks that built on top of the previous one. Food- the weakest part of the experience. While certainly not bad however when compared to the rest of the experience it just was a bit lacking. The Loco Moco looked very nice. The patty was quite dry though. Yes there's gravy but that's not an excuse for a dry patty. Mac salad was very nice. Stowaway fries were fun and tasty. It is smothered in gravy so be prepared to lose the crispy fries about halfway into the dish. All in all I (and my wife and kids(before7) and weird Uncle Joe) will be back.
