I called Patrick and Brandon at the Rental place and they said we got the perfect thing, the Ozone air purifier.

A different kind of review…read more I visited Tim's shop to seek a fix on my snowboard for a couple of core shots that happened early season. I'm someone who keeps their boards for a long time, but this year was the year I happened to upgrade. I brought in my new Burton Custom to see if Tim's shop could take on the fixes. I was pretty bummed out, and I knew I needed to take care of filling these core shots if I wanted to keep this board like my other ones for many years. Tim graciously inquired, "have you done any kind of repair work on your boards before?" I said I have not. He then was very encouraging and said I should try and do the work. It is labor intensive, and I could learn for future repairs. I ride trees and backcountry a lot. Tim then told me what to buy and hooked me up with metal grind and p-tex for free. Well, after a few YouTube videos and buying my own tune kit, I finished the repairs and tune today and it turned out so good! Even though I didn't get anything serviced at Tim's shop, he was cool and "taught me how to fish." I could have spent the same amount of money to get it fixed at Tim's shop or other, but now I learned a life long skill that is in an industry I love so much. Tim's shop was super busy with tunes and fixes, and I'm sure that's part of the reason he was encouraging for me to take on doing the work. But ultimately, I think he saw someone who is passionate about snowboarding and could learn something really useful. Thanks for the challenge Tim, I might start charging my friends to fix their gear :-) Justin

Listened to the issues I was having it, busted out the screwdriver and diagnosed it on the spot, took it in for a fair price and got it back to me the day we agreed on looking absolutely pristine. And gosh the tune up job was almost too good, I was flying down the slopes, and even traversing catwalks it felt like it just wanted to go. Can't recommend this shop enough. Yes it's a bit more expensive than your big business spots but the peace of mind and clear care for your equipment is worth it to me personally. Will be coming back for all of my maintenance needs.

I've gotten accustomed to skiing in pain over my 40+ years of skiing, and previous boot fittings never quite yielded the results i wanted. I have odd shaped feet - like a cartoon duck. narrow in the back and wide and square at the toes. high volume boots never quite fit right as they would still be narrow at the toes, but then way too loose in the back with a lot of heel lift. thermal liners never seemed to solve any of my problems. punches seemed to help, but never remove the problem. enter Paul. this man is a gift sent from the goddess Skadi. He assured me my feet weren't that far out of band, and proceeded to tweak the best fitting boot i've ever used. I can go a full day charging with minimal discomfort. i dont have to undo the buckles every lift ride up. i wanted to wait out the season before i gave a review as I wanted to see how well the results held up over several days, but the 5 stars is well warranted. i've decided to try learning telemark this season, and finding any boot has been extremely difficult. there are not many models, and even fewer stock of said models, whether used or new. but once i find a boot, you can be sure i'll be bringing it to Paul (who claims to have never fitted a telemark boot, but i'm going to convince him to give it a go).

I'm shocked this company is top rated and people recommend it…read more I came for their expertise to choose the best boots for my feet. During the painful thermo fitting procedure I told many times it feels wrong and too narrow. They told me "hang on, I know what I'm doing, you have super narrow feet and we have only one boot model that will fit you right". I had no choice but to trust and paid more than $1000. Every time I wear these boots, I tell myself I'm switching back to a snowboard. My feet get numb as soon as I put the boots on even without buckling up. After a dozen of painful rides I returned and they did another fitting of the same boots. It didn't help. Now I'm sitting in a ski rental with amazing comfortable boots on my feet and think how much I hate California Ski Company for ripping me off and creating so many problems and waste of time.

It's enormous -- the kind of enormous where you half-expect to find a lost civilization in the camping section. And somehow they have everything. Outdoor gear, bike shop, rentals for basically any activity you've ever considered trying drunk at a party, lift ticket discounts... if it involves fresh air and mild suffering, they've got you covered. Now let's talk about the Basementeers membership, because it deserves its own paragraph. Twenty-five dollars. Once. For life. That's not a typo. For the price of a mediocre cocktail, you get 10% off forever, plus occasional 20% Friends & Family discounts. I've made worse financial decisions in the same afternoon. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and seemingly immune to the judgment you'd deserve for asking "what's the difference between hiking and walking." Basically: go. Join. Buy things. Touch grass -- they sell gear for that too.

I like the program because the items don't end up in the landfill and someone else can use a perfectly good item. I used to love trading in and the credit was 25 to 30%, then it went to 20% then it went to 10% and now 5% for street items. I do understand camping gear is more than 5%, not much more. I would really hate to see that section go under and not be used the way it was intended, when the program was created. I imagine fewer people are bringing items when they only receive 5% on street items. I brought a street item in, which was a very nice new woman's backpack, with the tags, for $65 not including tax. I received $3.25 trade-in, that's 5%. The down grade is very disappointing. The profits could be shared, the store credit ends up going back into the store. Good luck, maintaining this section due to policies. Please reevaluate before it's too late, check for decline.
