I love this place. It is pricey, but the service was quick and our server was such a treat. I was having a bad day before I came. The kind of day that makes you cry. So my fiance tells me to get dressed and let's go get some good food. The ambiance was lovely. I do love having a reason to dress nice and it felt romantic. Even in a room with other tables and people, it wasn't overly crowded. It was extra nice to have our server take notice of the effort I put in. I wish I knew her name because I would absolutely share and recommend her 100%. She, plus the food, really cheered me up that day and that's kind of rare. Visit #1: Our bill was mixed up with another table. A basic, embarrassing mistake that set the tone for what was to come. Visit #2: We couldn't even get a table. No explanation, no apology -- just turned away. Visit #3 -- the final straw: My husband called ahead and made a reservation. When we arrived, the hostess flat-out denied ever receiving it, then casually assumed we'd "be there in a few minutes" -- as if she knew exactly who we were and what had happened. That's not a system glitch, that's negligence. What made it so much worse? Not a single apology. Instead, we were met with outright rudeness from the staff. And the food? Horrible. Not "disappointing" -- genuinely bad. To top it off, the restaurant has a noticeable unpleasant odor that made it impossible to enjoy even being inside. Pretty decent every time we come. Definitely one of the best spots in the area. I'm just not a big fan of the interior--the carpet is dark and sketchy. The bread is super fresh--crispy exterior, nice garlicky flavor. The crab dip isn't bad. Sea bass was cooked well, a bit on the greasy side but the flavor is really good. The sweet potato fries were good but soggy. Asparagus was cooked and flavored really well. Service was amazing (thank you Sophie!!) -- we brought our toddler and she anticipated everything we needed. Upon walking in, the atmosphere was both cozy and festive as they had their Christmas decor up. It was beautifully decorated. I was sat in the front dining area. I saw the bar area that looked pretty decent on my way to the restrooms (very small and tight and the soap was not working well). The waiter (MJ, I believe) was very attentive and accommodating while also being knowledgeable about the menu items. We settled on the 22oz steak and I ordered the lemon drop martini and lamb chops. I'll go on record right now: this was the best restaurant crab dip I've ever had. It was the perfect amount of lump crab, just yummy goodness overload. That bread *chefs kiss* I could've made an entire meal out of that dip and been just as happy as a kid in the candy store lol. Very disappointed. Made reservations for Father's Day. Arrived 15 minutes before reservation time. With about 20 tables open, we were told to have a seat. Hosts then proceeded to seat two other groups who arrived after us. Two minority groups. We were then shown to a table that had been open the entire time we were waiting. We were then handed a special menu which didn't have the items my father or friend wanted to eat and an automatic 20% gratuity added. We left. I understand making us wait if they were busy or had to turn over our table. Even understand if those two groups had the reservations ahead of us. We hadn't gone here for several years so we decided to try it again. It was fairly early for dinner, about 5 PM and although there were about 20 empty tables, they told us that they were booked with reservations and may be able to get us in if we waited 15 minutes. We agreed and were seated in 15 minutes as promised. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We first ordered appetizers: calamari and crab- stuffed mushrooms for the table. The mushrooms were good. However, the calamari was rubbery and not at all tasty. We told our server, and he simply said he was sorry to hear that. Then came the salads, all of which were delicious. Of the four diners, one of us ordered the steak filet, one the fried seafood platter, and two the prime rib special recommended by the server. The best option was the filet, which my friend enjoyed. The seafood platter was large and relatively tasty, although pretty heavily battered and the crabcake was dry and flavorless. The meal came with french fries and coleslaw so when ordering, I asked if I could swap for different side items. The server replied that there would be a slight up charge for the swap. When we received the bill, I was charged $4.50 for each swap, so in addition to the $42 price for a seafood platter, I was charged $9 to select two different vegetables instead of coleslaw and french fries. I paid $51 for what I would say was the equivalent of a $29 meal at most. My dad and my husband got the recommended prime rib special. Both cuts were full of fat and gristle, barely edible. Again, we told the server that the prime rib was awful and inedible. He said he was sorry to hear that. He did not call a manager. He did not offer to replace it. My father was unable to eat his. My husband ate the center out of it, struggling to get it down, and left a plate full of fat and gristle. At this point, we were relatedly grossed out, disgruntled, and eager to just pay and leave. We asked for the bill and our over-assigned server was about 15 minutes in bringing it. As we patiently sat there, the hostess came over and told us that we had to be out in 20 minutes because our table was reserved at that time. Meanwhile, we hadn't even been in the restaurant an hour, we were waiting on their staff person, and there still remained at least 20 empty tables in the restaurant. After paying, I went up to the front desk and shared our dissatisfaction with our experience. The woman simply smiled oddly, and that was about it. No acceptance of responsibility. No apology. Nothing. Needless to say, this time it will be at least two decades before we ever even think of going back - unfortunate because aspects of the meal were good and the potential was there. However, execution, food quality, and management were poor. I do not recommend this restaurant, especially for the high prices for the low food quality. read more

In terms of texture/flavor? Not so much. Everything was disappointing. Brussel sprouts didn't have any char on them. Bacon was soft. Mac n cheese way overcooked. There was no bite to the noodles. Crab cake was slightly cold, soggy. Their signature sauce was basically mayo. I was hoping for some level of char. Not a bit. While the food is typically excellent, of late their requirement for reservation only seating has become truly frustrating that we will now take our business elsewhere. We've never had a problem being seated in the past with a reservation or by just walking in and getting a seat, even if we had to wait a little. Now, we've been turned away twice (informed that it's reservation only). On one of these occasions we were told there's no available tables for that entire day to then leave and get 10 minutes away and see on their reservation page that there were several openings during the time we were there and well after. Tonight, we made a reservation and showed on time. They took us to a table directly in front of the entrance path and we asked to be seated at a different table. They said they couldn't in case other people with reservations came. Mind you, there were 5 tables open in the area and another section with no one seated there. None of the tables have reserved on them. We are there ahead of any other reservation and it was a problem. At the end of the ordeal, a manager said there was some confusion with their reservation system and she could seat us at a table that individuals had just departed but it would need to be cleaned first; the other vacant and clean tables were still not occupied. Remember, I had a reservation. We would consider ourselves regular patrons, but we will take our business to another establishment. They need to do better with their reservation system and providing better service to their arriving customers. read more
