    Hanger Steak Frites
    Jessica B.

Excellent; the food, the service, the ambiance, everything! The restaurant itself is beautiful and perfect for date night, special occasions, etc. My girlfriends and I had our annual Christmas dinner here. We started with the meatballs, crab cakes and caesar salad. I can't decide which was my favorite as they were all fantastic! Crab cakes were much bigger than expected, meatballs were tender/flavorful and came with phenomenal toasted bread and that caesar salad was fresh/crisp as can be! For my entree, I ordered the hangar steak frites, medium-rare. The steak came out cooked correctly and the gorgonzola butter complimented it perfectly (and I usually don't even like gorgonzola!). The fries were just as delicious as the steak - I couldn't stop eating them! I would definitely recommend checking this place out if just for a drink and the ambiance alone as it's such a lovely restaurant :)

We have been talking about checking this restaurant out for a while and so glad we finally did! Sat at the bar and tried the park carnitas taco, the port wine cheese spread, and the seafood chowder- all were wonderful, but the chowder- amazing!!! So full of flavor- We shared the duck special and I would order that again and again- perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. In addition, our bartender was lovely and we truly enjoyed our evening - will definitely be back!

We were absolutely blown away by this establishment. The ambience, the service, the caliber of the food, we're all top-notch. We will absolutely be back. We live in Hingham but we didn't realize this place existed. It is honestly incredible. The food is very inventive and Versatile. White table cloths / fine dining, beautiful cathedral ceilings, great music. Friendly staff. Perfect lighting. Great for date night or family outing, can be casual or elevated. Whatever you prefer. We had the pork bun, the meatballs, and the swordfish and South and chicken. All were perfectly executed.

Great little hideaway on route 3A in Hingham. Wonderful selection of local and organic seafood and meats, and vegetables and dairy. Wonderful staff. Exceptionally well kept and clean facility. Incredible bar by the entrance. Warm and welcoming staff. Plenty of parking. The seafood chowder is top shelf and feels like It was made by a chef up in Nova Scotia! Stir fry salmon is another well thought out dish. Liberated and con succotash is just incredible. Highly recommended. 05MAR2022

Takeout tech is on point. Order online with a completely updated menu. Easy peasy. The girl wanted her bacon chee, so the Quarry Burger dinged the bell (onion mostarda on the side). I was feeling seafood, and got pulled into pan roasted swordfish with a buttery corn lobster casserole as a side. Gimme. Inside had an upper crust vibe but not overtly so, and I found myself bookmarking the interior as a place to dine in post-COVID. Order was ready on time, and the staff actually ran my take-out to the parking lot, shouting my name while I was cranking an audiobook in the car. Stellar. Foodwise, the flavor of the burger is on point - temperature of the patty was over cooked. But y'all - the house bacon is some of the best in the area. I want to eat their brunch. Sad the $16 price excluded any sides. Love fries? Expect a $22 burger + side combo. Loved my swordfish dish and the lobster corn side was a total win. Brussels were disappointing - boiled with a salamander finish, but not enough to dry out the copious moisture that made the entire dish a wet cabbage pass. Calamari didn't stand out - it was fine. Dinner for two ran $90 including tip for takeout, which felt high. Will return; as a whole, 3.5 with a round up for to-go prowess.

Was not a fan of the valentine fixed menu. Definitely going back to give it a try during regular menu time.

Having been, now, a few times, I think the reviews are a bit understated. it is fresh, fast, kind. The drawback is that they do not have a huge selection, but I suspect that is because what they have is fresh. It also does not appear overpriced. I will go back.

On Christmas Eve, (La Vigilia), many Italian families celebrate the "Feast of the Seven Fishes"…read more The custom is to serve seven different seafood dishes, each one representing one of the seven sacraments. At least that's the version of the story we've always gone by. The usual menu (since I was a tiny tot) has always included: pasta with lobster, baked stuffed shrimp, bacala (salt cod) salad, another bacala dish; this one with a marinara sauce, pan-fried smelts, clams one way or another; often casino-style, calamari, and then whatever else suits us that year to total at least seven dishes. While I didn't appreciate aspects of this meal when I was a kid (read: any bacala dish), it's now probably my favorite holiday feast bar none with any and all bacala included. While I usually get my fish at Rockyneck no matter what time of year, the day or two leading up to Christmas Eve is when we've got to buckle down. The crowd is coming. Rockyneck doesn't steer us wrong. It's actually inside the Hingham Fruit Center, a store I love and which I've reviewed separately. It consists of one large seafood counter within the larger grocery store and is its own business. I'm generally impressed with the freshness, quality and taste of the seafood they carry. The look of the fish is always pristine and I never hesitate over any of their offerings. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful and will do their best to get you the very best of what you need when you need it. Christmas Eve notwithstanding, this place is a conveniently located little gem.

We came with a large group, and let's be honest, that can go left real quick at most places...not here. The service was seamless, attentive, and genuinely warm from start to finish. No one was forgotten, no order was mixed up, no delays...just top tier customer service across the board. Now let's talk about the food...because wow. The bread basket came out fresh and warm (dangerously good), and set the tone immediately. I had the stuffed fish, and it was cooked to perfection--flavorful, well seasoned, and not heavy at all. Paired it with a fresh salad tossed in a mustard vinaigrette that was light, tangy, and just right. And the mocktails? So good. Crafted beautifully, refreshing, and not an afterthought like some places make them feel. What I love most is the consistency. Whether it's date night, a casual dinner, or a big group outing, Burtons shows up every single time. Great food, amazing service, and an experience that just feels easy. 10/10...every time.

AHI TUNA BOWL - $28 This was one of the most disappointing…read moredishes I've had in a long time. The "togarashi-crusted" tuna was not crusted at all--completely bland, with no seasoning or flavor. It tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, and simply dropped into the bowl. The rest of the ingredients were just as underwhelming. Everything was placed in separate, unappealing mounds around the bowl: a pile of tasteless sushi rice with a few sesame seeds, hard and underripe avocados chunks, unseasoned raw shredded carrots, smashed vinegar cucumbers with no trace of cilantro and beside that were the overpowering pickled red onions. To make matters worse, it all sat awkwardly on top of a mayonnaise ginger-soy aioli that did nothing to bring the dish together. There was no balance, no cohesion, and absolutely no flavor. It looked unappetizing and tasted even worse. I barely touched it. The server never asked why, and even if she had, I was with coworkers and wouldn't have felt comfortable saying how bad it was. For $28, this was unacceptable. Honestly, it felt like something a child threw together--bland, poorly executed, and completely lacking care. Would not order again.
