We drove past this "Hidden Gem" steak house while cruising up to Lake Arrowhead & Big Bear Lake during the Thanksgiving week. The food is phenomenal and the prices are even better. We ordered the house special prime rib, rack of lambs, porterhouse & baked brie which were hands down one of the most delicious in our life time. My wife & I just found our secret hide out to dine in forever. The ambiance inside is filled with rustic joy and happiness. Amanda & Charles are so wonderful and always being very attentive to us. Here are the photos. Ciao Bella!~

The ambiance was nice. The place is clean and the staff are very nice. Our waitress was very friendly and sweet. For my birthday I chose the brownie sunday and our waitress and the manager or owner sang Happy Birthday to me. It's a locals place. It's was a good birthday dinner! Thank you!!

We are back again. Great food and the best steak in town. Wonderful service. We had a great time !!!

My appetizer platter at Ye Old Lamplighter.

I stopped in here on Thursday expecting a nice quiet dinner. Unbeknownst to me it was karaoke night. So it was a little bit loud, but people were having a great time and enjoying the karaoke and getting up to sing good for them. I know the place had changed hands and they seem to fix things up very nicely. The restaurant is well attended and nicely decorated. I've had steaks here before and they've always been good. This time. I opted for the appetizer platter. It had chicken nuggets, onion rings, fried zucchini , shrimp, and mozzarella sticks. I enjoyed it very much. The service was very good even though the place was packed and there's really one waitress doing the restaurant and one attending the bar. The one attending the bar would help out in the restaurant area when she could I really didn't have to wait for anything. They did a great job Serving us. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in a mood for steak or seafood I don't affordable price.

Who knew this little bistro/lounge at the Bear Springs Hotel in Highland, Ca. would have such a delicious menu? Oh, and they change the dining menu options ever so often. They also have a full bar menu for drinks as well. The vibe is upscale casual. There are two dinning areas at the hotel. One is the bistro (for more quiet dining) and directly across the hall is the lounge, where food and drink are also available. Great spot for a fun date night. On Friday and Saturday nights in the lounge, there is live music from 6-9pm. You can just order drinks and enjoy the music in the lounge, but you're gonna want to try the food too-it's yummy! The Bear Springs Hotel Bistro & Lounge is not just for hotel guests. It's a go to spot for locals, vacationers and those visiting the Yaamava Casino. Check it out.

To start, the server took our order and was polite and organized. She brought out our drinks efficiently. The coffee is flavorless. The veggie omelet was flavorless too and tasted bland and like the eggs were watered down. The seafood omelette was fine. The biscuit and gravy was big. The pitcher for the hot tea had a dangerously broken handle that could have fallen off. I asked for Tabasco and got a little syrup container filled with Tabasco so that o needed to borrow someone's spoon to put it lightly on the potatoes because it was weird that it was to be poured on. The food doesn't look like the pictures if the food in the elevator doors. Disappointingly mid.

It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

We made reservations for four, and as soon as we arrived, we were seated right away, which was a great start. Unfortunately, I noticed a few cleanliness issues almost immediately. The tables were pretty dusty, and the glass water cups we were given still had food residue on them. One even had what looked like a lipstick mark on the rim. I let our waitress know, and she apologized and quickly brought us new glasses. Those were still dirty as well, with (food residue) so I asked if she could replace them again. After the third attempt, the glasses finally came out spotless. It seemed like there may have been an issue with the dishwasher filter?, but I really appreciated how kind and apologetic our waitress was throughout the entire situation. The drinks were good overall. I ordered a couple of nonalcoholic drinks, and they were refreshing and flavorful. We also tried the cheese fries and the fried onion, and both were really tasty. Overall, I'd give this place a 6/10. The rough start with the cleanliness definitely affected the experience, but the service helped make up for it. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making things right, and that went a long way. I absolutely loved the vibe and the music, and I think this place has a lot of potential. I'd definitely be willing to give it another try because I think it could be a great spot for a fun night out.

So good. I went with the fun one, Come on Baby Light my Fire, which included dole whip! I felt like I was drinking a tasty boozy dole whip float, and the drink was quite large. We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.
