I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. During my stay, my vehicle was damaged while parked in the hotel's parking lot. When I reported the incident, I expected at least a professional investigation and clear communication. Unfortunately, neither was provided. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication from hotel management. I had to follow up seven separate times before receiving any meaningful response regarding my claim. Even then, the information I received was inconsistent and contradictory. One hotel associate told me that security cameras were being reviewed, while another later informed me that there are no cameras in the parking lot at all. This lack of coordination and transparency made an already stressful situation even worse. When the hotel finally responded, they pointed to a limited liability disclaimer allegedly printed on the parking placard. However, the placard I was given was already torn when I received it, and I was never asked to read, acknowledge, or sign anything related to parking liability. Using a damaged placard as evidence that guests were properly informed feels misleading and raises serious concerns about how these policies are communicated. While I understand that hotels may have policies limiting liability, I expected better security measures, more professional communication, and a genuine effort to assist a guest whose property was damaged on-site. Instead, I encountered delays, conflicting information, and a complete lack of accountability. Based on this experience, I would strongly encourage future guests to exercise caution when parking here and to carefully document the condition of their vehicle and any parking materials they receive. I was very disappointed with my stay. The location was great....just steps from the ocean....which was honestly the only highlight. Thankfully, this was just a staycation to celebrate my birthday, because I don't think I could have tolerated more than one night here. The room was extremely small, to the point where it felt more like camping than staying in a hotel. The air conditioning wasn't working, so I had to sleep with the window open just to stay cool. On top of that, the sink faucet leaked water onto the counter and floor, creating a mess, and the shower pressure was so low that washing my hair properly wasn't even possible. Steve our server was awesome and very attentive and charismatic. And the mojitos were spot on. Was on a business meeting with person from Kansas and she loved the service, view and drinks. Up until a Karen showed up demanding to seat by the rail to have an ocean view table and Steve was Super Nice and apologetic advise them that they couldn't change tables because they were reserved. Even though she thru insults Steve kept his cool and was still very apologetic but Karen her new name was not having it. So this place is from 1927, it's charming and has a ton of Spanish character. The staff was nice. It just needs some tlc. The windows didn't work right, the a/c was a massive unit in the middle of the floor, bed was uncomfortable, hot water heater broke, hallway smelled bad. Also, $30 resort fee per night, I never figured out what that was for since there was no pool area or workout room or any lounge area. Rooftop bar was nice. read more

This unfortunately was a very disappointing experience. The hotel over the weekend was $400 a night. Although the people that worked there were excellent. The room was something you would expect at $100.a night 1) The rug in the room was filthy 2) The reading light over the bed did not work and " couldn't be immediately fixed". 3) The overhead light in the bathroom did not work. 4) There was no hot water for over 24 hours 5) Not one shelve in the bath room 6 Windows did not open except for the bathroom which had no screen. There is no parking onsite so there is no ADA. There is a side drop off they use and then parking is down the street in a lot that is first come first serve. I can't imagine eating at this place and the bar on the roof closes early. really dissapointing I was moved to another room at my request after the clerk had to come to the room to get a spider over my door after there was two in my bed...and still more spiders!!! My husband and I have shared some beautiful sunny weekends here, enjoying meeting great people, fantastic service, and unique experiences like the Rooftop Lounge. All the people are so kind. Watching the sunset over Laguna Beach with great food and drinks is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. The Patron Margarita tree was so fun at an unbeatable price - four margs served in Patron bottles displayed on a gold tree - perfect for sharing and trying different yummy flavors! The K'ya restaurant is also exceptional. I had a delicious pear martini and we shared yummy appetizers. You truly cannot go wrong with La Casa dining. We are so grateful for the relaxing and vibrant atmosphere, along with the excellent service the hotel provides. The location is perfect - just steps from the beach, cute stores, coffee shops, and many restaurants, making every walk around the area exciting. La Casa Del Camino combines lovely people, a gorgeous atmosphere, exceptional service, delicious food, and one of the best rooftop sunset experiences in Laguna Beach. We love Laguna Beach but this hotel is disappointing. They call our room a suite but putting a twin bed & a full bed in a shabby room decorated like a 12 year olds nautical theme bedroom doesn't make it a suite. The AC is a loud portable machine, the bed is uncomfortable (pillows are good), lighting dim (including in the funky dated bathroom), furniture is tacky & dinged up. Neighbors played loud music late & we had to get up & ask front desk to address it. You can hear loud noises from the rooftop deck. Parking is down the street in an open lot & you have to drag your luggage back & forth through the intersection- the drop off spot seems consistently full & they don't have luggage carts. No coffee pots or other amenities in the room. Thin scratchy towels. You can walk to restaurants & the village which is nice. The lobby is spacious & has a fireplace which is nice. read more

It was one of the best Valentine's Day/Anniversary meals that my wife and I have had in our 39 years of marriage. Giant shrimp cocktail, crispy calamari, ahi poke tacos and Korean short ribs were amazing! Every dish was just fabulous. Jim, the general manager greeted us and guided us upstairs to the rooftop restaurant/bar, which was a very happening place. The views are outstanding and the service was impeccable with the best cocktails menu. The vibe was great. We ended up with the most delicious long, stemmed chocolate covered strawberries. We just had a great long holiday weekend at La Casa Del Camino.  It's got the California beach vibe we wanted in an authentic historic building on the main road thru Laguna Beach.  Conveniently located just outside the busy main beach area, so it's more relaxing and literally steps from the beach.  Plenty of coffee shops, shopping and restaurants in either direction.  The staff was friendly (shout-out to Rachel & Kayla) and the rooftop restaurant has amazing views and a great selection of food & drinks.  Loved hearing the waves, smelling the sea salt and watching the sunsets.  Can't get back soon enough. read more

The room was small, dark, and had absolutely no view whatsoever--definitely not what you imagine when booking a place in Laguna. This charming, older hotel is in the perfect location in Laguna Beach! We booked a queen-sized room; it is definitely small. The room has one small nightstand, the bed, a small desk along one wall and a little armoire. There is a TV on the "far" wall, with a small fridge which was a nice bonus. The bathroom was super tiny. Under the sink, there was a small cabinet that housed a blow dryer; you could put some belongings there as there is zero room for anything in the bathroom, except for maybe a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste. If you stood up from the toilet, you were right at the sink. The tub shower ran along the length of the toilet and sink. One thing that was a little frustrating was you cannot fully open up the bathroom door because it hit the furniture that housed the fridge. There was an AC /fan unit on the floor that worked pretty decently. Thank goodness, because we had it on the whole time to help drown out the sounds of the people above us. The floors were a little thin, and we were on the bottom floor. The place is just steps from a stairway down to the beach (a rocky beach, but there's still a bench for sitting and great views for the sunset.). The lobby is super cute, And a lot of people would sit there and drink coffee, tea or read. You can buy small things in the lobby, or head up to the rooftop bar, which has amazing views (and gets packed by visitors and locals, so make a reservation!), and while they were there, they were having a soft opening for the bistro that they're opening right off the lobby. There is only a curbside to park out while you check in and unload. Parking is free, but is across the street, about a two minute walk. The lot is super tight though; glad we brought our smaller car. I felt that the communication was where this place shines! Everybody was pleasant to work with, and so helpful. They communicated throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well! They had chairs and towels that we could use for the beach (know they are more of a camping style chair, not a beach chair, but still it was one less thing we had to pack). Many places to eat and shop are just a few minutes walk away. Or jump in the car and head down to Main Beach. I like that they are continuing to make this place better! read more

My wife and I checked into the hotel two weeks ago to attend Pageant of the Masters. As soon as we walked in my wife found the bathroom floor covered in water because the bathroom curtain rod was bent. Apparently the cleaning staff had either not bothered to walk into the bathroom or just didn't care to clean it up. The bathroom sink also did not drain very well. Not a great start, but we cleaned up the water and went about our day. When we returned from the Pageant I went upstairs to ask for another blanket. The man behind the desk said he would bring a blanket right down. A half hour later I walked back up and was told that he had forgotten about me and then went to get the blanket. Even with all of that, we were just going to let it go until the following happened. We paid for parking and I was told to go across the street and park in the parking lot. I did just as I was told and parked in that lot, putting the parking pass on my rearview mirror facing outwards. Even though we paid for parking and did what was asked, I still found a bright green warning sticker on one of my windows because the manager didn't bother to look for the parking pass and thought I wasn't supposed to be there. These green stickers are designed to not be easily removeable. At this point I was understandably upset and went back to the hotel and ask the woman behind the desk for something to remove the sticker, only to be told that she has no way to take it off. The manager put the sticker on the driver side passenger window, so it was blocking my ability to see cars in my blind spot, making it dangerous to drive home and find something to get the sticker off. The woman behind the desk did give me the manager's email and I immediately sent him an email when I got home. It has been two weeks and he still has not responded to me with even so much as an apology for our experience there. I will never go back to this hotel and will never recommend it to anyone I know. There aren't many hotels that I would give only 1 star to, but this experience has made this hotel one of them. read more

My wife and I stayed at La Casa Del Camino for our SoCal honeymoon and had the most incredible experience! The staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were warm, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Before arriving, I called ahead to arrange roses, chocolates, coconut water, and a few of my wife's "favorite things" to be in the room as a surprise for her. They had everything set up beautifully! It was such a sweet, personal touch and made our stay feel instantly special and romantic. The updated rooms were comfortable and stylish, the ocean view was STUNNING (especially being from WI!), and being right on the water with walkable access to Laguna's shops, restaurants, and beaches was unbeatable. We also loved the 24-hour coffee and tea station, such a thoughtful amenity for tea lovers like us! Unfortunately it rained during our stay but we made it a point to come back a different day for the Rooftop restaurant. I was surprised to see how many locals were there, enjoying the same view we traveled 2000 miles for. Once the food and drinks came out, we instantly understood the hotspot hype. They also have a rockin' happy hour- be sure to catch a sunset while you're up there!! Between the service, location, views, and attention to detail, La Casa Del Camino was the perfect place to celebrate our honeymoon. We'll absolutely be back again and again. We love to come escape from reality over at La Casa Del Camino. I've stayed here once before and that's why we felt to come back and enjoy again. It's nice to have the customer service part through the text messages to communicate any questions or concerns that will be answered in timely manner. The beach is right outside your room window and it's wonderful to hear the waves crash all night long. Lots of history and shops to check out right out the front door. The rooftop restaurant is pleasant and provides a good quality of food and service. Lots of places nowadays give minimal attention to detail because of the views. Staff is friendly and welcoming which should be a standard not a plus. Hospitality is key and running a hotel is very important to touch all areas and I believe they did. Some people can't afford to do much and when they get that opportunity it should be worth every penny. Always room for improvements with that said.... Thank you for taking care of my family and I. It's been over a month of contacting multiple people at the hotel just to reserve the meeting room for the morning of my wedding. I've been calling and emailing and they just refuse to help me. I have multiple rooms booked at this hotel for my guests for 2 nights and I'm considering having them cancel these reservations because the communication is so poor. They don't seem to care about getting any business. If a manager can contact me back, that would be great. This was a last minute wkend getaway with my hubby. It's one of the nicest experiences I've had considering it was done out on a whim. Lol! Anyway, check in was easy. The people were friendly and not snobbish at all! They seemed down to earth and easy to talk to. The roof top bar was packed at dinner but, we found seating in the bar where we started drinks! The wait time was fast and as I am an observant kind of person, I noticed this one gentleman that was working hard to clear tables and my husband even spoke to him for me, and thanked him for doing such a great job! After dinner and drinks, we walked to get gelato and chocolates. We came back and decided to go back up to the bar. They were so nice, that even at closing, they still served us! It was a beautiful night under the stars. Parking was across the street which made it easy breezy! We'd definitely go back again. I can't say anything bad about this place. The charm and Spanish style somewhat reminded me of a stay in Italy. It did get a little loud at times and perhaps there may have been some spirits around or electrical short circuits, whichever way you see it, as our TV turned off and on by itself. If there were the option on Yelp of giving negative stars, i would give this terrible place five negative stars. it would take me an entire afternoon to scribe all my thoughts herein about why travelers should never consider this place. the pictures are very misleading. our room was next to the kitchen and employee restrooms, no view, noisy all night, every door and footstep is heard throughout the night. the owners should be nailed for false advertising. the free breakfast did not include breakfast at all. it was some crackers and tea. no, seriously. customer service does not exist. sometimes it does not matter that you are cool and kind to others, there are places in the world where you still get ripped off and taken advantage of. this place will make your life worse. stay away. read more

The LOUDEST hotel I've ever stayed at. Maybe I just got unlucky with my room assignment (room 211 avoid at all costs) it's right under the stairs so all day/night you hear people trampling up and down the stairs. I woke up multiple times in the night just to sounds of neighbors conversations, flushing toilets and even a couple being intimate (that was awkward), seriously the walls are paper thin and the tall ceilings in the room almost amplify outside noises. Also I booked the "casa surf room" thinking it would have ocean view, and the pictures on website showed ocean view but I looked out at the wall of another part of the building (again, avoid room 211). Small nitpicks: no bedside lamp so if you want to read you have to get up and turn off/on the overhead lights, tho the room lights are pretty I'll give them that. Parking is a block and a half away and the room only has an AC unit no heat, so on chilly days like when I was there, I was bundled up. 2 stats for location, right on the beach, and they were accommodating with early check in. Otherwise, so not worth the obscene amount of money I paid. read more

We love this place. We've been here many times. They recently upgraded the tables and chairs which was really needed. This time we came at 1pm on a Monday. There was no one there. (It's always completely packed on the weekend.) Do you see all the empty tables behind us? The waitress/hostess asked us - very severely - if we had reservations and we said no. She put us at the worst table with no umbrella. I got very sunburned. We stayed for a long time and had a wonderful meal and even stayed for dessert and coffee. We ate every bite. At the beginning my lover spilled his water because the table jiggled. The busboy was so friendly and helpful, immediately fixing our table to be more stable with a shim and cleaning up the mess without us asking and bringing us fresh napkins. I took these photos at the end of our meal and still no more customers had come to fill up all the empty tables. Their happy hour starts at 2pm and we left at 2:30, leaving a nice tip even though our waitress shorted us a dollar in change because she couldn't figure out cash. This hotel is so charming and the location is IDEAL. Everything we could hope to enjoy is within walking distance: the beach is steps away, lovely shops and great restaurants surround ... but you need only go upstairs to just about the single best rooftop spot in Laguna for sunset splendor and delicious food (the meatballs and steak skewers are outstanding)! Even church was just up the hill for a nice stroll to mass overlooking the ocean. Nighttime on the rooftop and then down to our room was magical with the lights on the hill in one direction and a silvery moon shining on the water outside our window. We stayed here Thanksgiving weekend 2023. We arrived early and were able to get an earlier check in than 4pm just not the ocean view room that was reserved for us. The room we took was as pictured on their website, small and Spanish decor. My review is on everything except the room as beggar's can't be choosers, right? LCDC was clean, well located for beach access, restaurants and shops. Free parking across the street with reservation parking permit and pet friendly. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Dining rooftop was spot on! The staff, the food & drinks were perfect! The view was spectacular too especially the sunset. read more
