Came here as a walk-in and waited about 20 minutes -- no big deal. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. I got a gel manicure, and it didn't even survive three days before chipping. Honestly, I'm not surprised. The nail tech seemed rushed from the moment I sat down. She used a high-speed bur to remove my previous gel, and the heat was so intense it stung. When I mentioned it, she brushed it off with, "You're too sensitive." There was barely any gel to remove -- a simple hand file would've done the job without damaging my nails. Instead, the overuse of the bur left my nails feeling thin. The curing process was rushed too. She kept switching my hands mid-cycle before the polish could properly set. And the "massage"? It lasted as long as it takes me to put lotion on before work -- basically nonexistent. For the price they charge, the service should last more than a couple of days and feel at least somewhat relaxing. Unfortunately, it was neither. I do NOT recommend this place. read more

The people here are really nice, but the quality of the work isn't the best. I had a gel pedicure, and one of my toenails just came off by the time I took off my shoe... just a couple hours later!!!! It's actually quite comical cuz that has never happened to me before!!! I also had a gel x manicure, and it's alright. The underside is very thick and dirty feeling. Nails aren't really all the same length or shape.. It's a beautiful facility!! But the quality of the work is subpar. read more

If you are not a regular here the customer service sucks! This was my second time here. First time wasn't as busy. I walked in for a pedicure and after waiting I had to speak and ask if they had time for me. They said they did. I also needed one of my natural nails fixed and asked if they could do it. Every time I asked they acted as if they were not sure. I asked about 3x to 3 different people and each person got more annoying than the first and acted as if I was bothering them for asking for a service. I finally said just give me an answer so I can move on. Bc I'm like is there not a nail salon on every other corner! I can go somewhere else people. The old aunties had the worst attitude. It was the younger crew that did my pedicure and she was fine and tried to apologize but she also didn't help pull my pants leg down or help put my sandals on when I was done. So again customer service was lacking. However, all the regulars got all the smiles and conversation and time. Too bad bc she did a decent job on my pedi but was horrible experience! read more

Don't bother making an appointment, they won't honor it anyway. Arrived on time to my appointment but waited 25 minutes. Once seated, waited another 5 minutes. My daughter and I just got very bad pedicures at Pinkies. Our apts were at 3, they were over by 3:15. My daughter got a 30 second massage and mine was only about 2 minutes. If we didn't have apts I could understand, but we made them to insure that we get the time we book. It was a nail clip with polish applied pretty much. I'm not sure they even filed my nails. Nicky is amazing! I am so happy I found her. She does hard gel nails (poly gel) and it lasts 4-6 weeks. I wash dishes and do gardening - I can be quite rough when it comes to my hands and the nails are still there. I love it! She is meticulous and really pays attention to details. I LOVE my toes, Jessie did such a great job on them and her attention to detail was awesome. I am incredibly picky. That being said, I LIKE my nails. Not my favorite gel x French tip, but they still look nice. There is bubble left on my thumb and there isn't as much of an arch in the French as I'd like, but still a good outcome. Just had the best experience at Pinkie's Danville! Two days ago, my best friend and I went in for pedicures and they were amazing! I was nervous because I had never had a pedicure, but our tech was incredible! She was patient, kind and gentle, plus the pedicure looks fabulous. Had such a great experience that I called the next day for a new set of Gel-X nails, as I was unhappy with the filled set I had from another salon. Nikki was absolutely incredible. The set I had on was applied super thick, so it took extra time to remove, which she did expertly. She is a perfectionist and took time to find the exact right sizes, made sure all the nails were set perfect, the length and shape was exactly what I wanted and that I loved the color. I am happy to see that Pinkies has a new owner! My mom, daughter and I went for pedis/manis today, and a lot has been improved. First of all, the nail polish selection was MUCH better. They have all of the usual suspects, but they also now carry many shades of Zoya, a non-toxic, formaldehyde-free polish. I bought a color before going because the old Pinkies never had good colors, but they have a boatload now! The new owner is very nice and on top of her business. Most of the nail techs are the same. All of the pedicure chairs seem to be working. The remotes are clean and new, and all of the massage and reclining functions work great! The only things I miss are the big pillows for resting your magazine while you get pampered and the green tea they used to offer. Pinkies used to be my last option choice, but they have moved to my top choices now! read more

Lady proceeds to trim my toe nails and after adding polish, I notice that the right side of the nail bed is rounded and the left side is squared. I mention it to her and she proceeds to tell me to tell her next time before the polish because it's more difficult for her... Do I really need to tell you to make the toenails uniform throughout? I had gone to Pinkies last month based on a recommendation. I was not impressed with their service. I had gel manicure. Was rushed even though they were not busy. The gel manicure has lasted less than 2 weeks. I went back to ask them to fix just one nail and they would but with a significant charge. I get it. Thought I would give them a second chance. I went back today for a regular pedicure. When I called for the appointment, they asked if I could come in 30 minutes earlier than I requested. I agreed. Unfortunately, once I go there for the time they asked, I had to wait over 30 minutes. The pedicure was ok- never asked what I wanted. I did let her know I did not want any nailpolish on. Unfortunately, they rushed (I had 2 different people that did not talk with me. The first person just left), the "massage" was less than 1 minutes per foot, she started adding nail polish even though I let her know I didn't want polish. Finally, at check out, they added $5 just to take off my previous gel. The experience was disappointing. I understand that everyone has bad days but it was not the greatest the first time. I like to support locally but this time it was horrible....not to mention my friend was with me and had equal experience. Neither of us will support again. We pay too much to be treated like a hamster. read more

I'd give this place 3.5 - 4 stars. I made an appointment a week or two in advance for my girlfriend and myself to get two dip manicures and regular or shellac pedicures. When we got there they had my name and time-slot reserved but there was a lot of confusion about the services we wanted done. Also there is only one person that knows how to do dip manicures, and she thought our appointment was 30 mins after the time we called and reserved for. Anyways, the place was a bit chaotic but the pedicures turned out great. The manicures were not bad, but I wouldn't go back... they didn't have a good selection of dip colors and the colors they did have are so light you can still see natural nail color beneath which I personally don't like. The person who did my pedi was Nikki, I asked to get rid of all my cuticles but she stilll a lot was left all around which pushed the nail polish away from the skin and there is a black border all around which I told her several times that I don't like that. Also, first time to see someone that doesn't file your nails except after she put the nail color and top coat, then she files it which was so weird for me. Also, never cleaned under the toe nails. All in all, was not worth the visit. ZERO STARS is not an option and it should be. I buy gift certificates for clients and colleagues. I do this regularly. I paid for a particular gift certificate from Danville Pinkie's for someone and when she presented it, she was turned away and told to go to Lafayette instead. They rejected her as well and said to go back to the Danville location. She then went back to the Danville location assuming they had made an honest mistake. They again refused to accept it and turned her away, while being very rude. I posted this on Nextdoor.com and just since yesterday 128 people have seen or commented on the post echoing similar experiences of rudeness and rejection of gift certificates. Even if the location is now owned by someone new, which some suggested was possible, you buy the assets and obligations of a new business and instead of denying an responsibility, they could use the gift certificate as an opportunity to create a new, lasting client connection. This store was paid to provide future services and they refuse to do so. I wrote to them and asked them to contact me and they have refused to respond to me either. This is FRAUD and CRIMINAL. Do not support this location, do not support this owner and do not support this business. read more
