I liked my experience here! The music and ambiance were really nice. It felt casually refreshing inside. They might benefit from a small water fountain. The place is a bit expensive, like everywhere these days. Service was attentive and kind. I wish they had some low cost specials and some kind of check in deal for reviewers. We are moving to Woodland Hills and decided to check out the neighborhood. Oh boy, how we were surprised! The chicken sandwich was one of the best vegan chicken sandwiches I have tried! I went back and had another one! The spicy peppers that come with the sandwich are delicious, and I am not usually a person who likes spicy food! The whole menu is amazing, and I cannot wait to come back and try more. The staff and the owner are so friendly and welcoming. Definitely a great place to have in my new neighborhood. Can't wait to try all the other options they have. Also, they have their own pre-made meals they are selling; I will definitely be trying some. I am so sad to report that Othello's appears to be permanently closed! Shades are down and all the tables, chairs and decor are gone! I loved this place and the owner, Norm was a kind and caring guy. Othello's was awesome! I went on a weekend at lunchtime. It was decorated so cute inside! We were greeted and offered samples! I can't remember the last time I've seen samples anywhere so we were excited - we got to try the chili and the bolognese, both of which were amazing! I knew I wanted the spicy chicken sandwich though so I got that and my brother ended up gettin the chili pasta. We got our order to go and didn't have to wait long. First I have to apologize for the lateness of this review - I was there last week Saturday on my way home from the beach... The restaurant is adorable and ultra clean. There is plenty of parking and seating inside. When I entered I was greeted right away and the service was helpful and welcoming. I ordered the Homemade Bean Burger on a pretzel bun, and it was incredible. The patty was full of flavor with a perfect texture, and once I added their homemade Hickey Smoke BBQ sauce--it took the whole burger to the next level. Highly recommend! It just feels like they spoke to an investment consultant, and the consultant ask; "Have you thought about going into the Vegan food business?" ...And you have this place. That's jus the vibe it gives me. The person at register was perfect, yet the interior was a bit lacking any reality. A poster with maybe a missing word in the text ("good vibes", or something?). The rest was pretty generic, it just didn't say "take a seat, or Welcome", Enjoy...even though some signs were asking to do so. FOOD: My sandwich was OK. I think they used some good bun, may have been some pretzel or some briouche bun nice and toasted, the vegan chicken was just OK, and what ever else with it was OK as well. Fries were decent as any other frozen fries, but a bit better than others, so that was good. Sauce was also good. I dont know what it was missing? Love? energy? It was on the dry side. So excited there's a new plant based spot in the Valley! There are a lot of options on their menu so I'm excited to go back and try more but this time I got the cheeseburger and I kept seeing reviews talk about the loaded fries so I had to partake. The food was DELICIOUS. Absolutely impeccable flavor. I was really blown away. The loaded fries are definitely big enough to share - so excited for my leftovers!! I ordered take out and was home and eating in about 20 minutes & my food was still hot :) It was $32 for my fries and burger which is on the higher end for a fast casual place but the food was very good and life is just expensive now. Othello's is CLEAN. Like spotless. Quite possibly the cleanest restaurant I've been to in LA. And so beautifully decorated! Service was also lovely. The staff member that took my order was very helpful and shared her recommendations which I gladly took. There's a free parking lot and I was able to find a spot right out front. Had a wonderful meal here! I came in the afternoon on Sunday thinking I was after the brunch/lunch rush but to my surprise the restaurant was crowded. The service was great and helpful. I ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich. It took a little while for it to come out and the employee was very apologetic for the wait. It seemed the kitchen was overwhelmed with a large order. The sandwich was very tasty and I loved the texture of the jackfruit and flavors of the sauce. It was on the pricier side for casual food but still worth the price for the quality. The atmosphere of the restaurant was bright and comfy and it was very clean and enjoyable to eat at. I also loved the fruit infused water.
