Stayed here because of it's proximity to the University and because the Convention Center was booked. However, not a good value for the price. Front desk was a bit snarky when asked about amenities (only a few) and no breakfast with limited coffee availability. And, do you want the coffee in your room restocked after using? A recent stay at the Radnor Hotel for 2 nights, and as far as I'm concerned, everything was just great. My room was spotlessly clean when I arrived, and stayed that way until I checked out. Friendly, courteous service from the time I checked in, all throughout my stay, and through my checkout. I also was at an event where I had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel. All the meals were prepared very well, with quite a variety to choose from. Are the rooms "out of date" as many suggest. Well, perhaps the building is "dated" but for me it's also some of the charm. Modern conveniences of WiFi, cable TV, HVAC controls, etc... was ample enough for me. All in all, a positive experience for me for my stay. read more

A group of 10 of us decided to check out the Sunday brunch here a few weeks ago. We thought $28 (inclusive of champagne) was a great deal. Little did we realize just how good of a deal it actually was until we got there. We were seated in a semi-private area for larger groups, which was nice compared to the larger dining room which was much noisier. For a group of our size, the service was phenomenal. Someone was consistently checking in on us, refolding our napkins when we would go to get more food, asking if we needed more drinks, clearing our plates, etc. They were very friendly and professional and I always consider that a huge plus. The selection of foods was excellent as well. Whether you were craving breakfast or lunch, there was definitely something for everyone. It was also nice to see the staff continuously stirring or turning over the hot dishes, so as not to allow them to just sit. The presentation was top notch. The only thing I was not pleased with occurred at the end of our brunch. The waitress placed the check down on the table before we asked for it. This is a pet peeve of mine- a check should never be placed on the table without having asked for it, unless they mention they are getting ready to close, etc. Come hungry because there are plenty of offerings. Whether as a couple or a larger group like us, I think you will find The Radnor Hotel's Sunday brunch to be exquisite. I look forward to returning sometime soon. read more

The hotel is pretty and the staff is ok. The room service menu is extremely limited and breakfast starts at 0630, which is a problem for business travelers. A nice upgrade for the rooms would be some type of premium coffee and tea offerings. I was expecting more of a boutique hotel but I don't find that this is. read more

Staying at The Radnor Hotel for a wedding was a really great experience. Highlight Reel: -Even though the hotel was booked solid, they let me check in 6 HOURS early so I could take a nap before the bachelor/bachelorette party after flying in on a red-eye. -Aforementioned bachelor/bachelorette party consisted of 20 people, who planned on taking the train into town for copious amounts of shots and inappropriate behaviors. They were kind enough to let all 20 of us cram into their 12 seater van and dropped us off at the station. The train service was halted when some stupid bitch ran onto the tracks to save her dog - the dog made it, she didn't. We called them for local recommendations and they came back to get us, brought an additional car, and dropped us all off in Wayne to get a bite to eat (see Flanigan's Boathouse & Christopher's reviews). After dinner and drinks, they came back and picked our drunks asses up and brought us back to the hotel. 5 stars alone for doing this for us (drunk shuttle services is not a part of their regular hotel amenities) -We then stumbled into the hotel's bar (see Glenmorgan review) They were great. -The wedding & reception was fantastic. The room was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the subsequent jokes about endangered Chilean Sea Bass (that was mighty tasty) kept us laughing all night (you had to be there). Bevon's rum punch lubricated our inhibitions as the dancing and inappropriate wedding discussions were in full swing. *insert shout out to bartenders "Sexy Bevon" and "Sexy Steve" for their excellent mixology skills and their patience with Table 8* They didn't technically kick us out, but gently encouraged table 8 to get the hell out by vacuuming around us. We got the hint and stumbled back to Glenmorgan, who again, treated us well. Overall, the hotel was great. It was clean, the rooms were decent (I must have gotten one of the renovated rooms, because mine was just fine), the staff was MORE than accommodating, the food & beverage was great. The wedding and reception were seamless, and they put up with my family, which is quite an undertaking. The only negative was the fight I had with the vending machine, which was not cooperating with me. I'm pretty sure it was user error, though. Thanks for making my cousin's wedding great! read more

Glad to see I am not alone-- most of the other reviewers have the same complaint I came here with: the rooms are super outdated for the price they are charging! I came here for a wedding a couple weeks ago. My room was in the $140 realm, not the $170 others have listed, but I still expected something a little nicer. I too have been to Holiday Inns and Mariotts that have a more modern, stylish look. Ours was simply...clean. The dining room was also a little frumpy, but they had an outdoor garden area that was really nice, which was where cocktail hour took place. I did think the food they served was above average. I was especially impressed with the brunch the next day... figured it would be an upscale continental breakfast, but woke to find everything from braised veal to risotto balls to mounds of peel-and-eat-shrimp to a chocolate fondue fountain! If not for this brunch, I probably would have given 2 stars. :) Now, bring on the interior designers and get the rooms a makeover! read more

Have gone to holiday brunches here twice. The food is adequate buffet food. This year I was completely frustrated by there service. In calling to schedule brunch for Easter I was hung up on twice & then put into someone's voicemail. Laura called me back a week later to let me know there were no openings. Ironically, someone in our party called 2 days after me & got a call 3 days before me to schedule. Too many good options in that area for poor service. read more

Outstanding customer service at this hotel. My wife and I were here today for a wedding shower. The people at this hotel are extremely friendly, it's almost scary. The hotel entrance is a bit tricky and when you first enter its a bit dark and seems strange. But it's a nice place. I can't speak about the rooms as of yet because we didn't stay but the reception today was top notch. The servers were very friendly and the bartender was great. The spread for the shower today was the best of all. There were probably 60 or so people here today and the spread was everything from breakfast to fish. My personal favorite was the mahi mahi and the pierogi and the mixed veggies. Some of the other items were French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, Danish etc. for dessert they offered a variety of cakes. The carrot and cheesecake were amazing! Coffee was good as well. After today we're excited to stay here and enjoy the upcoming wedding. I wish big chain hotels had the customer service that the Radnor has. Solid 5 stars. read more

I had a need to stay in Radnor PA, and the Radnor fit the bill. Room was not overly large, but had a comfy bed, flat screen TV, speedy free wi-fi (was able to stream HD Netflix without issue), and good water pressure in the shower. A little pricey for what you're getting, but there isn't much competition in the area, so not surprising. read more

We stayed at the Radnor Hotel for my son's wedding this weekend. It was VERY busy but the rooms felt new and clean. Complimentary water, plenty of ice and the Glenmorgan kindly accommodated several wedding after parties. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Congratulations to owners on the remodel. Stayed here in early may, and I'm now writing a very late review... But this place was nice. The hallways and outside decor is a bit fancier than most hotels but the room itself is about the same. The service and room size was average, and the room was about $170 per night. It is a nice place to stay, but I would not pay that amount. You can easily find this for about $130 or less. The first night there it was freezing and we tried to turn the temperature up but it didn't do anything. We complained to the staff the next day and they said it's something with the central air and they can't do anything about it. We didn't understand how you have thermostats in each room but you can't change the room temperature. We ended up getting a few bucks back and they gave us a tiny heater for the room. Overall I think our trouble was a one time thing, but I would be careful. If you are paying all that money, they better treat you well. read more

This review is for event services and catering - not for staying at the hotel. I attended a catered dinner meeting held in a lovely mid-sized room at the radnor Hotel. Our event included a cash bar with complimentary soft drinks and a choice of chicken, fish or vegetarian meal. Rolls and butter were fine, salad was pre-plated but fresh and crisp with a delicious sweet dressing. I had the veggie entree which looked to be the best choice by far - a bed of cous-cous with pesto and a stack of grilled veggies on top. Service was attentive (3 servers - one who also tended bar) for our group of 35 women) including coffee and dessert, This was a nice event and a fine space. Incidentally room rates seema bit high ($249 per night on a Saturday). Not sure if I ever would need to stay here - and not sure if it is big enough for a large wedding - but a small wedding or anniversary party would be nice here, I think. read more

The hotel is aesthetically beautiful. The only comments I have; the walls are very thin, and if you're near the elevator, as I was, it's VERY noisy in the morning. You can hear every room door close and open, people talking in the hallway, and housekeeping, despite the closed door. Additionally, despite having the "Do Not Disturb" sign displayed, housekeeping knocked on my door THREE times the first morning I was there, and walked into my room, after requesting that they return, on the second morning. I had to cancel my plans to attend a wedding in Philadelphia because of a category 4 hurricane that caused my flight to be cancelled. I notified the hotel about the problem and asked for consideration because it was only 24 hours prior to my reservation. (the hotel does have a 48 hour cancellation policy) This is my second review. My first review was responded to by the Radnor hotel with a lie. The hotel representative states that I cancelled my flight but could still have attended the function by taking a different flight but chose not to. This is false. The only flight I could get would have taken me to Philadelphia after the wedding was over. They did offer me 50% off the one day room charge. But I thought it was less than accommodating of this hotel to negotiate the fee with me when it was not possible for me to make the wedding and thus to honor the reservation. I had stayed at the hotel before and found it to be adequate. The truth is, it is the only hotel in that area. What stands out more than anything is that the hotel lied in their response. This was unnecessary and unprofessional. I state the truth about my experience and to deny the facts is unconscionable. read more

22 years of Mother's Day brunches with our entire family underscores our affection for the food quality, ambiance and top-notch service that diners receive at this wonderful restaurant. Mimosas and other drinks as well as special requests are delivered in a timely manner by friendly and attentive staff. The wide variety of food - all excellent - kept family members happy and satisfied as we enjoyed the live piano music. The desserts are always excellent from the petit fours and baklava to the pecan and carrot cakes. I particularly love their cheese blintzes The blintzes are accompanied by apple compote but I use the cherry or blueberry compotes snagged from the beef station and waffle station to complement the dish. (The sour cream can be found by the potato bar.) We did not reserve a table this year in time (think previous December or earlier!) but the manager, Ava Weston, put us on the wait list; as soon as a cancellation came in she inserted us in their list and we 11 enjoyed another year of the Mother's Day brunch celebration at the Radnor Hotel! read more

I stayed at The Radnor Hotel last night with my daughter and we had a wonderful stay. The rooms have all been very recently renovated and look fantastic. In addition to being spotless, the entire hotel is extremely Covid safe. My daughter and I felt very comfortable with the Covid precautions the hotel has taken. The entire staff from the gentleman at the front desk when we checked in, to the housekeeping staff, to the general manager were extremely professional, friendly, and wanted to ensure we were enjoying our stay. I've stayed here a few times for business because it's one of the only hotels in the area. Pros: Very friendly service, consistently good food, free wifi, clean (although, dated) rooms, walkable distance to shopping and fast casual restaurants. The hotelsalso seems to be undergoing a renovation with new carpet and furniture in the lobby since last time I stayed here. Cons: Mostly dated decor (see above - hopefully the renovations will extend to the guest rooms), room cleaners will check on you even with "Privacy" sign in door, limited toiletries in room (only soap, shampoo, and conditioner - no lotion), and my very mild allergies tend to act up here. Not sure if it's because it's an older hotel or maybe the type of cleaning supplies they use. read more

This was probably the worst stay I had in a hotel that was clean before. I want to start off by saying that the staff was very friendly in the limited interactions I had with them and the place was clean. It is apparently a hotel in the area that is really big on weddings whether the person is having it there or not. Check in was crowded and the elevator always had people go into it. The hotel room was small and the walls must have been paper thin. If there was someone doing something in the hall or slamming a door, you heard it. We will get back to that. The little bar downstairs is advertised as open to one. When we came back from the concert that brought us to the area, we went to get a drink. Unfortunately, a wedding that was staying there had arrived and filled the place. There was no way we could get near the bar. Also, they had just stopped serving food, so we went out. We got back to the hotel and climbed into the comfy bed. Figured we would get some sleep before the long trip home the next day. Around 1:40 in the morning, I was woken by a drunk woman screaming down the hallway about finding a friend or boyfriend or whatever. Over the next several hours, there were doors slamming and people stomping down the hallway, which you could hear as if it was in your room. That finally stopped right before the families staying apparently started getting up. At 5 or 6, you could hear a little kid yelling down the hallway. Doors slammed off and on until 9 am when a little kid kicked my door for 30 straight seconds. The mixed clientele of people up till 3 and those that get up at 5 added to the fact there is no soundproofing of your room made this the worst stay at a hotel in my life. The fact that they charged like it was a really great hotel, which it wasn't didn't help. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It gets a second star for the staff being very friendly and the fact it was clean. read more

Although we did not have our wedding here, we did have guests stay at this hotel for our wedding. It is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful suite that we stayed in April 28th and 29th. Their restaurant has great hours and great food and their costumer service is amazing. They handed out bags for our guests staying at the hotel, helped all my guests find their rooms and were just extremely helpful all around. It is also located in a very nice area. We decided to go to the Thanksgiving Buffet at this establishment this year. My first impression was that the place smelled like a nursing home. When we walked down the hall to the banquet room I expected to see old folks in wheelchairs along the halls. I'm just being honest. The bad: -The food tasted okay but it was not hot AT ALL. We dined at 1:30. Sterno burns out in about 6 hours assuming they were using the large cans. If the buffet started at 11 then I can only guess that the food did not go in hot or the water in the pans was not hot to begin with. -The drinks we ordered took an extremely long time to come to our table. -There was a bit of lurking waitstaff at the end of the meal. I'm sure they wanted to clear our table but our daughter was given her drink in such an untimely manner that we wanted to stay so that she could finish it. There were plenty of empty tables so absolutely no reason to lurk. -It took forever to get the bill and then ages more to pay it. -The tables were so close together that you sometimes felt like a rat in a maze trying to make your way to the buffet. -There was music blasting out of speakers over us along with live piano music coming from the other side of the room. That was most annoying! The good: -The wait staff (Miles) was friendly, personable, and cleared our table often. -The kids, ages 7, 10, and 13, LOVED the chocolate fountain. -I was very happy to see shrimp cocktail on the buffet even though it was not mentioned online. -The bill was very affordable. -The bathrooms were clean. -The tables were quickly attended to as diners left so that we never had to look at messy tables. -There was a very good selection of food to choose from. We 'settled' for this place because we waited too long to make a reservation at our first choice. While I'm very happy that we were able to find a place to have Thanksgiving dinner and appreciate all the hard work that went into the day by the waitstaff, cooks, bus people, cleaning people, dishwashers, etc., IF the food had been hot most of my experience would have been seen through a much more positive perspective. read more

I came here with a wedding party renting 27 rooms including suites. The manager was informed we would be gathering in one of the suites post wedding. We arrived at midnight and were shorty confronted with a hotel worker pounding on the door, informing us of a noise complaint. In my opinion the decibel level was mild for a hotel gathering (no stereo, people simply talking) but none the less we tried to keep it down. Ten minutes later another hotel worker pounded on the door threatening to call the police if we didn't disperse to our own rooms in 3 minutes... Why rent 27 rooms and large suites to a wedding party if they cant gather? Maybe the front desk workers weren't brought up to speed on our needs- or didn't care? Maybe this place was built with paper thin walls floor and ceilings? Regardless customer service is seriously lacking. We did not feel welcome or comfortable here. What a shame! Response to 'Ken B' : The assertion our group was intoxicated and unruly is not only offensive, it's untrue. The party on the evening of the 26th that you claim I was apart of is inaccurate. Actually I was in a wedding party the night of the 25th. I suppose your hotel is so often in conflict with guests it got confusing for you Ken... Claiming I was not a registered guest to disparage my account is also misguided. As I was a guest of the grooms family. I resent the treatment at your hotel. I resent the defamation. And I resent the lying slander of my account. You would be better served listening to your customers and putting the energy in to improving your business- instead of attacking your critics. read more

In fact, it is amazing to see the hotel actually respond to a review at all. As is indicative of poor hospitality and an dismissive attitude toward customers, this appears to be the first review that the hotel has ever responded to. To the Radnor, we would like you know that we feel so very fortunate to have elicited your first response to a review. Perhaps you will eventually learn that customer service is necessary in order to run a successful business and the way you treat guests is not a viable business model. This is a situation you created. Had you told us about the two hour limit when we made our reservation, this never would have happened. Rather, you decided to obtain our money and then institute a rule on a dining experience that is supposed to be unlimited. If you had apologized or kindly offered a reasonable alternative that would have deescalated the situation as well. Instead, you told us that the buffet was only meant to be enjoyed for 2 hours. If you want to rewrite the truth, that is your prerogative. No one from my family of elderly and special needs patrons threatened or harassed your staff. I apologize that the hotel created this situation and for their lack of respect of their guests. Perhaps the hotel will now learn that commenting not responding to guest feedback and treating guests like criminals is no way to run a business. Only time will tell, but to the Radnor, don't worry; I'll give you more than 2 hours. read more

This is really an average hotel. Rooms are small and the two full size beds barely fit with little walking room. Bathroom is tiny, with the shower right against the toilet. The door can barely open if you are in there. Chintzy coffee maker makes awful one styrofoam cup coffee. It's cleanish but nothing special. Great location and nice looking building but my room (179.00) looked out onto the parking lot. Free breakfast buffet is only free during weekdays and is $16.00 per person Saturday and Sunday. Don't pay for it, it's not worth it. For this price I will not stay here again. I might stay if room rate was under $100 but probably not. They say they have a great champagne brunch. I made reservations for the brunch and presented myself to the "hostess" . She was baffled because she couldn't find reservation. I stated again that I had reserved a table for champagne brunch. We were seated in a little booth in the back. No coffee was offered, no champagne either. Buffet was horrible overall. Nice watermelon and pineapple, no berries as described for brunch. Burnt bacon, awful sausages, scrambled eggs in a big chafing dish, potatoes, French toast. Stale 1/2 bagels, yogurt in a retail container. Small muffins. No desert no lunch items. At the end I asked waiter why there was no champagne? ( amongst other things) he said you couldn't get champagne here it was only for brunch participants. Come to find out we were sat with a bridal party and not in brunch . I got a check for $60. I said oh no let me talk to manager. She offered to comp one breakfast I told her no! It was horrible and we ate nothing. She said she would speak to the manager above her. He wouldn't come speak to me even though I had asked him on the floor for manager. She asked me to wait.... I had already stood in the restaurant for 30 minutes and would not wait. They said they would call .... I never received a call and still don't know if I've been charged. It was horrible and management could care less. I will not go here again . Couldn't recommend the brunch because I never got to go. read more

We had our baby twins Baptism Brunch here recently and the service was impeccable. Our family were all here from out of town and stayed at the hotel as well. My mother and father on law couldn't say enough about how well they were treated and my aunt and uncle both said they would stay here again when visiting us. The front desk didn't tell us that happy hour drinks were 50% off starting at 5pm. We went to the bar at 4:45 and there was no leeway on the discount. Service was ok, certainly not friendly. I will stay at Homewood Suites, Marriott, Hilton or Crowne Plaza next time I come to Ardmore and will happily pay more elsewhere just to be treated like a human being. Worst hotel experience ever. We went here for brunch today, based on good ratings and reviews I saw on the Web. I will not go here again, and was angry to have wasted $30 on the (hopefully) forgettable brunch buffet. Firstly, the large, un-cozy dining room is circa 1986--cheap and dated, with cheap tables and bingo-room chairs, and chintzy cheap chandeliers. All that would be acceptable if at least the food was good. Unfortunately the menu was as dated and un-fresh as the dining room. The dishes in the warming trays seemed like frozen dishes that had been reheated, overcooked pieces of meat swimming in sauces. The shrimp on the platter also seemed like it had been cooked, frozen, and then thawed for serving. Ditto for practically everything else. The quality of the food was poor, and the whole menu seemed like it hasn't changed since 1980. It's a shame, because just down the street are other places (Paramour, White Dog Cafe, etc. etc.) where we could have eaten for the same or less and had fresh, flavorful, modern dishes in a nicer setting. At least the free (part of the brunch price) mimosa wasn't bad, and helped wash down the bad food. read more

We also had good food in the bar. One thing that stood out to me at the wedding reception and cocktail party--they had a large number of staff, waitpersons and bartenders available serving food and helping the reception go smoothly. Lounge music was clearly audible, ice machine rumblings ever frequent, loud party-goers shouted in the stairwell and along the hall.
