This is what my Dad would call a "1st Class House". Spectacular views, spacious and well appointed rooms, a beautiful pool, friendly and helpful staff and incredible food. I will be back!

Best hotel I've ever stayed at. Staff was friendly everywhere we went. They offer welcome champagne and even cute tote bags as a welcome gift. We got upgraded to a better room with such an amazing view. The hotel has everything you need. Private access to a beach, good food/drinks, amazing views. You can fall asleep to the oceans that right outside. Didn't take advantage of their spa but next time I hope to explore that. Would definitely come back.

This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at! The views from the oceanfront rooms are out of this world. I appreciated how good all the food was. I didn't have a single bad food item! I wish the service had been a little better when using guest services to get items brought to the room but outside of that everything was amazing. Highly recommend this resort for a relaxing getaway and an oceanfront room on a higher floor is a must!

1st off been coming for 15 years , one of the best locations in so cal , even thou the upgrade to the buildings is great and was well needed especially the ac, the cost is insane, they gave us a generous food credit of 500.00 that got us room service 1 fish taco plate and 3 cheeseburgers, and next day kids pizza and 2 cheeseburgers two cokes and we went 3.00 over the credit of 500.00 that's insane! All the staff has changed except 1 pool server, front desk is brand brand brand new they were clueless about their own property, valet is new but excellent just like the old staff. Over all the hotel is beautiful but feels very corporate and has lost its feel trying to compete with all the other over priced hotels in the area. Think we are officially done with this summer tradition .

Love, love, love this place! The ambiance is fantastic with the water view downstairs in the bar area. You're right on the ocean. You can hear the water splashing on the beach. The food is magnificent. The service is exemplary. It's just a great place to hang out. The rooms have magnificent views. There's nothing bad I could say about this location--love, love, love Surf & Sand Resort and its restaurants.

What a beautiful remodel of this incredible landmark hotel in Laguna Beach. This property is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. Splashes the bar has a carefree beach elegant vibe! We ordered cocktails and the halibut tacos they were delicious! Flavorful, with mango salsa. On the bar menu. My suggestion is to order an extra chip order. This is a very beautiful but pricey restaurant. If a prime view of the ocean and elegance is your goal, this is it.. Enjoy the beautiful ocean views of Catalina and the waves there is nothing like this feel in Laguna

Location was amazing with great views of the beach. Our server was so kind and attentive. Although great location, the food was sub par for its prices (I paid 45 with no drink or app). My Halibut Tacos were described as fresh with a tang through the mango salsa but I was met with a chewy oily tortilla that overpowered any flavor the fish had to offer. The chips and salsa ratio was unbalanced as well as i ran out of salsa within the first two bites. Our server although attentive, was not very timely and forgetful as well. Our table had sent back a burger and both times it was served it was well done and not the medium rare as requested. A drink served far after our food was done and when I requested for more salsa for my chips they were simply taken away and the salsa never arrived! If you want a nice view with a cocktail this is the place but for the price I honestly would not dine here again.

What a gorgeous location! I've been looking forward to having dinner here and I'm glad I finally had the chance. If you enjoy seafood, I would most definitely recommend the Branzino. I would however love to recognize Alex, our server, who was so keen to every detail. I don't often frequent the same restaurant, but her service and friendliness will definitely bring me back!

I stayed at the hotel for a baby moon and it was the most memorable experience I've had in a long time. The staff was superb and went above and beyond to make it memorable! The views from the room were absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to visit again.

We had the most wonderful weekend in Laguna. Staff went out of their way to be extra friendly and accommodating. I was nervous for our first vacation with our 11 month old baby but I had nothing to worry about. The staff gave us a crib, a kettle for warming bottles, and smiled and laughed every time my baby made a huge mess for every meal at Splashes which was also so delicious. The automatic shade in the room darkened the room and my baby slept soundly even when it was sunny. Our king bed was so comfy. Get an oceanfront room and fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The staff set up beach chairs on our beach day with a smile and on pool day staff regularly freshened up our towels and cocktails. We were randomly surprised with free things all weekend, like cake, ice cream, chocolates, a beach bag, and even the musician at the terrace sang to my baby and gave him a toy. It was so special. Can't wait to go back!

Surf and Sand did an incredible job hosting my Cousin Helentina's Wedding this month at their divinely elegant resort!!! We definitely recommend Surf and Sand for a wedding venue because of the new and fresh magnificently luxurious Vibrations and lovely professionally courteous poise of the Staff. Surf and Sand helped make Helentina's Wedding such a powerfully moving and effortlessly easy Adventure for every Guest attending that evening! Valet Services assisted us in parking our Car upon arrival and Team Members welcomed us in enthusiastically and offered us beverages while we gathered inside to take Family Photos. The Ceremony took place on a gorgeous Balcony with a Phenomenally Romantic View of Laguna Beach and Cocktail Hour and Dinner Reception was so pleasantly enjoyable thanks to the wonderful Kitchen and Serving Staff! (Special Shout out to Bartenders Alejandro and Roberto for making our drinks with such focused and entertaining finesse, and Antonia for being an exceptionally sweet and engaging Server!) All the Hor Dourves were so yummy and carefully planned and executed for every Guest to have plenty while socially jamming after the Ceremony ;0) We loved the Poke Tacos, Bruschetta Bites, Mac and Cheese Balls, Sushi Bar, and glass flutes filled with Apple Cider and Champagne glasses to sink into an evening of endless fun and bonding with both sides of the bride and grooms families! The Bathrooms were pristine and well stocked and there was even a Pho Bar waiting for us on our way out set up beside warm and Romantic Fire Pits! We loved all the playfully cozy and upbeat Songs buzzing through the Resort from the live Musicians hired to perform in the Outdoor Patios to enhance the Mood for all the Guests staying at the Resort too. It's very clear that Surf and Sand was masterfully designed to give every Guest a Five Star Staycation experience and make Weddings as positively joyful and Romantically healing as possible!! Definitely consider booking them for your next Special Event or Weekend Getaway for a mindfully healing reset!!

I stay at The Surf & Sand every time I visit Laguna & have nothing but great things to say Great location, nice rooms, friendly staff & always have an amazing time at the beach & pool Shoutout to Hannah at the front desk. She has went above & beyond for me multiple times to get me the best room & always makes sure we're having a good time I recommend The Surf & Sand Resort if you're staying in Laguna Beach. Tough to beat it!

She explained all the hotel's amenities. In addition to the room charge, a $40 resort fee got us: 1. On-site parking; 2. Welcome sangrias; 3. Chocolate chip cookies each night; 4. A European styled breakfast each morning from 7am to 10am; 5. Wi-fi; 6. Beach chairs and umbrellas. Parking in Laguna Beach is a premium, so parking at the resort was great. The city of Laguna offers a free shuttle with a bus stop almost in front of the hotel. So we parked our car and took the shuttle all over town. The property is a well maintained, quant renovated 26 room Italian style resort. It's clean, charming, and has lots of character. It felt nice being at a small property and not at a large commercial hotel. We felt like we were back in Italy on vacation again! Just walking past the front of the hotel, you would not know that there is a luxury resort inside. They have a heated swimming pool (83 degrees), a sauna, and a secluded sun bathing lounge area and several other amenities. We opted for the heated wellness treatment which is a jacuzzi hot tub for two with mineral water. But they also offer single and couples messages and other message therapies. They have a quant internal courtyard for dining as well. We enjoyed a great European breakfast each day which was well prepared, fresh, healthy, and served by great hostesses. We especially liked the frittatas, fresh squeezed orange juice, hot coffee, and iced cold lemon water. The property is a historic landmark, so it doesn't offer handicap accessibility. So if you or someone in your group is in a wheel chair or uses a walker then this property won't work for you. Overall we really enjoyed staying here and would definitely go back again.

The service was excellent and can see that staff takes great care and attention to making sure everything is taken care of. We very much appreciated all the amenities this inn had to offer such as the welcome drink, evening cookies (delicious!), sauna, sunblock at the pool, towels, lovely breakfast.. all complimentary (breakfast with resort fee). We also appreciated the 10% military discount. We stayed in room 23 which was a standard queen bed with garden view and liked that spot because it felt central, private, and quiet. The room is on the smaller side but it was fine. It does not have a fridge but they provide an ice bucket. We ended up putting our bottled waters on top of the AC box and that kept it cool. Being that the inn is beautifully historic, there weren't many outlets inside the room. The bath robes were very plush. Both lamp shade knobs didn't seem to turn properly but we made it work somehow. Otherwise, we felt well taken care of throughout our stay and so glad we came. Aside from the inn, there is a walk to get to Victoria Beach. We walked south along Coast Highway to Victoria Place and found the underpass from there. We also took the free trolley outside of the hotel to get around town. It could be quite a wait for the trolley as we waited 30 mins. There is a QR code on the sign to track the trolley locations.

I researched every hotel I could find that was within walking distance to the beach in Laguna. I was not sure what to expect since reviews were a little inconsistent. I was very impressed by the ambiance of this hotel! It's gorgeous! It's warm, tropical and beachy. Very unlike a chain hotel. There were a lot of beautiful details that made the hotel unique. The bed was very comfortable too. Our room had direct access to the pool and that was a nice feature. Other reviews mention the high cost, I agree, it was costly with additional fees. However it's not an economy hotel. It's directly on the beach and I expected to pay a premium rate because of that. A welcome note and fruit were left in the room upon arrival. The staff were great, Sam checked us in and he was very sweet. There was another young man with long hair that was also very kind (I didn't get his name, he gave great direction on some local shopping). Cons - Our room was not serviced for our 2 night stay. We removed our dnd sign from 11-3 and no one came. For $600 a night this is wild to me that our mats were still wet and no coffee refilled, I didn't see the cleaning staff once throughout our stay. - There is no true restaurant at this hotel. Bites and drinks but no substantial meals. Wasn't surprising to see takeout bags all throughout the halls. - As others stated $75 a night parking fee is wild but you can take your car out as much as you like since there is no Valet - zero amenities in the room -- you have to pay for toothbrush, no water bottles or even carafes of water. Overall the staff, outside of the lovely check in woman were essentially non existent. No cleaners, and even in the morning there were 2 men but they didn't greet or acknowledge anyone. Again for $300 it would be fine and expected but for $600 and on some days even $1K a night on the 4th of July this is wildly overpriced for what you get.

What is provided? A sad collection of cheap, warped plastic utensils. To top it off, the sink is partially blocked, there is some black mold on the ceiling, and there's peeling paint on the walls. The remote for the sound system doesn't work, and the rugs are filthy. It's shocking to encounter this level of neglect at this premium price point. The saving graces are the truly spectacular view of the beach, and easy beach access during low tide. Beds are comfortable enough. Overall, certainly underwhelming for the price point, but despite not meeting our expectations we enjoyed our stay. With just a little more effort this place could really shine.
