The owner's attitude is absolutely fantastic! When we arrived from out of town and entered the cherry lounge, we were a bit put off by the lack of attention and the cold, distant demeanor of the staff. However, when we decided to give The Pub a try, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming greeting from the lovely owner behind the bar. The atmosphere he has created in his establishment is truly enjoyable.

Great little place, great staff, good atmosphere. Wife ordered goat cheese and spinach pizza, it was really good thin-crust Za. I had the beef on wEck, gotta say I was unimpressed with the sandwich. Bread was so soggy ( from au jus dip before serving?) that I pretty much just ate the beef. Flavor of beef was ok, but nothing to write home about. I would definitely try this place again, base on everything the beef-on samich. I would stop here again of up this way.

A true pub. Cordial. A fabulous Beef on Weck. It was an amazing find near the Luci and Desi Museum. It's definitely worth the stop!

The Beef on Weck was excellent. It's a nice traditional pub. The service was good. Looks like a lot of locals frequent the pub.

Really enjoyed this place while in town for hockey. Excellent service and most of us got pasta dishes for a late lunch. Cash only!

For my drive back to Cleveland from skiing at Holiday Valley I was looking for a place along the…read moreroute to grab some fish and chips for dinner. Steener's Pub popped up and the reviews were good. Located in Bemus Point just a couple of miles from I 86 made for a convenient stop. Steener's is located a bit outside of the Bemus Point main drag, but there are a couple of other businesses nearby. The building looks modern from the outside, inside it looks like the original bar area has been there quite a while, they then added a dining room and later a second dining room. The decor is casual tavern style, lots of wood and mellow colors without much extra. The menu is a nice mix of typical bar food with a good selection of fish and seafood which makes sense for a place so near to Chautauqua Lake. Service was good, the waitress was friendly. I ordered the fish and chips since it was highlighted in the menu. The order came out quickly, a huge batter fried fish fillet on top of a load of fries with side cups of tarter sauce and coleslaw. The fries and coleslaw were just what you expect, good but nothing special. The fish was outstanding, mild flaky white fish in a perfectly crunchy coating; delicious and very satisfying. My only complaint was that while it was nicely presented on a square plate, having the huge fish fillet on top of the fries made it difficult to eat since I had to move the fish around to get to the fries and cutting the fish with the fries underneath did not work well. I appreciate attractive food presentation is important, but this was too much food for the size of the plate. I really liked my dinner at Steener's, if they could raise the level of the side dishes to match the fried fish this would be truly exceptional. Keep making great fish, just upgrade the rest of food to match.

The bartender was super friendly and gave us some good tips on what to do locally. She also made us some "special shots" that we really loved. So much so that we ended up ordering a second round of them. She really knows how to pour a good drink. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the place, who was a very lovely woman. She told us a little bit about the history of the place and was very welcoming towards us. Her father was "Jack" from whom they got the name of the place from. We did also order some appetizers while we were there. I ordered the pizza log which was really good. It's comparable to an egg roll but with pizza inside. Delicious! My boyfriend ordered some fries and enjoyed them as well. Good food, good drinks and good company. We had a great time here and will definitely be back. If you get the chance to check this place out, go for it! You won't regret it.
