Chicken Biriyani
Oscar Q.

First time a this place. I ordered the chicken and rice, or how they call it, biriyani. It was delish, a bit spicy, but perfect for mi likings. Definitely will come back to try something else next time.

The food here is so good! The paneer was delicious, and I liked the size of the pieces. The rice was also good especially with the sauce. I also got a chai, and I appreciate that they sweeten theirs because I love a sweet chai. It was warm and spicy and so delicious. I've also enjoyed the kheer from here, very delicious as well. The workers here are really nice, so I will definitely be back :)

Broken box

I order takeout here often, but the food is consistently mishandled. This time I was given a broken to-go box, and the entire bag was soaked in curry. On multiple occasions, I've even seen rice that fell onto the counter thrown back into my box. I've tried to overlook the careless packaging, but it has happened far too many times to ignore. The Indian food options in the High Desert are very limited, which is why I've continued coming back. But management needs to pay closer attention to quality control and packaging standards--customers deserve better.

Staff really friendly, food is amazingly flavorful! Such a hidden gem!! They have food to choose from kinda like a Chinese restaurant where you can order 1 to 3 item combos, as well as made to order. Totally reccomend this establishment, very authentic and delicious! Here's what we ordered: Butter Chicken Chicken Momo (we dipped it in our Butter Chicken sauce) Garlic Naan Tandoori Chicken And basmati rice of course! Clean restaurant, plenty of parking, no public restroom, limited seating but worth it 100%

Lowkey some of the best food I've had--absolutely fire Service was on point too. The owners are super sweet, it honestly felt like pulling up to a family's house and sharing a meal together.

I've come to this place twice and I am always greeted by a nice gentleman, he was very attentive to our visit. Food was so good I didn't get a chance to snag a photo of my meal. The chicken Tikka Masala was so delicious, the medium spice was perfect for me. I loved the vegetable samosas as well. Will be coming back more! Don't forget to try the mango lassi!

Garlic Naan, Chicken Curry, Butter Chicken, Chilli Chicken, and Basmati Rice.

Finally got the chance to try Himalayan Indian Kitchen's, and let me tell you their food is chef's kiss. The butter chicken and with the Garlic Naan combined was sooo good, I also got curry chicken very yum as well. As for drink I got a super yummy creamy Mango Lassi as my dessert since I was so stuffed. The inside is super clean and neat which I loved, another thing is that the vibes inside are chill and calming even while the staff was cooking. Oh and everyone that works here are so sweet and friendly, definitely RECOMMENDED Last thing I'll say is the prices are great.

Delicious food. Absolutely 100% delicious. Naan was fire. Butter chicken and tiki masala also fire. The hospitality is always there. The owner is so beyond friendly every time I go. I tried the spicy butter chicken this time and he saw I was mixed emotions on the spice level so he brought me some tiki masala to mix in it. Exactly what I needed to mellow it out. Amazing people amazing place amazing food. 10/10 will always go back.

Vegetable Samosa

Just had dinner after driving back from Big Bear. We almost ended up having Thai food, but they were about to close. THANK GOODNESS!! We decided to stop by and check it out. They had a nice variety available for the combination meals, but we decided to order off the menu. The vegetable samosas were incredible! And the sauces were an excellent compliment to the flavors. The garlic naan was light and fluffy with just the right amount of garlic. Our mains were delicious with the perfect amount of heat. Our server was so friendly and helpful at answering all our questions. It's a great little place in a convenient location. We will definitely be back as this is now our favorite Indian restaurant (and top 5 overall) in the area.

Regular biriyani vs. Shrimp biriyani

Well, this restaurant is a nice addition to this side of the desert, and I am all for it! This Himalyan Indian Restaurant is for the open-minded and those seeking flavor, but if you are not sure or curious about its flavors, I recommend you order one of the 3 combos offered. You not only get to visually see the dishes (as Indian food is not always visually pleasing to those who are not familiar), but selecting a combo will give you an opportunity to try a few dishes. Of course, my friend opted to order the meals in hopes of sharing our chosen dishes, and I say, for about $70, we got our money's worth. Unfortunately, they serve such meals in to-go containers, so sharing a meal was tricky but convenient to pack when I couldn't finish my Yellow Daal and Saag Paneer. I blame my fill of Mango Lassi and Naan. Mmm... Mango Lassi...think of the taste and texture as a melted mango yogurt, but cold. Are you confused yet? Let me explain. First, there are dishes I was not familiar with, so the customer service was very helpful in giving me an idea of what each dish was like. It is helpful if you were already familiar with Indian food, but if not (or just curious) and you already read this far in my review, I suggest searching the internet for descriptions of unfamiliar dishes. We were informed, with the exception of the Tandoori Chicken, that all the chicken dishes are boneless. I recommend the savory Chicken Korma, chicken simmered in a curry style sauce made with coconut. You can choose your spicy: none, mild, medium...and maybe for the more adventurous, a regular amount of spice. Yellow Daal (which I was craving) is a lentil based dish. Lentils come in various colors and flavors, and this one was yellow. I ordered it without spice and still enjoyed it. Saag Paneer has always been my favorite. I also opted not to have this dish spicy, and I loved it. So good! Again, it's not a visual dish, but I do love a good stewed spinach dish with cubes of cheese (usually goat cheese). For both the Daal and the Saag, I ate it with plain Naan bread (which you can choose from a variety of flavors). I recommend eating the Daal and Saag with Naan. Delicious! I read a review that was surprised that their meal didn't come with rice. Though we ordered a shrimp biryani (rice, which we ordered mild). The spice and flavor in the shrimp biryani were perfect. Large shrimp pieces, too! ours came with plain biryani, but really, you eat your meal with Naan. The moment you walk in, the wonderful smell and essence of Himalyan Indian food speak to you. From the cooks to the service to the food, I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I don't know if this side of the desert deserves such wonderful flavors, but I do know that those who are not familiar with challenge the flavors and those who are familiar will be open to exploring familiar and new dishes. Many of the dishes contain coconut milk or nutty curries. Dietary needs may not be available, but many dishes can be made vegan as the meat dishes offered (respectfully reflective of the culture) are lamb and chicken.

The Chicken Tikka Masala is missing in this photo but the tandoori chicken, naan and rice are great!!

Our visit began at the start of a snowstorm, so there were very few people here and we got to sit by the window and watch the snowfall throughout our meal. We started out with a couple of tasty drinks, a red wine that was fairly standard and a beer I had never heard of that was surprisingly delicious. Then we had the Palak Pakoras to start, which were nice in portion and very delicious. Then I had the Saag Paneer, which did not look very appealing upon arrival, but made up for it with its yummy flavors. My friend got the tandoori chicken which came on a hot sizzling plate, great presentation! We both enjoyed our food and our overall experience at the restaurant. Our server was friendly and helpful in making selections. What a nice lunch, we will be back!

Food 2/5 Ambiance 5/5…read moreService 4/5 I want to caveat this review by admitting that I've only had Indian food a couple times in my lifetime, but after eating this place, I can definitively say that Indian food is not my cup of tea. So if youre someone who loves Indian food, take this review with a grain of salt. Inside seating only for this place and the inside is clean with cute decor and plenty of space. Service was good and food came out fast. However, all their food was Incredibly heavy and way too pungent. Everything seemed to be slathered in sauces that's were incredibly pungent that i felt like the flavors were a punch in the senses. I was looking forward to the chicken tikka masala but it was way too watery and felt more like a tomato bisque than a tikka masala. I'd have to say that my favorite part of the meal was the garlic naan. I actually felt like I had somewhat of a stomach ache after eating here and will not be back anytime soon.

I'm sure you raised an eyebrow and thought "pasta???" Ignore that thought and try it yourself. I think it's my favorite item on the menu, it's flavorful and a heaping portion that can feed up to two people. To drink, I ordered the salty sweet lassi, delish! As for our naan, we chose the garlic chili and cheese naan. Light and full of flavor! I am one that tolerates all the heat, I asked for all plates as spicy as possible. My request was met and it was a delicious dinner. I'll be back!

From the time we ordered, the food took about 25 minutes to come out. I ordered the butter chicken, white rice, mango lassi, and garlic-cheese naan. Overall, the food was flavorful and definitely had some kick. The mango lassi was really good -- it tasted fresh and natural, like real mango. It had a creamy, milky texture from the yogurt that made it really enjoyable. The garlic-cheese naan was also a standout. It had a nice kick to it and paired really well with both the rice and the butter chicken. The white rice itself was surprisingly good too, with more flavor than your typical plain rice. The butter chicken sauce was the highlight for me. It was rich, sweet, creamy, and had that "wow" factor in flavor. My only real complaint was the chicken itself -- the outside had more flavor, but the inside was a little drier and slightly chewy compared to how tender the outside tasted. Service was friendly and helpful throughout the meal. It's not exactly cheap, but the quality and portion sizes made it feel worth it. Portions were generous enough that most people will probably have leftovers. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere, although it does get pretty loud during lunch when it's busy. Parking can also be a little rough since it's Claremont, so I'd recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early because you'll probably have to park a bit farther out and walk. Overall, I'd come back. I'd recommend it if you're looking for flavorful food with some spice and don't mind a bit of noise or a short wait during peak hours.

Beautiful restaurant, great service and tasty food. I got the daal tadka medium spicy and it was warming inside and delicious, I think I am going to try it hotter next time since I love spicy food. The aloo gobi had really delicious flavor and I loved the texture contrast between the cauliflower and potato. They had told me kurkuri bhindi was just fried okra with spices, but it was much tastier than I was expecting, all of the okra was deliciously crispy and the spices were nice. We came for a friend's birthday and they added a complimentary dessert which was some sort of fried cheese with a sweet syrup and everyone loved it.
