Need a nice lunch spot in the heart of downtown Jamestown? The Pub is your spot. It's one of those old school type of places that you feel at home from the moment you walk in. I had the knockwurst and sauerkraut, with spicy mustard. Yum. I would have exclaimed "great knockers" but the barman was a dude and that would have been awkward. We are from out of town and apparently western New York doesn't believe in opening anything on a Monday . Regardless, this place is mediocre at best . The menu is terribly limited as you can see . They make some of the food at the bar which is super gross to me . I want my food prepared behind closed doors if you're gonna use your bare hands service is MEH considering I can literally sit and count the people while I'm waiting of my server to come back from the 4 year long conversation he was having with someone else . There's 11 other people here .... I wouldn't waste my time or energy coming here again , especially since they don't take credit cards which just makes me assume that they're too cheap to pay the processing fees . However with their over priced beers , that cost should be covered . I wanted to wait until we got our food to even make a review because reviewing a place as being not worthy of visiting is wrong , however , considering it's been 42 minutes since we arrived and we still don't have food .. Great find as we traveled through Jamestown, NY! The Beef on a Wick was epic and the craft beer on draft was exceptional! Save room for the homemade peanut butter pie...! Our waiter couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Would definitely go back! read more

What an awesome place! Found thanks to Yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. Food was great, cra - walnut chicken salad sandwich on rye was amazing! BBQ pork was also really good. Seems they have specials everyday and everything seems to be made on-site. Oh and the gentleman at the bar; I believe owners son....was awesome. Such great service and hospitality. Great spot for a beef on weck and a pint in downtown Jamestown. Comes with all the condiments you could need/want, but I opted for a healthy scoop of horseradish. It did not disappoint. The Southern Tier beers are a staple in the area, and they are served up frosty. read more

Three words: sausage lentil soup! We ordered extra it was so good! Everything is homemade and you can taste that. The name is deceiving; decor is pub menu is homemade Italian. Really clean really homey vibe. read more

I had one of the best roast beef sandwiches of my life in this fantastic little wood appointed pub! Yes, the name matches the decor! Very comfy and not too dark in the middle of the day. The bartender greeted us immediately and took our order. A nice lady came from the back and asked if we wanted refills. We eat out 2 -3 times a week and that level of service is very rare! The bartender came back a couple of minutes later to ask if we needed refills but they were already full! My wife enjoyed her Reuben as well. She said that it wasn't greasy like a lot of places make it. This place is less than a block from the Lucy and Desi museum. I highly recommend it!! read more

This place is wonderful. Sammy the bartender/host is a great guy and makes everyone feel at home as do the rest of the staff. The beef on weck is incredible as is everything else. Honestly didn't know what to expect when entering from the street and I suspected it'd just be a local dive and told my wife I'd give the signal if we're making a hasty exit- man was I wrong!! The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the bar itself (recently rebuilt) was beautiful. Will definitely come again! read more

All the good things said by others about this place are true. Adjust your expectations and you'll do okay. A genuine local dive that's much better than a dive, thanks to sensitive remodeling after a 2014 fire. Terrific pizza and beef on weck, excellent old fashioneds, and super friendly service. On business travel, came here to watch Monday Night Football, have dinner and a beer. Had a blast sitting at the bar, watching 2 large TVs and getting the inside story of Jamestown from a wonderful young native bartender. A memorable evening. read more

My husband and I stopped by The Pub yesterday on a whim.... we hadn't been there in over 30 years and what a surprise! We sat at the bar and had a bite to eat.... and yes.... Mary's sauce can't be beat! As mentioned in the other review, nephew Sam the bartender is awesome! We left there feeling much like the customers on "Cheers"... maybe it's no coincidence that the bartender's name is Sam! The food was yummy and moderately priced. To us.. it was the excellent service, the warm atmoshere, the friendly folks at the bar, and talking to the owner and Sam that made our stop so special. Look out... we're coming back soon!!! read more
