Other customers did arrive for their appointments later in the hour. The place is light and had a tv playing caking making in the background (kind of mesmerizing), but definitely calm and chill. Thuy the owner did my powder dip and gel pedi and I was very happy with my nails. I had a not so great experience with my last place and I showed her a picture of what I'd like my nails short and square-ish. My daughter went for a mani/pedi and said her massage part of the pedi was really great! her nails look great and she was very happy. We appreciate that it's close to home and how nice everyone was during our services. I looked at a ton of reviews of different places and I've lived in the area for awhile, been to a few nail salons in this area. Seen the ups and downs of some of what were my favorite places, making it hard when I felt it was time to move along. The woman who answered the phone confirmed they had availability. When I asked for the price of a basic pedicure, she told me it was $40. This worked out perfectly for me because I had $50 in cash on hand ($40 for the service and a $10 tip.) ​I arrived about 15 minutes later and was quickly ushered to a chair. The pedicure itself was actually pretty good, and I have no complaints about the service quality. ​My issue arose when it came time to pay, and my total suddenly jumped to $55! When I asked why the price changed, I was told it was because the technician used gel polish. Not only did I never request gel polish, but I was never informed that there would be an additional fee! The nail tech simply had me choose a color and painted my nails without ever giving me an option or mentioning an upcharge. ​To make matters worse, there are absolutely no prices posted anywhere in the salon (which matches what other reviewers have stated). Because the surprise total was more than my cash on hand, I was forced to pay with a credit card--which tacked on another additional fee that was also completely unposted. ​I am writing this to warn anyone considering this establishment: make sure you get clear, explicit pricing before you ever sit down in a chair!

There was barely any gel to remove -- a simple hand file would've done the job without damaging my nails. Instead, the overuse of the bur left my nails feeling thin. The curing process was rushed too. She kept switching my hands mid-cycle before the polish could properly set. And the "massage"? It lasted as long as it takes me to put lotion on before work -- basically nonexistent. She filed my nails down until they bled, and then told me the next appointment that my nails are too thin-- well DUH. My last manicure didn't last beyond a week with half the nails cracked or lifted, and after complaining I was invited back to fix it... and at the end of the service told I need to pay $100 because so much was needed to be fixed. After that repair job, 6/10 nails were cracked, lifted, or had fallen off within 10 days. So, beware of Euphoria unless you have a lot of time, money, and patience to invest in your nails.

However as a client, I cannot know what is happening in this business owners life, and it seems like the professional and respectful choice is to re-record your business voicemail telling people you are taking a break, so your clients don't continually waste their time. Now because of this intense and rude response years later, I stand by my one star review instead of changing it, because I do not believe the client is responsible for knowing what losses are going on in the owners life, nor do they deserve a mean retort years later for information they have no way to know. Her response was very unprofessional and as I had said before, I would've changed my review to a positive one and been a client again, but not after this exchange. My father passed away during this time period too, right before my wedding actually, and we're also currently in the middle of COVID where she has no idea who is currently sick or who I've lost in my life, so while it's true you don't know what's going on in someone's life, that doesn't give a business owner reason to shame a client for the owner not updating their business information and the client responding based on their current experience. This is not a personal relationship and it's unprofessional and unkind to shame a client when you also have no idea the circumstances in the other persons life. Very hypocritical.
