I've been here twice for food and neither times have they disappointed me. Service is quick and the bartenders are attentive even when it's packed. Daytime vibes are a lot more chill and relax, while the nighttime crowd gives the bar a buzzed, lively energy. The first order of food I got was a custom grilled cheese sandwich and I can say that was one of the best grilled cheese sandwich I've had so far. The second time, I got their smash burger. The patty was juicy and the burger was messy in every way you'd want a burger to be. The fried pickles was a nice complement to the entire meal, however their waffle cut fries were also delicious if you don't prefer pickles. While waiting out a rain delayed concert, my friend and I made our way to The Quiet Few on a Saturday night. The place was absolutely packed, but we managed to snag two spots at a corner table. You order with the bartenders at the bar and then take a seat to wait for your food. We both decided to order the Smash burger. My friend has a gluten sensitivity so she was thankful that they had a gluten-free bun. I ordered my Smash burger with a side of fried pickles. The Smash burger was juicy and absolutely delicious. The fried pickles had all of the saltiness that I was craving. To wash it all down and to celebrate the fact that it was her birthday, we decided to do a round of pickle back shots. Surprisingly, the pickle juice as a chaser was incredible and I think I may have found the only way I'm willing to take shots at this age. We tried out several of the other bars and restaurants around and they were just ok, but The Quiet Few was our favorite by far! Everyone was friendly, the drinks were flowing, and the music was blasting! Free koozies given out to us with our drinks which we loved! We did not try the food but everything that came out looked and smelled great. Yes, it's a bit small and you may need to wait outside for just a bit if they are over capacity but it's worth it. To be honest, I'm glad that they monitor the capacity because otherwise it would be too jam packed! We ended up coming back every night that we were in town because it was a blast! 4.5!!! We came here on Trivia night (Mondays) with some friends and it was so much fun! The bar space isn't too big so the night we went it was pretty crowded but we still made it work! The first 20mins we were standing around trying wait for a table to open up and honestly since it's a small space it did feel like it was hard to move around. But we were able to order some food with the bartender (they don't have waiters come to your table, super casual you order your drinks/food at the bar and they will drop off your food) it was a little bit chaotic since it was busy on the night we went. We got the Nashville fried hot chicken sandwich and it was soo good!!! Very juicy, flavorful and crunchy! Trivia questions were tough but it was a super fun activity with friends! Been living in Eastie the past year and finally got around to trying this place for a casual night out. Wish I tried it sooner because I'd definitely be a regular! The vibe in here is amazing. You choose your own seating, order your food and drinks at the bar, and it'll be brought to your table. This is actually a very interesting way of service because there's never any pressure to rush ordering or eating without that part of service at the table. There are more drinks on the menu than food and the food was wow, delicious! The fried chicken burger was perfectly cooked, perfectly crispy, coating was not too thick. The burger was also super tasty with a perfectly cooked egg on top. Note the burgers do not come with sides so we added a side of waffle fries. Buffalo cauliflower was also great and comes with blue cheese and ranch dips. Yum yum and yum! For indoor dining they require proof of vaccination (showing a picture of the vaccination card + ID to match name and date of birth). There are also some outdoor patio tables. read more

I have had a series of negative interactions here over the past 3 years. It's a neighborhood bar- various instances of mix or match food quality which is to be expected-- but the issue is really bartender service. Barbacks and kitchen staff are really quite incredible and efficient while still being kind. Unfortunate consistency of customer interaction as related to individual bartenders is an issue. Individual staff members are on a scale of both really rude and slow or on top of it and incredible. It's a small bar so it's a toss up of who you will have. I had a bartender even today make a snide comment of "I was supposed to not take your order after the second time you closed our" and appearing to reference that I closed a main tab and the unexpectedly opened and closed another for another round after a group arrived at the bar. Went up again to begin an order with a friend who had just arrived and with their card --- received a snide comment even though tab was with a new card. Explained that situation and was greeted with sarcasm and rudeness-- will be irritating to return with less than ideal staff and customer interaction. It's unfortunately a consistent pattern for frankly one of the only places in Eastie. read more

The Quiet Few is a gem. Back when they opened, my friends and I used to come here wayyy too often (or not enough, depending on who you ask) and always had a great time. We love it so much that even though we live in JP, Brookline, Somerville, Malden, etc. we make our way to Eastie to go here. Why? The Quiet Few has awesome staff, great food, and a fun/lively atmosphere without any of the pretentiousness you might find elsewhere. You'll often see the owner, Josh, behind the bar or bussing tables and no matter how busy the place gets, the bartenders will see you and get you another drink (on behalf of all the super short people who are always missed when trying to order, we thank you). The pickle backs are our favorite thing on the menu. Definitely recommend the spicy one if you like heat! read more

Instead you'll get hot dogs covered in a bunch of frito crap or smash burgers that resemble a scab that a homeless lady generously offered me in Maverick, either is surely going to disappoint you unless you suck down enough $10 Jim beams and $5 Tecates that they buy from the clipper ship. I have a hard time believing that anyone really likes this tasteless menu, but after judging the congregation of Hannah bananas, Chads and other old money yuppies it makes sense there's lack of taste all around. Easily our favorite place to go since my partner and I moved to East Boston. This is the coziest little bar in the neighborhood, with an amazing selection of whiskeys. The food is outstanding; waffle fries with french onion dip are our favorite staple. I love the black bean burger because it's not just another frozen veggie patty, it's got some spice to it. Comfort food abounds, from the grilled cheeses to the sandwiches and wings. Since COVID-19 will keep them shut for the forseeable future, they've been offering Fri-Sun takeout that is a welcome weekend treat. Nothing compares to the atmosphere and experience of being there. Josh, the owner, is one of the friendliest and most outgoing people in the neighborhood; he and the entire staff have really created a community connection in this little bar. We're longing for the days when they can fully reopen and we can all enjoy a drink together. Oh and don't forget the pickleback shots, everyone's got to have at least one of those. read more
