If you're looking for an activity to do in FWB, check out axe throwing. The place offered a fun environment to pass an hour. I would rate it higher, however when we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation (we did). We were then shoed to the side as the staff explained how to use the axes to other groups. During this time, another group arrived. They were assisted before we were even though we had filled out the forms and asked to wait. The other group that walked in after us got to pick their lane, which means we were left with the lane right at the entry of the building (all of the other lanes are in a separate room with music playing). When I asked the staff member if we could go to the back, he snapped that we were walk ins and had to take whatever lane they had. Um, ok?! We weren't walk-ins and in fact had arrived before the other group. After we were situated, the staff was super friendly in helping us learn how to throw. The wooden boards looked like they had seen better days and the axes barely stuck to them. It's BYOB, which is cool. The overall decor/layout seems kind of just thrown together. The place appears really make-shift... perhaps b/c they are new, but it just doesn't seem like the place is finished being built out yet. All in all, I am glad that I went and tried it. Probably the most hospitable and friendliest places in FWB. If you're looking for a great time with an incredible vibe, u have to stop by...and they let u throw axes. I had a good time. It's your typical axe throwing place.. That's not a negative comment! Took the family and we all had a good time. I did enjoy throwing the Chinese stars the Batman blade that was very different from the other place I have gone to. It's worth checking out and going to. read more

If you're looking for something fun to do with sharp objects, then this is the place for you. We went to Ratchet Hatchet for the first time the other day and had a blast throwing axes and throwing stars. The instructor, JC, was very helpful and informative. We were literally walking by and some guy asked us to try axe throwing. So we went out of curiosity. The guy who told us to try it is Carlos and he is actually so great. We had so so much fun. My 8 year old son loved it. We never experienced to have this much FUN!!! Carlos was awesome and he was a great instructor. Carlos taught my son how to throw it stayed with him for a long time so that my child could learn. Amazing experience and great fun!!! Highly recommend this place. This place is awesome and so is the staff who is willing to aide in helping those who are new to the sport. It's also a great way to get some exercise and frustrations out, too. Just go and enjoy yourself, let it be an adventure date, you'll be glad you did. My husband and I went for an hour on a Friday night. Staff were welcoming, helpful and willing to help out and introduce different games if your into keeping score. I didn't think I'd like the games but it actually helped me focus and stick the hatchet. Also they have a bunch of other throwing things, circles, stars, Batman shapes and little hatchets, which probably have real names that I have no clue about. Bottom line, friendly, welcoming and fun, just go! read more

I love the idea of this place and was excited to try it. The hatchets are not very sharp (I.E. even if you wanted you couldn't cut yourself) and have difficulty sticking into the wood. The handles fell off several times which was frustrating. I would still recommend coming here at least once and feeling it out. They are working on a bar as well which will make it a better place. Wanted to do something fun with my lady friends but it's cold and windy right now in the FL Panhandle. Found this at a great rate on TripShock and booked it! Called and reserved a time with Gonzo, super easy! We went to downtown Ft Walton and parking was FREE and had a great dinner at one of the local places literally across the street. Then walked over and got some great instruction from Gonzo and Hector on how to throw, how to stand, etc. SO MUCH FUN! This was a blast. We should have totally booked 2 hours or more. You can bring drinks in with you and it's climate controlled and had great music playing... just seriously the best night out. Affordable AND we didn't have to drive all the way to Destin.
