They are known for their farro risotto, cauliflower, and shrimp and grits. Farro risotto - delicious, a bit heavy, very creamy and filling Shrimp and grits- a lot of flavor but more soupy than I'd like Cauliflower - so so so good!! Brisket - okay Brisket tacos - Delicious! I love Red Yeti. I've been here a few times, for work or business lunches mostly. Today I enjoyed the Brisket Tacos, which were garnished with onions, cilantro and lime slices. Greens and tomatoes were served on the side. The brisket was perfectly juicy and tender, and complemented well by the chipotle aioli. The lime juice and cilantro added a layer of freshness. I enjoyed every bite. The others enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich, and steak frites. They raved about everything, including the truffle fries. I love that they've restored a historical building downtown, and that they partner with local farms. The staff are great, efficient and friendly. The only negative I would say is the limited seating and possible long wait. But honestly, the food is worth it. read more

Each course was delicious, unique, creative, and memorable. The products from Fischer Farms were special; however, Chef Bowe elevated each dish to the moon. Greeted instantly when we walked in and were seated right away without a reservation on a Sunday evening. Menu was full of delicious options, it was hard to narrow down between the brown butter swordfish, short ribs, burgers, steak, fried chicken. We ultimately ordered steak frites (medium rare) with an extra side of mac and cheese, and the fried chicken with cheddar grits and kale. Both dishes were huge, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. The fries are hand cut like Penn Station style, and the Mac and cheese has a creamy alfredo style white cheese on it. The cheddar grits were excellent, and the breading on the chicken was crisp and drizzled with a light bit of sweet syrup - so good! I don't know if the kitchen had an off day, bad luck, or what, but all semblance of quality was MIA. I ordered a Fried Chicken Sammie with grits as my side. The fried chicken was as dry as a flipflop. If there was any crispness to the meat's breading, the otherwise dry meat worked against it. The same is true for the rest of the sandwich. The veggies, sauce, and bread were all overshadowed by the disgrace the kitchen allowed to leave its doors. I wish I could say the grits fared better, but I cannot. Two issues here: first, the consistency wasn't very grits-y. Perhaps they use a coarser grind? The real undoing is that the salt level was very high. It seems as though they salted the grits as though plain, and then added a salty cheese. You may ask yourself if I wished I ordered fries, and I have to say no. Instead of something fresh, hot, and crisp, I found a limp, sad piece of oiled potato that seems like when I make my own pan fries, and re-heat them in the microwave. Visiting family in Jeffersonville and they recommended The Red Yeti so we decided to give them a try! Unfortunately we got there at dinner time and we missed out on being able to order the Brisket Tacos . But all was not lost as I found cheese grits and truffle fries on the menu! Yes I know that doesn't sound like a "meal" but when you are on vacation you should be able to eat what you want! The waitress was friendly, attentive, and ensured all our questions about the menu were answered, along with giving us a recommendation for dessert. The decor in the restaurant was fun and I really loved the exposed brick. My cheese grits were full of flavor and cooked perfectly, just a wee bit on the salty side. I still gobbled those suckers down tho! The truffle fries with roasted garlic aioli were the star of the show and I see why so many people recommend them! And for the price we received a pile of fries so it was well worth it to me. My sweet tea was perfectly steeped and not overly sweet, which made this southern gal very happy. I had no room for dessert but our family insisted we split a slice of homemade cheesecake with caramel sauce and although I could only manage 3 bites it was phenomenal. So, we ate off the "transition menu" which is an abbreviated menu that allows them to flip over to the dinner menu. We enjoyed the truffle fries. The brisket sandwich was fantastic. The fried chicken was tasty, too. As for the sides... The grits were very savory. The braised kale was surprisingly good. It's almost like collard greens, but with the texture of turnips - very soft. The Mac n cheese was mushy and lacked flavor - I wouldn't order that again. It's a small spot, so I would call ahead to check the wait. There are only a few tables... and then there are even less when the buffet is out. There's a bar in the other side, but we didn't check it out. Maybe next time! read more

Met an old friend for lunch here. The service was great. The place was comfortable until they started to get crowded, then became a bit too loud for conversation. We had an order of truffle fries for an appetizer & they were really outstanding. I ordered the chicken salad wrap. I was actually shocked when it arrived because it appeared to be mostly spring mix. The wrap had maybe 1/4 cup of chicken salad on the inside. Seriously - not exaggerating. It would've been really good had the ratio of wrap, spring mix, chicken been better. I pretty much deconstructed the thing and left behind much of the wrap. Felt very overpriced for $16. I would definitely give them another try, but go for a different menu option. read more

Once again I have dined at this restaurant. They never fail me in taste and flavor. I always get the same thing and it's consistently the same. I highly recommend. My only suggestion to the owner is the employees are not the most friendly and it takes away from the experience. The hostess was polite but busy at a table having a conversation. The waiter was nice but not very happy. being in the service industry employees should welcome and make the customer feel welcome. Possibly they had a rough day , I get it! It was a hazy IPA and had a fresh citrus taste. It was so refreshing on a warm day. There wasn't a lot of choices on their lunch menu, so I got the Fauxhawk Burger and hand cut fries. ***WARNING **!!! Make sure to ask how much the brunch buffet is. Even though they have a sign taped in the window that says "Adults $24" the manager feels he reserves the right to increase the price to whatever he desires- WITHOUT NOTICE- as long as he calls it a "special brunch." Therefore, a brunch that is advertised as $24 per adult can magically become $38 per adult- WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION- on any day the manager considers a "holiday." Heck... it could be Lost Sock Memorial Day as long he tells you that it's a "special day"; he feels entitled to increase the price per person even though there was no indication that "Day After Derby" is considered a "special brunch" by this establishment. And, for those of you who do not live in the Louisville area: the day after derby is no more a "special occasion" or "holiday" than the day after Christmas. The manger apologized for the "miscommunication." I fail to see how a blatant lie can be misconstrued as a simple "miscommunication." This was blatant deception. Now on to the food: it is said that over salting food is the hallmark of a bad chef. If this is so, Red Yeti must have the worst chef in the Louisville area because it tastes like they brine all of their ingredients. Everything was so salty! Now on to execution: the "buffet" area is excruciatingly tiny as is their seating area. Expect to rub elbows. The thing that shocked me, though was how many times they ran out of plates and cutlery. Almost as if they have to wash it as soon as someone is done with it so they can keep rotating it. And whomever they have making omelettes and cutting meat must be the dishwasher because he was constantly missing from his station and returning with clean plates. Many people had to wait for him to cut their meat or make an omelette. In short, this writer will not be returning to this establishment. A fact they, no doubt relish. They seem to prefer to cater to those who will accept subpar service and are not smart enough to call them on their BS pricing. read more

The reason for 3-stars was our service. Our Food was excellent. I got the fried chicken and my wife got the brisket. The braised greens were to die for. However, my grandchildren ordered the chicken tenders which were not good. They looked like frozen tenders. We expected their tenders to be hand breaded. Our server was not very helpful. When i asked about the tenders being frozen, she could not answer my question, nor did she volunteer to find out. Also, I had to flag her down when i needed another drink and more napkins. She also brought our check and never asked if we wanted desert. She was a nice person, just not very good at her job. The ambience was very nice. We visited today with my daughter and her friend. My daughter has celiac disease, so I confirmed multiple times with staff that a gluten-free burger bun was available. Both the host and our server assured us it was. After the food arrived, I questioned it because the buns looked identical and was again told they were gluten free. Unfortunately, after my daughter had already taken a couple bites, we were informed that the bun was not gluten free -- it was egg free. They don't actually carry gluten-free buns. The staff apologized, remade her burger without a bun, and comped her meal, which I appreciated. Overall we enjoyed the restaurant, but this was a concerning mix-up. When allergies or celiac disease are clearly communicated, it's critical that staff know exactly what they're serving. read more

They hadn't cleaned the rain off of the outdoor seats, so my friend and I opted to while away some time indoors. For me, the beer cheese & baguette was the highlight of what we ordered. Crunchy bread and melty cheese made for a rich, textured snack. We also enjoyed some of the local beers they offered on tap. This food won't ruin your day, but it won't make it, either. read more

I was initially disappointed to hear they only served it with carrots. My comfort food seeking self was yearning for creamy mash or corn pudding, but no. Upon first bite I wanted for NOTHING more than another bite. Am I still mad at them for getting rid of the lamb meatballs? Yes, and I'm not sure i will totally forgive them until I see them again- but they have greatly redeemed them selves with this. Hold on - I have more! The season cocktails - every single one of them looked delish. I chose the lumberjack, a complex, warm, appley concoction that warmed my weary soul. I intended on trying another with dinner but optioned for a glass of red wine. Beautiful clean bathrooms, staff that was charismatic and kind, even when I came an hour before close....
