I give it 5 stars for ambiance and friendliness. Everything is new and clean. Its The kind of place you would like to hang out for long periods of time. Unfortunately I have to give it 2 1/2 stars for the food and drink. The drip coffee I ordered was lukewarm at best. The drink my wife ordered did not have the option of putting soy in it, which is her favorite add in. The Panini sandwich I ordered had a very odd taste. I was really looking forward to trying this little place. With that I was slightly disappointed in their coffee and waffle. I'm a coffee lover and this had a bitter taste to it, I ended up throwing it out. The waffle left a lot to be desired and wasn't cooked all the way through and that was also disappointing. The concept is adorable and the staff was very friendly, but sadly it just didn't work for me. The Red Bird coffee cart had me having VERY mixed feelings on different areas. I was at a school function and they had this cart outside. I thought what the hay! Let me try this! I ordered a waffle with strawberries and a mocha frappe. Im not sure if they were overwhelmed but they were confused on what orders went to who quite often. Also, I waited about 30 minutes to get my waffle. People in line were getting frustrated waiting so long. I tried to think about the fruits of the spirit and how patience was one of them so I was practicing really hard. Patience is a work in progress in long waits like this. I got my mocha frappe first about 15 minutes after I put the order in. The ice in the frappe was still very crunchy. The ice definitely needed to be crushed better to actually be a proper frappe. They may have been in a hurry and didn't put it through the blender long enough but honestly if THAT was the excuse then I'd say that it wasn't a good enough reason to not make the drink properly. If they are reading this.. PLEASE make your frappes with better crushed ice. It did taste good other than the crunchy ice. The waffle was SO GOOD! I mean, the best Ive ever had. I would easily give it a 5 star. The strawberries were delicious on top. I originally asked for whip cream on my waffle with the strawberries but they said that there was some kind of allergy so they couldn't do nutella, whip cream and some other toppings. Im not sure if they were saying a child at the school had a allergy or what but I think maybe that was what they were telling me on why they couldn't give me all of the normal toppings. If I was rating the waffles alone... definitely 5 star! The wait, organization, mocha... I'd give it a 3 star. Thats why Im going to just average it and give this place a 4 star. I have never written a bad review on Yelp, but constructive criticism is necessary in this circumstance. Red Bird Coffee Cart came to my workplace, and the two girls working the cart seemed sweet but they definitely need to work on their system. Most of my coworkers waited between 30 mins - 1 hour for a drink. The person taking the order would just add the cup to a long line overflowing on the counter. The other poor girl was making all of the drinks at a rather slow pace. Would be much more helpful and efficient for the girl taking orders to chip in by filling and serving plain drip coffee as ordered, rather than adding those drinks to the very back of the line. I think they've taken on more than they can handle with the waffles and so many drink options, or they just need to hire more help. Additionally, they were not prepared for a business of our size, having run out of espresso before the last group went out to place orders. They just seem very young and inexperienced and need to implement a better system or better methods for service. I do not feel I am being too critical in my review, as we have had coffee carts and food trucks cater my work before and they managed far better than Red Bird Coffee has. To end my tale, by the time they called my name, my drink order was not written on my cup so they had to ask again what I ordered. My cup was jumbled up in the mix again and someone who was behind me in line still ended up with their drink before I did. I do like the name of their business and the decor in the trailer is cute, and we do need coffee trucks in OKC! Definitely though, there is room for improvement. read more
