    Over half empty

we were told it would be a 25 minute wait. We waited 38 minutes even though there was a constant supply of empty tables of all sizes. It was completely ridiculous. Then we waited 30 minutes for our food. The place literally was not busy. Check out the video of my roll.

Stopped for breakfast! Good food, friendly and fast service. Not many places to stop along the interstate. Would for sure stop again on the way through. Plenty of parking. Nice small town feel inside. Comfortable atmosphere.

Great place to stop for a road trip from St. Louis to Louisville. It about hits the halfway mark of the trip. Food was pretty good. Ordered their special lunch steak sandwich on the way to Louisville and on the way back I got the buffalo chicken Sandwich? They called it a sandwich, but it was basically just some chicken and cheese on toast. Fairly tasty, but it did not come with any sides and it was not too filling. I hear that their desserts here are wonderful. Will need to try that the next time I come.

I was a little disappointed. It was nice that they had a bar, and I could order a Bloody Mary, but it was mediocre at best. Hubs and I both ordered off the Lunch menu. He had a Small Taco Wedge salad and I had the Corned Beef & Swiss panini. The German Potato salad side was GREAT! Both meals were okay, but it took way longer than it should have for a salad and a sandwich. I don't know if they were short on help in the kitchen, or what. Not bad. Not great either.

Stopped here on our huge family road trip through 16 states. The best way I can describe this place is a more authentic Cracker Barrel that isn't franchised. Very down fo earth southern feel. The menu itself was very large and diverse. For instance I got homemade lasagna which was very good. Very tender and smooth. My oldest daughter got fried gator tail. We all sampled it out of curiosity. Pretty good. Best way to explain was a spicy chewy chicken nugget. The wife got jambalaya. She liked it but other then that I couldn't get a better explanation. The decor inside was really cool and they had a nice little shop area as well. When we visited it was during the covid pandemic and they did very well at maintaining all safety protocols including several Sanitizer stations setup. Very good and friendly service as well. If I had to say anything negative it is that they pass off there credit card fees on the customer. It's part of my big 3 rules that always makes a place lose a star rating (no refills/fountain sodas, does not accept credit cards and charging the customer for using a credit card). I enjoyed this place tremendously but it definitely soured my experience. I have a large family and I actually use to work in credit card processing and the fee i got more then covered a processing fee. I honestly feel bad for the waitresses/waiters because I can imagine some people will take that extra fee out of there tips. I've honestly never seen a restaurant use this tactic and I imagine it probably so people don't penalize the service workers.

The service was good which is why it has two stars and not one. We went on a Sunday after church and it was packed. We always try fried pickles. Lots of the fried pickles we try are not memorable, unless they are really good. These are memorable because they were horrible. We were seriously considering canceling our orders and leaving after tasting the fried pickles because they were that bad. The only flavor was from the batter which was extremely salty. There was no pickle taste because the pickle was severely dried out. Lunch wasn't bad but my husband threw up an hour later. Nothing memorable to say about the bbq. It takes like it came straight from the bottle. Steak fries were mid. Potatoes needed some more flavor. The baked beans were really good. I really wanted to like this place because it gives the vibes of a Cracker Barrel without the chain but I won't be back!

There isn't much on this stretch of Highway, but stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. Huge restaurant but was mostly empty on a weekday at lunch time. Really cute and country inside! Lots of options on the menu and great prices. Food wasn't spectacular, but fine for what we needed. I'd eat here again!

Stopped here for lunch, and it was a great break from sitting in the hot car for hours on our road trip. The restaurant is large and nicely air-conditioned with old-timey farm decorations. Since we had gorged ourselves on lots of heavy eats throughout a week-long vacation, I opted for a small grilled chicken salad with poppyseed dressing and unsweetened ice tea to have a lighter meal. (I was also saving room for some yummy leftover BBQ ribs sitting in the cooler in the car that I was going to eat afterwards, haha.) The salad was fine. It came with a lot of cheese and two packets of crackers and was a fairly good light meal. I did notice lot of other dishes on the menu that I wanted to try, but alas, it was not meant to be for me that day. My bf got the fried pork tenderloin sandwich and really liked it. Didn't see any Hoosier cream pie on the menu. I heard it's an Indiana thing, but I have yet to see it sold anywhere.

Stopped for dinner on a Saturday evening, 1/2 lb burger was excellent, along with the turkey on croissant. Great service and food.

This place has gone downhill. Overpriced and breakfast not very good. Plus they charge extra 4% to use credit cards. Nope and done.

We parked in front of the restaurant, and were seated immediately. The inside is small, but they also have a nice little patio area if the weather is right. We chose to sit inside this time. The bar is nice as well. They were busy but the food and drinks come out quickly, so that helps. I started with the signature drink according to the server. It was called the lucky bucket, and it's a spicy strawberry margarita. It definitely has a kick to it, with good flavor. I ordered the special, which was a chicken Parmesan sandwich, made with a homemade marinara sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, and banana peppers. It was delicious!!! My husband had the fried chicken club sandwich. They originally brought out the wrong sandwich for him, so the picture is of a different sandwich, but once corrected, he said it was good. He ate the other half of my sandwich and liked it better! We also shared the classic fries and a slice of the vanilla cheesecake with homemade berry compote for dessert. Great service. Delicious food. We will be back to try the burgers! They looked and smelled amazing too...

Many…read moremany years ago this was a fabulous restaurant.. the last time I ate at Cork and Cleaver was seven years ago and the prime rib was so tough I couldn't cut it.. I thought it was just a fluke and I returned last nigh, sadly I had a ribeye that was so full of gristle that every bike had to be spit out because it could not be chewed. It was also about half an inch thick. I don't really know how you can mess up a baked potato, but they managed it had a strange taste to it like bacon. Perhaps they sliced it with a soiled knife. And the butter didn't taste like butter perhaps they are using some butter substitute or it's expired. The place needs to be remodeled and returned to its former glory. Otherwise just close the doors, excessively expensive for mediocre food.

Promising Place That Needs Some Polish"…read more I've been wanting to try this place for a while. The entrance is nice, but the outside definitely needs a bit of work. When we walked in, there was a stale smell and it felt like they were understaffed. Our server was friendly but seemed overworked and a bit distracted. Cleanliness: Men's bathroom was clean, but my girlfriend mentioned the women's bathroom needed attention and had some odd pictures of men on the walls. The dining area was okay, but the place could use a vacuum and some fresh air--maybe open a window or two. Atmosphere: The seating was comfortable, and there's a small bar in the back. However, the bar staff didn't seem trained in cocktails. A Manhattan came served in a double shot glass--not ideal. Food: The ribeye special I ordered (medium) was slightly tough but still flavorful. The garlic mushrooms were too salty and there were too many of them. That said, the salad bar was impressive--lots of fresh toppings and custom options. Definitely the highlight of the meal. My girlfriend had the bourbon grilled chicken and wasn't impressed. It was tough and bland. The rice it came with was cooked well but needed more onions and peppers like the menu described. The appetizer bread and butter were solid--about a 7/10. Dessert: Didn't try any desserts. Nothing on the menu really stood out. Final Thoughts: With some interior and exterior improvements, a cleaner environment, and a revamped drink menu, this place could easily be a 4-star spot. For now, it's a decent option if you're craving steak or want to build your own salad. Worth trying--but expect a few rough edges.
