The name has changed: now it's the Wagon Wheel but the food, the decor, and the service are all still great. In fact, I think the food is even a little better under the new name. My Dad takes me here, and we like to head for the booths in the bar since Dad has some trouble walking and also likes to watch sports on all the tvs in the bar. We arrived one time on all you can eat catfish night, and they serve fiddlers that are flaky white meat and coated in a perfect cornmeal batter. Wonderful! The steaks are very good, and if you love comfort food, order a side of the grown up Mac and cheese. It's extra special. My husband and I both ordered the pulled pork plate and two sides. The slaw was vinegar based so he didn't order it. He ordered French fries and baked beans. Nothing special. He said they tasted like they had syrup in them. I ordered a house salad with Italian dressing. The dressing was creamy, not vinegar based as I prefer. Mashed potatoes horrible and not homemade, mac and cheese taste like it was microwaved. Gravy on the open faced manhatten is so salty I can feel my blood pressure rising. Wife had the spaghetti and said it was just as terrible. Way way way over priced. I normally do not even leave bad reviews but this place is terrible so I hope you heed this warning. The food here was solid, well at least what I had tried when I recently stopped in for lunch while making my way to Louisville. There was two in my party and we arrived shortly after lunch, there were only two other tables so service was pretty fast and friendly. We both looked over the menu and both decided on just a sandwich. I went with the special, which was a Fried Chicken Club served with bacon and cheese and what tasted like a touch or ranch on the bun. The sandwich itself was great, I am pretty sure that the breast was soaked in buttermilk before being fried, because it had a great taste and the inside was juicy while the fried batter was crisp and perfectly seasoned. The other item that was ordered was the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, which I heard was just as tasty. Both sandwiches were served with fair amount of fries. Overall prices were reasonable and the food was good, we even discussed returning on the way back if we happened to be passing by around lunch. The inside is decorated like an old farm with two separate dining rooms and a separate bar area. One thing I did find odd was the rhinestone studded suit on display. Apparently The Red Wagon somehow came into possession of a rhinestone-studded suit designed by Bob Bannister for Glen Campbell and a 1975 TV appearance featuring the song, Rhinestone Cowboy. Overall I could see this being a popular place with the locals and roadside travelers alike. If you happen to be passing by I recommend making a stop. read more

Went there for breakfast, not anything special. Tried the buffet, it was mediocre at best, and the service sucked. Stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes waiting to be seated, yet they didn't have hardly any one eating. Then trying to get a refill took an act of Congress. I actually liked Red Wagon--though I did not like my dish at all. My companion fared far better--he ordered the black bean burger. I get the feeling the food can be hit or miss here. We stopped in on our way to WV. It looks like a local owned Cracker Barrel, very clean, nice setting. Wait staff was very nice and helpful. The menu was extensive, diverse and the staff was well versed in knowledge of food. They were helpful in suggesting specials and favorites. We ordered the Cajun Jambalaya and gator bites, amazing!!! The red wagon cafe is by far one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. The staff is possibly the friendliest in all of southern Indiana. The shrimp scampi out does anything I've ever tasted, the gumbo is spectacular, and the steak was done to my exact specifications. They have an entire room decorated as a woodland theme that took my breath away. The steak sandwich was disappointing and we wouldn't order it again. There was a lot of fat and veins. (Gag). Came here for lunch. Ordered appetizers as the meal to share. The combo, Catfish nuggets and the fried pickles. They were all amazing;the pickles and the mushrooms were not heavily breaded so you could actually taste them not just batter. The service was really good, also. We loved the Feedmill in Morganfield, but the service and quality is not up to par In Poseyville. 2 out of 3 times the food was cold. The third time it took forever to get the catfish (it was all you could eat). The fish was overcooked and the service horrible. After we received our bill we remembered that we had a coupon. When the waitress brought our bill back to us the check was actually higher. They gave us someone else's bill. We were in there forever. Will not try a fourth time. read more

The owners have done a great job with this place; very visually appealing, some local art on display in the party room, a gift shop area, and a clean open restaurant to dine in. The menu is heavily written to carry several cajun dishes including jambalaya, ettoufee, alligator, crawfish, gumbo, shrimp, etc. They also have fried chicken, quail, and sandwiches, salads, etc. Lots of southern style dishes also cover the menu with several southern style sides and desserts. Disappears for about 15 mins finally another lady takes our drink orders five mins later she brings them to us. We set again forever before one of them come back keep in mind there are not many other tables in there maybe three an a small party table by us. We never got our appetizer because they said they forgot it. We get our food finish it than we get the appetizer brought out! We never got new drinks and or refills the guys had liquor and only one beer! After I finished my food I went and found a tea pitcher and got my own drink lol! Very disappointed in our visit tonight. The service was terrible, the waiter didn't come back very often. We had a party of 20. We were charged gratuity and I think that is so wrong. The waiter doesn't even have to try and we get "charged" for his bad service. Then they charged $.25 a plate because we used their plates for cake we brought in and didn't get the cake from them. When I attempted to meet some friends there for New Years dinner they wouldn't let me in. Food was good. For the most part. My baked potato, which I paid an up charge for on my daughter's meal, were both what I would consider burned (see photo). Our server, I didn't catch her name, was friendly, but very slow. I wanted to switch my drink and I sat with the old drink at the edge of the table for almost 15 minutes before she came over. My daughter's sweet tea tasted instant and was not very good, but she did not want to wait like I did for a change. There was also no ice in her second cup of "iced tea". The waitress took a while also for extra napkins, ketchup, salt, pepper, etc. The Waitress also pushed desert even though I wasn't interested the first time she brought it up. I try to allow some Grace because everyone is overworked and underpaid right now due to the Pandemic. However, I felt these things were basic Customer Service and should have been caught earlier during our visit or better taught during training. I'm not sure if she was new with no previous experience, or what was going on. I was not impressed with the service at all. Aside from the potatoes, our food was good. I gave 3 stars because of the speed and quality of service, and because the potatoes were burned or had been sitting all day.
