Rice is perfect with it as well as naan. The amount of bitterness will vary depending on the slice of gourd that is eaten. Some were mild in taste, while others were more bitter. Overall, there was a nice balance with the soft, caramelized onions cooked with the Karela. Definitely something different to try especially here in this area. The samosas I also ordered were good as well. They were filled with potatoes and peas. The samosas came with a green chutney made with fresh chilis.
