I stayed at the hotel because we were moving and it was close to the new house location. Pros- close to anything on the Main Line; decent TV and channels (we're locals, so we would know) Cons- - moldy smell in room (at one point I felt my pillow to see if it had been dipped in water!) - room was very tight for 2 adults and one child - desk set-up was awkward, with no ports to power up - pillows are that awful down material where your head sinks in and NOT in a good way - bed was lumpy - hearing the shower turn on from the next room (!) was so loud it woke me up In comparison, I recently stayed at two separate SpringHill Suites and all the cons above would have been moot AND I would have gotten a free breakfast included in my rate. The hotel was reasonably priced and located near many restaurants and shops. All the staff we encountered were very nice. Room was clean and quiet. What stood out the most was the excellent service we received from the housekeeping department, specifically the head of housekeeping, Mike. The honest room attendants found my son's watch we left behind and when I called , they had already set it aside! Mike was very kind and made sure we would receive it and even followed up with an update. We have never received this kind of personalized service at any hotel and we have stayed at many. we stayed here for 2 nights - in town for a wedding. Someone had said they renovated the rooms. ummm, NO!! wall paper was peeling off- found a huge bug crawling in our bed and the AC wasn't working -it was a fluke 90 degree weekend in april. The hotel rooms are clean and parking and wifi are free. Thats about where it ends. There are events (weddings and such) so there is constant noise in the hallways during the night. Doors are paper thin. They don't have any bellhop service which i find a little bizarre. So be prepared to hoof it from you car to your room. read more

Our company has had their Holiday Party at The Radnor Hotel for a few years now. I could not say enough good things about this place, the staff, the food, just everything! I plan our party every year and the entire staff makes it such an easy process. Our party is like a wedding with a cocktail hour and then a big party with dinner and dancing after. The staff is so friendly, the food is hot and delicious and the drinks are great. They decorated the ballroom so beautifully too. It really helped get everyone in the holiday spirit. We also stayed in the hotel after the party. The rooms were very clean, spacious and it's easy to get anywhere in the hotel from your room. I had my wedding at the Radnor a few years back and it was wonderful. The food was great and they gave you lots of choices, they were flexible with the planning (I had the ceremony at the hotel inside) and the banquet rooms and table settings were beautiful. We had all of our guests stay at the hotel and no one had any issues with reservations or their rooms. They made it all pretty easy for me. Also, it was great that everyone could head over to the bar after the reception so that people didn't have to drive anywhere and I didn't have to arrange transportation for everyone. I've also stayed overnight more recently (about 4 months ago) and the rooms have been renovated -- the decor has been upgraded and they've got WIFI too, which is convenient. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and I think they've done a really nice job. I recommend it to people all the time. read more

Through work I had to take some SAP classes and there were a handful of nearby hotels which had shuttles to SAP HQ. Honestly, I originally chose this one because the website showed nice enough rooms and the hotel has the same name as Josh Radnor, who plays Ted on my favorite TV show, How I Met Your Mother. I figured, "What the hell, lets go with it." In the end I didn't use the shuttle so I can't say how that works but I have spent a week here, longer than I have at any other hotel. This place has plenty of pros and cons.. So the best thing I think I can do is provide a list of these. Pros to staying at The Radnor Hotel are a nice and simple room, with a nice shower and massaging showerhead. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. There's free WiFi which has decent speed. There's a buffet breakfast possible and it's located close to the freeway for quick access. However... Cons to staying at The Radnor Hotel are plentiful as well. My room's view (not all rooms) actually was that of the rooftop of the place. So, gravel and that's it. I never really opened my windows because what's the point. The bathroom in the room was nice enough but the sink clogged and clogged quickly. The room also lacked a mini-refirdgerator. This is a huge faux-pas in my opinion. I was able to score some ice from down the hall to keep some water cold but since the sink didn't get very cold, it was the only way I could have any cold food or drink. This also meant I couldn't bring leftovers back from anywhere. Good thing I didn't have some kind of medication I needed chilled either. The ice isn't a full solution. The WiFi that I mentioned before is spotty. It works but sometimes it'll just slow to a crawl or cut out my signal. It also isn't protected at all which made me nervous when I had to buy some tickets online with it. The breakfast was complementary for me but only because I was 'business class' due to the SAP thing. They will ask for your room number each morning to ensure you're on the list and if you're not you must go add it first so they can charge the room. The issue here is that, even the local Holiday Inn provides breakfast for all their customers... and plus the breakfast wasn't even that good. They had fruit and yogurt; oatmeal and cereal. Still, the whole thing was quite limited and not a thing changed the entire week. Some variety would have been nice, or even some hot food besides the oatmeal. I would have really appreciated eggs or pancakes or french toast. The fact they charged others fifteen dollars per meal for this just made me see it like a rip-off that I luckily had built into my price. There is a high school nearby which actually had provided some unwanted noise. I didn't mind the marching band practicing but I didn't care for the announcer on loudspeaker narrating some kind of sporting event or something. It sounded like an apartment complex neighbor blaring their TV or fighting with their spouse. Luckily it didn't last very long. I was able to enjoy my night with the minor fact that a power flux totally just cut my computer and air conditioner off. They started back up but it's not cool I can't trust my computer equipment to their power system. As you can see, the cons are more numerous than the pros but still, I haven't hated it here. It's nice but just feels a bit 'stuffy'. The staff has been pleasant enough but I still think it's overpriced. Would I stay here again? Not right away. I'd try somewhere else first for sure. The surrounding area is nice though. It's located near a wealthy downtown district and apparently the largest mall in the East Coast. There are some good local eats around here which I would recommend investigation if anyone stays here. In the end, I think I've tried the Radnor and would prefer to look elsewhere in the future. Perhaps the Segal? The Hannigan? The Smulders? What about The Harris? Do those exist? read more

I recently stayed at the hotel for a work conference and was very pleased with the accommodations. My only complaint was that my room was right near the ice machine and stairwell so I heard every time the door opened or ice was dispensed---very thin walls! Everything else was great and in a very nice location. I'll be returning the next few years and look forward to staying at the Radnor again, just in a room a little farther away! read more

I was here for a wedding and to be honest, the bridal party was pretty lame. (Thus I'll withhold the name) but the saving grace to the event was Paul, the bartender. Not only did he actually make my drinks to spec, but he was outgoing and ensured I had a good enough time to forget about the morons who don't know how to enjoy themselves. I swear, Paul was sent to bartend this wedding by the grace of God, and thankfully for him, everybody at that damn wedding was able to see me doing the "MC Hammer" dance to Taylor Swift songs before the evening concluded. Ladies: Do Not book your summer weddings at the Radnor. The air conditioning is old/out dated/broke! I held my daughters wedding there on July 6th. The ballroom was extreamly HOT. Not warm, HOT. I did everything in MY power to make the hotel aware the evening before as we sweated through the rehearsal dinner and was so worried about 150plus people in the HOT ballroom the next day! NOTHING CHANGED! I spent this once in a lifetime event apologizing to my guests for how HOT and uncomfortable it was! There is NO excuse for this. Again, the hotel was fully aware and did NOTHING. Portable air units. Fans. Anything to help. Even the workers were sweating. All the contact people and event staff were wonderful to work with but they deserve better too! The wedding can't have a do over. If any of my guests are reading this, again I apologize. read more

I stayed here with my sister for one night in mid-September when the hotel had only been open a few weeks. We felt safe with the virus precautions they were taking; however, I wish I'd been told when I booked that the hotel garden was still being renovated as my sister and I looked forward to having our breakfast there since the cafe was not open. With COVID in mind, I brought my own pillow, but inadvertently left it at the hotel when I checked out. I called the hotel when I got home to ask if it had been located and could be sent to me. The first desk person I talked to was irritated and wanted my credit card again so I could pay for FedEx. Before agreeing to the charge, however, I checked the FedEx cost for a pillow--more than I wanted to pay since I mainly wanted my good quality pillowcase back, so I called back to explain and reached the same irritated front desk person who said she'd have to check to see if they could mail it. When I filled out the hotel satisfaction survey, I mentioned this experience. The assistant manager contacted me right away to apologize, and the desk clerk I spoke to the second time was very pleasant; she connected me to housekeeping, and they sent me the pillowcase the next day. I've described this experience at length because I suspect that a lot of travelers will be bringing their own pillows during this COVID time, and I think the hotel should be prepared with a policy for how they might return any COVID-precaution items that guests might forget. read more

I stayed here when dropping off my son at Haverford College and stayed for two nights. I have stayed at a different location when dropping him off in the past but it was booked. I was a little nervous after reading the reviews but the location looked great and the pictures looked ok. Unfortunately, I agree with many of the negative reviews. The staff at the hotel could not be any nicer from the check in to the restaurant they all provided great service but unfortunately it could not make up for the rooms. We were in the 'garden area' which is first level but feels like a basement. As we walked down the stairs the smell of wet or mold and very strong carpet freshener prevailed. Then we entered our room and my son and I said at the same time 'gross' it had a very very strong cigarette smell, it literally smelled like someone had been smoking minutes before we walked in. We both said there is no way we could stay in the room my son has some allergies and I have infrequent asthma but symptoms come on with smoke. I went back to check in and the person behind the desk she was very apologetic but also made it clear there were only rooms available in the 'garden' area, I wasn't sure if she thought I was making up the smell to get out of the 'garden' floor or likely because no one wanted to stay on this smelly floor but she was nice enough to walk me to another room on the garden floor and asked if it was better. It still smelled moldy but at least it did not smell of smoke. By the time we settled in it was 9:40 and we went to the dining area and our only option was to order off their late night menu which included burgers and they were great, we were hungry and they hit the spot. I woke up early and tried to use the fitness room but the equipment was sparse and broken so I went for a run instead. As far as sleeping well, it was tough, the walls are super thin so anytime someone coughed or sneezed in the adjoining room it sounded like they were in our room. We returned from a day of errands and moving into the dorm and we were tired so my son decided to take a nap around 4pm but we were right next to the cleaning staff and they yelled at each other very loudly outside of our room for about 40 minutes. I sounded like someone might have been in training but one cleaning person was yelling loudly at the other that they were not doing a good job. I couldn't believe they would yell outside of guest rooms how terrible the cleaning was. They were right though! As others note the bathrooms are very old, small and just pretty gross. I also could not get any wifi or cellular service on my phones or devices at all. I think it was because we were in the basement. When you check in they advertise free wifi but we could not get any service and I had to go outside to even use my cellular plan. I have not stayed in a hotel this gross in a very long time. It is in a very nice area and has a nice entrance and restaurant, perhaps the 2nd and 3rd floors are nicer but I would not recommend the garden floor and will try to never stay here again unless they do a major remodel. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Radnor. Every single employee I encountered was polite, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure my friend's wedding which was held at the hotel went off without a hitch. Flew in from Texas and was nervous about being so far from home but I immediately felt the sense of hospitality and all nerves disappeared. The servers and bartenders in the restaurant are so helpful and nice. Breakfast buffet was amazing (definitely try the sausage...so delish), happy hour was AWESOME and affordable but drinks were very affordable not during happy hour as well. I made a reservation at The Radnor Hotel after looking at many reviews and I was shocked at the condition of this property. At $169 per night there is an expectation that the basics will be well executed. The stay was a nightmare. The hotel is dated and feels "old". It is musty smelling and frankly not aging well. I was here because it was Parents Weekend at a neighboring college. The temperature in the afternoon was around 70 degrees and the air was on in my room. When my companion and I returned to our room later in the evening the room was a sauna. Apparently the hotel switches the air conditioning on during the day and switches to heat in the evening. My room was on the courtyard level. I called the front desk to find out why the room was so hot and they explained the switch from air to heat. The front desk suggested that we turn off the heat and open our room window - they also offered to bring a fan to the room. I took them up on the offer. The fan was tiny and portable. The situation was ridiculous. It was a horrible evening. I called the front desk and asked to cancel my reservation for the second evening. The one thing that was right for me was the ease with which they allowed me to cut my reservation short without penalty. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

We hosted my parents 70th Wedding Anniversary here at the Sunday Brunch. Our group was an assortment of adults children and even a few toddlers and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The Manager Holly was exceptionally friendly and the staff kept coming around with mimosa and coffee refills., silverware replacements and cleaning away used plates. The brunch food selection was perfect-- something for everybody-- and the kids really liked the chocolate fountain while the adults liked the carving stations and smoked fish selection and personal omelet preparation. The hotel also was helpful and ordered and provided a very special lemon cake for this very special event. read more

I requested a crib, fridge, and microwave when I made reservations. I called 3 days prior to arrival to confirm they had these notes in our reservation. Upon checking in I again asked if these items were already in our room and was told they were in our room. We keyed into room and there was NO crib, NO fridge, and NO microwave. The AC was also not working and it was extremely hot and uncomfortable! We called the front desk and someone said it would be right up with no apology. After about 30 mins I called and explained the urgency of needing these items for my baby. This person gave me attitude and said "Well you just requested these items you need to give us time to get it up to you but it'll be right up soon." I was furious because no we did not JUST request these items we called to say they weren't in our room as requested and expected. The items were brought to our room. After an hour we realized the fridge was BROKEN. This was a major problem because I had 8 bags of breastmilk that we traveled with that was now spoiling! I had to bother the bride and move my milk into her hotel room fridge. We finally got a working fridge. Baby's nap was ruined because of no crib upon arrival and maintenance coming in 3 times. Two times for the fridges and once to try to look at AC. We were hot and uncomfortable all weekend. When loading our van to check out we noticed someone hit our van in the parking lot. Manager on duty said there are no cameras but we still left our information and a photo of the damage. We were given $30 off our stay for all of these problems! read more

We really enjoy going to the Radnor Hotel and the Glenmorgan Bar and Grill. Although they are well known for their fabulous Sunday brunch, we enjoy going during the week for drinks and dinner. Glenmorgan has awesome drink and appetizer specials from Mon-Thurs from 5-7 which we take advantage of. The service is always attentive and friendly. We had only been to the restaurant until recently when a massive pumbing problem in our home displaced us. Having enjoyed The Glenmorgan several times, The Radnor Hotel was my first call. We were so upset about our predicament & the state of our home and their staff could not have been nicer: from the reservation call, to check in and check out. The hotel was pretty close to sold out on the nights we were there so I had no idea what kind of room we were going to get. It turns out, I needn't have worried because the front desk staff told us all the rooms have been renovated. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We loved the decor,which would probably be best described as warm, modern and welcoming. I had to work from the hotel room so I was glad there was a spacious work desk and the free WiFi was much appreciated. Most of all we LOVED the mattress and we are going to get one for our home. Despite the stress we were under, we were made to feel at home in The Radnor. The rate was a good value and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting from out of town. read more

Very expensive for what you get. I paid $15 for a very basic continental breakfast and $169/night for a very basic room. There was a strange squeaking noise in my room every ~90 seconds and the water pressure in the (basic, unimpressive) shower was so high that I got water in my inner ear that I can't extract (even after 3 days of trying!). Generally speaking, this place was clean, but a big disappointment in most other regards. I'd recommend that you avoid this place entirely. read more

My family just had the Champagne Sunday Brunch at the Radnor Hotel. It was really outstanding. We have been going to another well-known restaurant/inn for years, thinking it was the best in the area. Boy, were we wrong. The variety of food, the freshness, and the ease of getting to the buffet can't be beat. They set up the food in a large area all to itself. You're not backing up into other people's tables or squeezing into a tiny room like other places we've been. The service was wonderful too. Very efficient with bringing mimosas, coffee and clearing. My father and two sons come and all three generations agreed this is simply the best Brunch around. We'll be back! read more

Held our daughter's wedding reception here for 200 people on Saturday. It was fantastic. Great food, perfect service. The staff was easy to work with and amazing. Many guests stayed at the Hotel and it was very nice. The bar is a particularly great feature, which allowed for several more hours of after-party enjoyment! read more
