    Foodlab Burger with Garlic Fries
    Jack B.

The best cheeseburger on the Central Coast. This may be an LA reference, but their burger is like a hybrid of a Tommy's and In-n-Out. Garlic fries are super addicting and most times we have gone, they have had a very tight Jazz Trio with guest musicians coming up and playing songs with them. Great place.

    Lab Smash Burger

We decided to stop in and try the food lab, first off the power plant is the cutest place, plenty of tables and WiFi, plenty of merchandise for sale and a bar with beers on draft, this is where you order the food, we got the burger and the fish tacos. My husband got the burger and said it was delicious, I snagged a couple of his garlic fries and they were crispy, seasoned perfectly! I ordered the fish tacos and they did not disappoint! Fish super fresh and crispy, cabbage, sauce and a chunky guacamole on the fish. Everything was seasoned perfectly and absolutely amazing, definitely will be back!

Lettuce wrapped burger and salad! Gluten free and gallbladder friendly!!
    Danielle Z.

Absolutely the best service I've ever had. They were so kind and compassionate about my food allergies and adjustments due to gallbladder issues I'm having. He costume made me a burger and salad so I would have an enjoyable lunch! I'm grateful and it was absolutely amazing in flavor!! Thank you so much!

Food Lab Burger. Two smashed patties, cheese, chili, onions, mustard and tomato. It's like Tommy's and In-n-Out had a love child!!!!

While we didn't see it listed on the menu board, when my wife asked the order taker, she knew exactly what we wanted and told her that the wait would be 15 minutes as they made them to order. OMG, it was beautiful! Loaded with fresh strawberries and just enough glaze to bind it, the glaze did not overwhelm the taste of the strawberries. You can't really slice it as created. Instead, you pick off some of the fruit on top until it's down to a manageable height and then we use a large spoon to parse it out. Whipped cream? Ice cream? Both would be excellent accompaniments to be sure, but we used neither.

The cheesecake was so good I had to sit in silence for a minute and reevaluate every life choice that led me to lesser cheesecakes. Creamy, rich, perfectly balanced, and somehow emotionally supportive. I'm pretty sure one bite repaired my credit score. The staff were unbelievably kind too. They treated me like I was a long-lost cousin returning from war with important cheesecake-related news. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and smelled like happiness and butter. At this point I don't even think this place is a bakery. I think it's a public service. I was so happy they were open on NYE because it was a good stop along the way back up to SF. They had reduced hours, but they posted it on Yelp and IG - so I didn't have that "will they, won't they" anxiety of whether they'd actually be open on a holiday. The cheesecake selection was pretty good - about 12 different flavors. The cheesecake texture is softer and more of a whipped consistency rather than a dense cheesecake, which I definitely prefer. This is a grab and go counter, though you could technically stay and eat it there since there was some seating. I grabbed a dozen and took them to a NYE potluck that day and folks said they really enjoyed it. Would recommend getting the plain, ube, and pass on the key lime (but thats just IMO).

I was amazed that there was an entire shop dedicated to all things mushroom, and then I saw that they served food too! I love mushroom, and when I couldn't get this place out of my mind, I had to head here before leaving town in the morning. Once this placed opened in the morning, we were the first one in. Got to try their truffle oil and sit down for a morning brunch. This isn't your typical brunch place, it was just the time I was there to eat. I tried their empanada, mushroom soup, and then their truffle mushroom grilled cheese, and I have to state that it was the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had. My mouth is still watering thinking about that sandwich. I picked up some items to go such as truffle oil and dried mushroom and was on my way. The shop is small and there is only counter space to eat, but the shop is so cute tucked away near a neighborhood street. I can't wait to go back here if I ever have the chance again.

I even saw kombucha there but it went fast. It was well organized and different foods kept replenishing the tables. There were close to 250 people there but there was plenty of food. They provided a big selection of grilled mushrooms and chicken. Also paper plates, utensils and napkins. We'll be back and will bring our picnic basket, table and chairs.
