Spiders... Spiders and more spiders!! This is the spot if your looking for a small unkept infested with spiders hotel. I paid good money for a hotel that the sink was not even attached!! There is no parking onsite so there is no ADA. There is a side drop off they use and then parking is down the street in a lot that is first come first serve. I can't imagine eating at this place and the bar on the roof closes early. really dissapointing I was moved to another room at my request after the clerk had to come to the room to get a spider over my door after there was two in my bed...and still more spiders!!! I had to leave and never was compensated in any way!!! after numerous calls to management.. Don't waste your money on this place!!!

We love Laguna Beach but this hotel is disappointing. They call our room a suite but putting a twin bed & a full bed in a shabby room decorated like a 12 year olds nautical theme bedroom doesn't make it a suite. The AC is a loud portable machine, the bed is uncomfortable (pillows are good), lighting dim (including in the funky dated bathroom), furniture is tacky & dinged up. Neighbors played loud music late & we had to get up & ask front desk to address it. You can hear loud noises from the rooftop deck. Parking is down the street in an open lot & you have to drag your luggage back & forth through the intersection- the drop off spot seems consistently full & they don't have luggage carts. No coffee pots or other amenities in the room. Thin scratchy towels. You can walk to restaurants & the village which is nice. The lobby is spacious & has a fireplace which is nice.

It was one of the best Valentine's Day/Anniversary meals that my wife and I have had in our 39 years of marriage. Giant shrimp cocktail, crispy calamari, ahi poke tacos and Korean short ribs were amazing! Every dish was just fabulous. Jim, the general manager greeted us and guided us upstairs to the rooftop restaurant/bar, which was a very happening place. The views are outstanding and the service was impeccable with the best cocktails menu. The vibe was great. We ended up with the most delicious long, stemmed chocolate covered strawberries. The attention to details in the preparation of the food and drink was perfect and we would highly recommend this place for any occasion. We will definitely be coming back time after time!

    Short walking distance from beach.

Great experience! The young girl with curly hair (sorry i forgot your name) but she was SO nice and accommodating, went over and beyond for us. Place has so much history, it's old but clean and staff is very friendly. Will definitely go back.

We weren't staying here @ the quaint La Casa Del Camino but one of my sponsors who helps out with my Pageant endeavors was so we decided to meet for some appetizers & cocktail hour(s) to discuss branding & the up coming pageant festivities. I decided that I would share with them today's photo shoot we did for fun to get their input & I was actually waiting to hear something totally different than the responses I did receive although they still felt it wasn't right for my brand but it made me hold my head higher and y'all I too have insecurities so some of them questions I would have about myself actually were answered today. This Rooftop lounge has beautiful scenery and the staff are fun engaging personable & are very knowledgeable about their menu. I highly recommend that if you want a staycation come check in I guarantee you won't want to check out !

This charming, older hotel is in the perfect location in Laguna Beach! We booked a queen-sized room; it is definitely small. The room has one small nightstand, the bed, a small desk along one wall and a little armoire. There is a TV on the "far" wall, with a small fridge which was a nice bonus. The bathroom was super tiny. Under the sink, there was a small cabinet that housed a blow dryer; you could put some belongings there as there is zero room for anything in the bathroom, except for maybe a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste. If you stood up from the toilet, you were right at the sink. The tub shower ran along the length of the toilet and sink. One thing that was a little frustrating was you cannot fully open up the bathroom door because it hit the furniture that housed the fridge. There was an AC /fan unit on the floor that worked pretty decently. Thank goodness, because we had it on the whole time to help drown out the sounds of the people above us. The floors were a little thin, and we were on the bottom floor. The place is just steps from a stairway down to the beach (a rocky beach, but there's still a bench for sitting and great views for the sunset.). The lobby is super cute, And a lot of people would sit there and drink coffee, tea or read. You can buy small things in the lobby, or head up to the rooftop bar, which has amazing views (and gets packed by visitors and locals, so make a reservation!), and while they were there, they were having a soft opening for the bistro that they're opening right off the lobby. There is only a curbside to park out while you check in and unload. Parking is free, but is across the street, about a two minute walk. The lot is super tight though; glad we brought our smaller car. I felt that the communication was where this place shines! Everybody was pleasant to work with, and so helpful. They communicated throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well! They had chairs and towels that we could use for the beach (know they are more of a camping style chair, not a beach chair, but still it was one less thing we had to pack). Many places to eat and shop are just a few minutes walk away. Or jump in the car and head down to Main Beach. I like that they are continuing to make this place better!

The parking pass I paid for.

You want to walk whenever possible because parking is a bit stressful and walking allows you to enjoy all that Laguna Beach has to offer. One of my favorite things about the room was being able to open the windows and sliding door to the beautiful ocean breeze. It's the best! (We couldn't do that for a portion of our stay because a couple of the neighbors continued to smoke. Not the hotel's fault because it is non-smoking but we were bummed that we kept smelling it in our room.) The room was nice, quaint and clean in general. For the price per night, I would say it might be due for some up keep just from normal wear and tear, such as new pillows and things like that. It wasn't super fancy or anything but the location of it offered beautiful views! The hotel and staff are lovely overall. We would genuinely stay here again.

The service was excellent and can see that staff takes great care and attention to making sure everything is taken care of. We very much appreciated all the amenities this inn had to offer such as the welcome drink, evening cookies (delicious!), sauna, sunblock at the pool, towels, lovely breakfast.. all complimentary (breakfast with resort fee). We also appreciated the 10% military discount. We stayed in room 23 which was a standard queen bed with garden view and liked that spot because it felt central, private, and quiet. The room is on the smaller side but it was fine. It does not have a fridge but they provide an ice bucket. We ended up putting our bottled waters on top of the AC box and that kept it cool. Being that the inn is beautifully historic, there weren't many outlets inside the room. The bath robes were very plush. Both lamp shade knobs didn't seem to turn properly but we made it work somehow. Otherwise, we felt well taken care of throughout our stay and so glad we came. Aside from the inn, there is a walk to get to Victoria Beach. We walked south along Coast Highway to Victoria Place and found the underpass from there. We also took the free trolley outside of the hotel to get around town. It could be quite a wait for the trolley as we waited 30 mins. There is a QR code on the sign to track the trolley locations.

I researched every hotel I could find that was within walking distance to the beach in Laguna. I was not sure what to expect since reviews were a little inconsistent. I was very impressed by the ambiance of this hotel! It's gorgeous! It's warm, tropical and beachy. Very unlike a chain hotel. There were a lot of beautiful details that made the hotel unique. The bed was very comfortable too. Our room had direct access to the pool and that was a nice feature. Other reviews mention the high cost, I agree, it was costly with additional fees. However it's not an economy hotel. It's directly on the beach and I expected to pay a premium rate because of that. A welcome note and fruit were left in the room upon arrival. The staff were great, Sam checked us in and he was very sweet. Cons - Our room was not serviced for our 2 night stay. We removed our dnd sign from 11-3 and no one came. For $600 a night this is wild to me that our mats were still wet and no coffee refilled, I didn't see the cleaning staff once throughout our stay. - There is no true restaurant at this hotel. Bites and drinks but no substantial meals. Wasn't surprising to see takeout bags all throughout the halls. - As others stated $75 a night parking fee is wild but you can take your car out as much as you like since there is no Valet - zero amenities in the room -- you have to pay for toothbrush, no water bottles or even carafes of water. Overall the staff, outside of the lovely check in woman were essentially non existent. No cleaners, and even in the morning there were 2 men but they didn't greet or acknowledge anyone. Again for $300 it would be fine and expected but for $600 and on some days even $1K a night on the 4th of July this is wildly overpriced for what you get.

She was efficient but less than welcoming during the check-in process. Unfortunately, I had to interact with this woman two more times during my stay and each interaction was equally unpleasant. My goal in staying at The Tides was to destress but she made me feel like "Bad Dog".
