The Stone Ridge is always a winner!! We went out to dinner there on Saturday night around 5 pm and had to wait 15 minutes for a table which was no big deal. Our server was very friendly and immediately asked us what we wanted to drink - love it! I got the seasonal margarita which was a hibiscus watermelon margarita and it was amazing! For dinner, I ordered the barbecue chicken with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables as a side. It's a smallish restaurant with a horseshoe shaped bar located at the end of a side street. We have been a few times and they warmly welcome us back. We are not regulars, at least not yet! They have weekly specials and a nice selection on their regular menu. If you like cocktails they have some fun ones along with the expected. Decent beer selection as well as some N/A beers. We started with pretzel sticks with two different dips- pretzels were hot and very good. For dinner my husband got the prime rib sandwich and I got the bbq chicken sandwich, both were on the specials menu. Visited this place last week with friends. I got steak tips - 4 dry as rubber. One friend got a soupy pasta dish. The other got the biggest chicken Parmesan that I have ever seen! Came to this restaurant after seeing its reviews on Yelp and was grateful to have the same great experience with their meals! The blackened fish tacos were incredible. Their sweet potato fries were also flavorful without being overly greasy. The one downside to our meal was that the service was quite slow on the day we came. Stopped here for lunch with my brother and nephew and the staff was very nice and accommodating for the infant. Has a local bar and pub vibe. The food is on the expensive side for pub style but it was good. I got the turkey tip and veggies and it was $24 but could have been another turkey tip or two. Upon seating, our server appeared to be the bartender She started by saying that she they had a busy weekend and went over the one page menu with us, letting us know what dishes were not available This immediately reduced the selection by a fair amount. I don't know if this is a positive or negative you can look at it either way, My guest and I opted for two soups one French onion one house soup. the onion soup looks great however was lacking in seasoning. So delicious and always reliable for excellence! Tonight we got the fish and chips, which was cooked to perfection and not the least bit greasy. My dish was spectacular! I got the Carolina Steak kabobs. I don't usually like to get the same dish twice, but I'm definitely going back for these! They came with peppers and onions and Florentine rice -perfection! This place was recommended to me by a friend. It's located in plainville, towards the back of a business park. There was ample parking and the area had plenty of lighting. When we got there we had to wait around 30 minutes to be seated because the restaurant was full. The restaurant was cozy and had a very local feeling, if that makes sense. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I waited 1 hour for my food. We were going to walk out that's how long we had to wait. No complimentary bread, nothing. They just ignore you. So why only one star? We have limited funds and really look forward to when we can go out as a family. One or two flubs are understandable. When so many things are neglected as well as sub par it is impossible to give grace. If the manager does respond to this review to this I say, you missed your opportunity when we were sitting in front of you. You were well aware that we had concerns and did zero to make amends in the moment. We really wanted to like this place. It had a welcoming feel when we walked in, and then events unfolded. What follows are what made up a portion of our complaints. There were smaller infractions not described here. 1. They brought our apps drop them on the table and ran. We didn't have knives and when we couldn't get anyone's attention we got our own from a basket on the bar. 2. Three of the mains arrived and again it was a drop and run. As that food got cold we waited for 5 more minutes for the fourth meal. We had to quickly say that we wanted mustard and more drinks, as the server was making another speedy exit. 2. The Mac & Cheese with pulled pork had scant pulled pork and we just okay, which would be the theme for the entire meal. 3. The meat lovers pizza was over done. 4. The meat on the Ruben was gray, and looked and tasted more like roast beef than corned beef. Finally, they dropped the check and ran. After waiting 10 minutes, I timed it, visibly frustrated, my husband brought it to the bar. No one, at any point, asked if there was an issue, or even asked if everything was okay. While the food presentation was beautiful and the portions were large- it was over cooked. I believe the waitress knew as she did ask us a few times if everything was ok - I kept poking at my chicken (was rubbery) and my daughter pushed aside her sandwich (steak was tough and over cooked). My mom didn't want to make a big deal out of it so I didnt complain- that is on me. I am sure they would have made things right so we are defiantly going back here as there were so many positives- and it really does have so much potential. The restaurant is well decorated- really adorable and make one feel at home. Televisions everywhere and different seating options and areas. The servers were super nice and friendly. Very accommodating. Prices were good for the large portions and sides. My chicken dinner was $22, steak sandwich was $15. Beautiful presentation. Meatball appetizer was phenomenal. Nice place first time there. I ordered the baked haddock on 6/20/2025 at about 7:30 pm. Got about half way through the fish then found black spots in the meat of the fish which means that the fish had diseased parasite. when i brought to the attention of our server she brought back to the chef and he said that it was a clump of pepper.it was not. When i got home it bother me on the excuse. I called restaurant and asked for the manager they said that the owner would call me latter that night. Still waiting for the call. read more

Had a fantastic meal and cocktails here! I had the steak tips, mashed potatoes and asparagus/mushrooms/tomatoes/garlic. Probably the best vegetable side dish I've ever had. Incredible flavor. The mashed potatoes were amazing and the tips were cooked perfectly (med rare). The tips come in 3 sizes: 8 oz, 16 oz and 20 oz. I got the 8 oz. and it was perfect. My SO had the prime rib special and he loved it. The cranberry margarita was huge and delicious (not too sweet) and a key lime martini was the perfect dessert. Good beers on tap. Friendly service. It was busy but not so loud you couldn't have a have a conversation. The food was plentiful and really good. My husbands prime rib, was barely warm, but thick and delicious, I was reluctant to get the fried chicken as last time my husband got one good piece and one fat grisly piece, but both pieces were cooked well and the potatoes were real and fresh and creamy, the Mac and cheese however was disappointing, it was runny orange cheese and not the delicious creamy white cheese sauce you used to get. Flavor was good and they came out hot! I ordered the special pizza with extra cheese and my wife ordered the GF pepperoni pizza. Her pizza came out and looked good. She did like it, and GF pizza is not always easy to find. They apologized because they didn't bring my pizza. They said they only made a cheese pizza and not the special pizza so they were making it now. When it came out, it was just ok. Definitely nothing special. It looked like they just threw it together and rushed to get it to me. For having all the toppings on it, the flavor was just bland.... We we come back? What a great find!! All I can say is that this place is a winner! Like big time winner. To be honest we weren't sure what to expect and didn't have high expectations. We were blown away by the entire experience. Service- awesome! We sat at the bar and were served by Leo, the bartender. He was soooo nice and took great care of us. We were also assisted by Tori, who was behind the bar as well. Food- OMG..we started with the Clam Chowder. This might be one of the best clam chowders I've had since moving to the area. It's a thinner chowder, which I'm finding that I prefer over the thick and creamy chowder. It's packed with great flavor and fresh ingredients. Also ordered wings...grabbed 6 of the Thai Chili, a nice balance of sweet and spicy. Good size wing that was nice and crispy. These wings def have a spice factor to them, which we loved! Don't forget the ranch:) Finally, ended with the fish and chips. This was another winner. Nice large piece of haddock that was coated with a light and crispy batter served with delicious fries We had the opportunity to chat with Peter the owner, who is great. He was warm to both his customers and his staff, and you can tell he's passionate about offering a great experience. This will definitely turn into one of my go to spots. Came here about two weeks ago and forgot to post a review. I found out about this place from a friend because of their extensive martini list and mini martini samplers! My husband and I had the lobster mac and cheese and it was amazing!!! The martini sampler comes in 3 or 6 (don't be fooled they are small!... but delicious!) The lady who was waiting on us was also taking phone calls that came in, as well as being the bartender and helping out 3-4 other tables. She was working her butt off! At the end of the meal we gave her a very generous tip! We are coming tomorrow night on a double date with our friends. We will be excited to be back! I have been to Stone Ridge three times and it has impressed me every single time! The waitstaff and management are absolutely fantastic and the food is genuinely good. Every meal my family and I have tried is clearly made to order and made from scratch. You can tell that things like the chicken parm and fried chicken dinner are hand breaded. Things you can't miss are the bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops, if you're going around Oktoberfest the giant Bavarian pretzel which is hot, soft, and the beer cheese is out of control. Every-time I leave there we always have to-go containers because the portions are huge. Cant wait to make it here for a prime rib night because I'm sure it's going to be great! read more

Tonight was the third time I've been here, it's small quaint and the food is quality. Tonight we started with bang bang calamari and shrimp and scallops wrapped in bacon. The scallops were as sweet as can be they were delightful!! The bang bang calamari was amazing, the sauce was so yummy. We shared the Caesar Salad and 8oz steak tips with asparagus. All of which was great!!! No complains tonight from either of us!!
