Autumn 2007, Washington Produce began offering fresh organic produce orders on a weekly basis to anyone interested in frugal wholesome nutrition available for pickup in their state-of-the-art new Redlands location. I was their first customer. Since then, Washington Produce has expanded from their organic weekly offerings to the public to include: Non-organic weekly orders; Custom online orders, (from 100cases of berries to 1 bunch of celery); and, Excellent ready-to-cook / ready-to-eat / ready-to-freeze items! Having been an active part of the local community for a quarter century, thriving via word-of-mouth / no need to raise prices to cover advertising overhead, Washington Produce finally moved to a marvelous space with abundant trees & skylights & leading technology refrigeration, etc. They are really "doing things right" at Washington Produce - and it shows! When our area was devastated with natural disasters, Washington Produce delivered whole truckloads of wholesome produce to National Orange Show! They saw a need and stepped up to fill it! That is the wonderful kind of family behind Washington Produce! A small business anyone would be thrilled to support! Washington Produce received a commendation from City of San Bernardino for their donation of truckloads of produce to 4-member tree planting teams for 100s of 15-gallong species appropriate trees added to parklands & parkways citywide as part of the San Bernardino Volunteer Yard Beautification Project's "The Great Clean-Air Tree Planting Project", too! When we had occasion to cater an event for 100+, Washington Produce was able to quickly & accurately fill our order for 40-pound boxes of the biggest, juiciest and best boneless, skinless chicken breasts + cases of eggs for deviling + pecan halves by the case & Asian specialty items & well, "everything" we needed _well within budget_. We were beyond impressed when they even loaded our vehicle in a "logical manner" for us, without us even needing to ask! (Had we not been able to pickup our very large order with our vehicle, one of their fleet of delivery trucks with cordial, uniformed drivers would have made the delivery for us). Washington Produce has a fleet of vehicles delivering to the best hospitals, restaurants and hotels in the region. They have their own specialty prep facility to prepare any item to your exact dimensions/weights/packaging specs, too! It is truly wonderful to be able to visit Washington Produce for our customized orders and watch our children consuming baskets of fresh berries, etc during the ride home! The customized orders are placed through the online portal Washington Produce provides for everyone to indicate precisely what they'd like to pickup - and when they'd like to arrive for the pickup. That way, each time we (or you), place an order, "Portabellas" is more than a generic term; the size/count is already selected according to preference/price point and the items are timed to be packed up and ready for receipt same-day ~ The produce at Washington Produce doesn't "sit around waiting" ~ It's F-R-E-S-H! Have you noticed Romaine lettuce in grocery stores? Staff trims the nutritious outer leaves to make the heads appear "fresher". But, they don't trim the price! Last week's thinned head is mixed in with yesterday's and today's - all at the same price. Worse, when they get so old they are then bundled into (2) heads with (1) twist-tie, Albertson's (Beaumont, Highland Springs exit store), charges for _each_ of the barely-there heads! That's currently 2x$1.59 for the pale, thin remnants of what once was a lush & leafy head of Romaine! Why not get about 4x the size, with the dark green leaves still intact and super-fresh for HALF that price at Washington Produce? We do! I placed my first order from Washington Produce yesterday via their online site. It was too simple.....which made me skeptical. WP is awesome! What they say you get online, is what you get, nothing less. Their selection of organic produce was impressive, and the mushrooms I ordered were the freshest I've ever (ever) had. They might as well have been picked that day. As a busy working mom, I appreciate the easiest way to get my family a healthy, vegetable filled dinner. The ease of pulling up, picking up and driving away saves my family at least an hour of grocery shopping time. They do have frozen meats available too, in large quantities. My stupid, size of a shoe box freezer can barely hold a bag of chicken, so I couldn't take advantage of the great deal on 15 lbs of pork chops. Off to buy a big freezer, muahahaha! For under $30, I got so many fruits, veggies, treats and snacks....It was quite the value. Most prices are competitive with Trader Joes or up to half the price off. The food I picked up was fresh and it's a great concept for working people who are too tired to buy what is needed to prepare a home cooked meal. All the things you need to cook are given to you with the menu. The quantity was larger than expected. We have tried the Swedish meatballs, the tofu lettuce wraps and Greek salad and love them all. Okay I've been here many many times. At first I loved it! The food was delicious and the whole concept behind it was great. After several visits It became apparent that the whole order ahead thing was meaningless. I would show up for my order at the time I selected the day before and would always have to wait an additional half hour for my food. So I started calling in half hour ahead of my pickup time, hoping they would have it ready when I showed up. Nope they still couldn't get it right. This is a great idea, but by not having food ready at the selected time takes the convenience right out of it. I referred several people here in the beginning and over time we all stopped going because they couldn't get it right. We expressed our concerns and suggestions, but felt like they weren't taken seriously. Please refine your order process, I would like to try you again someday. read more

I used to love this place, but the service has been getting worse the last few times I've ordered from WP. I'm an employee at a local hospital that coordinates with WP for produce specials each month. WP never seems to know about the deals and I end up waiting an unacceptable amount of time for my order to be completed once I arrive. (I waited for 30+ min once.) My most recent order included a box of seasonal fruit. When I got it home and emptied it, there was a moldy clementine and a squished nectarine. The next day, another moldy clementine and one very squishy one. I expressed my concerns to WP over the phone. The customer service rep was very friendly and promised me a call back. I love washington Produce. I will never buy another piece of produce from the local supermarket. Their fruit and veggies are excellent. They are fresh and have so much variety. I love their fruit tray for family gatherings and have taken some to work. The guacamole and salsa is delicious. They offer organic and regular produce so its great to have that option. Their prices are very reasonable and most cases cheaper than the supermarket. The staff is wonderful and very pleasant and always willing to help. Big thumbs up to WP. read more

I'm not really sure what all the good reviews are about. I'll give Washington Produce credit for being innovative and very convenient, however, the quality of the produce I received was really subpar. I ordered an organic fruit and veggie box; more than half of the produce was not organic, a lot was not seasonal, and I'm pretty sure the only local items were the cucumbers, though I can't be certain. Most of the produce was decent quality (though certainly not outstanding) except for the apples which were brown and mushy inside. The ease of ordering and pick up was nice and convenient, but it's just not worth it and not what I was looking for. I'll be joining a local CSA. (I hear good things about the Inland Empire CSA). read more

I really like this place. They have terrific produce, especially their mangoes and mushrooms, that stay good in the fridge far longer than regular grocery stores. Prices are reasonable too and they have a good selection. The only criticism I have is that the orders often aren't ready when they should be. When I said I would pick up my items by 12:30pm and I show up at 4pm, I expect that the order is ready to go. It's irritating to have to wait for them to slice it up when they had almost 4 extra hours to do so, and the place isn't that busy. read more

This place is great for couples and family's! When my wife and I discovered the prep table formally (Washington produce). We were hooked. Nowhere else can you get fresh fruit and vegetables farm fresh and not "man handled". We also order meal kits that last us all week. We order conveniently online and pick up at our convenience. We have saved so much money and do not waist food anymore. My client with a family of 3 kids orders and they also save money. The owner is always present and is so friendly. This past week we received complementary pre-cooked artichoke that were so good! And we will order next week.
