I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with the team here. We must have come in 4 or 5 separate times. Jason, Kass and the rest of the team have been extremely helpful. What I appreciate about them is the no nonsense approach, we have three young boys so having them say we should do LVP with no less than 20 mil of wear was helpful. We also never felt any pressure to purchase. We thought we had narrowed down what we wanted took the floors to our new house and it did not match at all! What did look great was a much more expensive floor from a different store. Jason and Kass helped us find one of their floors that matched and even gave us the floor sample to take to the house! Just got a quote for some $7.99 a square foot engineered hardwood floor with install for a 420 square foot open rectangle room. Current Flooring has carpet over cement. Quote for the glue down method, which is apparently what must be done due to concrete floor, was $15,400.00. I called to confirm the quote wasn't in error and was told it was correct. Really? Two other quotes from competitors were $5300.00 and $6200.00. Low price guarantee? I think not. read more

We went in to select flooring for our house over the weekend and the salesperson working the floor was both surly, unfriendly and unhelpful, providing very little information. Being the only people in the store other than another guy who sat with her at the front desk, whom I don't think worked there because he was glued to his phone, she had a great opportunity to make a $10,000 sale that evening. We had been referred there to select our flooring. She got a call, that she pit on speaker so everyone in the store could hear, and was as rude to him as us. He needed more flooring and she said they were out of it and she never offered to call other area LL stores to see their inventory for him. Home Depot and Lowe's does. I don't see how a company can stay in business when their sales associates do less work than someone working at the Gap. At least at the Gap they greet you with a smile and ask questions. read more

We bought LVP flooring. It is marketed as quiet and durable. We have kids and dogs so durable is by far the most important thing. The salesman confirmed that the vinyl is great for our situation. Spills and messes from kids and dogs don't matter it can handle liquids with no issues. Sounds great right? We bought pads for the legs of every chair couch and anything else in the house just to be safe. We have not even finished installing it and the floor has scratches everywhere. If you can get through a month without scratching it you're a miracle worker. It looked good fro a few days though. The amount of labor it takes to do this makes the cost of the flooring only half of the problem. My wife and I decided last night to tear it out and start over with something that does not suck. The salesman was nice though. If you ignore the fact that he said it was very durable. read more

We looked at several places before choosing to use Lumber Liquidators to put in our bamboo floors. We found the staff at LL to be smart, friendly, and helpful. We also found that the eventual cost was about half of other places. This isn't full service. You have to contract with an installer separately (they hooked us up with a fantastic guy) and you need to be prepared to do some stuff yourself (we hauled all the boxes up from our garage and opened them to let them adjust to the air). But, if you're willing to get a little more involved, you can save a lot of money. Our floors are gorgeous - we got a great deal. read more

I returned something and just happened to check my Visa statement and online statement and 23 days later my Visa was never credited! I wonder how many people they did this too and GOT AWAY WITH IT? They sold me bamboo flooring that had been illegally modified to pass CARB emission standards. I hired an independent company to test the formadelhyde levels in my home and the results showed dangerously high levels. I ended up having to remove the entire flooring, and join a class action lawsuit. I implore you to research this issue and the shady business practices of this company. With regard to the customer service at this store, it is terrible. They are friendly when trying to make the sale, then cold and rude for any service after purchasing. DO NOT patronize this company. You will surely pay more in the end. read more

First off, I want to say that, except for an experience I had with one of the employees, the three other people I worked with at this store were extremely helpful. The one star is because of the product and the leadership at the company. Last summer, I went to the LL store to see if I could find countertops for my kitchen that I would like. I looked at the floor models and chose the cherry. For some reason, the glue between some of the endcuts was only partially filling the space between pieces. It was that way with the cherry and some of the other types of wood. There were other countertops with different wood that did have each section completely fillted with glue though. But I felt the cherry would look best in my kitchen. I asked about defect. The sales rep said that he didn't know what caused it and that he hadn't had any complaints about it. He said that I could go into the warehouse to inspect and pick out the countertops I wanted. So both of us went back and opened up several boxes. I finally found two countertops that I was happy with. I was very impressed with the customer service. The guy was friendly and very patient with me. I then asked to look at backsplashes. The store had a few, but all of them had some of the glue missing and all had chunks taken out of the wood. The missing glue was very noticeable to me and I thought it made the countertop and backsplash look odd. I also thought that it could lead to a integrity issue later. Because of those reasons, I was a little leary. But the price was incredibly low compared to the price of the countertops at other stores and I was impressed with the customer service. Plus LL's countertops looked very nice compared to the others I saw. I decided to buy the two I picked out and had the rep order more backsplashes. They came in a week later and I drove up from Petaluma to SR to pick them up. The shipment contained 5 or 6 backsplashes. I looked through each one but all were badly damaged. Where there were good sections of wood, the glue was missing. For some reason the warehouse doesn't rap the backsplashes before shipping, even though, when they ship the countertops, they are tightly wrapped in cardboard. I had already scheduled people to install the countertops, so I asked when the next shipment was coming. It turned out that it was the day before the installers were to show. I went ahead and ordered the backsplashes again. They did come in on time. I drove up again. And again, there was glue missing and chunks taken out of the wood. Fortunately, there were a few pieces that had just enough good wood that I could cut off the defects. A few days later, the countertops and backsplashss were installed. I brushed on about 6 coats of very high quality sealer. My countertops looked awesome. Then about December, I found that one of the pieces of wood on the countertop had split. Then a few months later, another piece of wood split on a different board. I had taken very good care of the countertops. I wouldn't even let water sit on them for too long, even though they had the sealer. As far as the product that LL sells, I am very disappointed in the quality. On another note, I am also upset that the company's CEO and, more recently, the Chief Compliance Officer have left Lumber Liquidaters following the 60 minutes feature. It gives the appearance that there is very little integrity with the top leadership in the company. And apparently there is more bad news filtering in about the formaldihyde in the flooring. I would not recommend buying anything from LL. I get a feeling that the company won't be around much longer. However, you may be able to find some real bargains once they do go out of business. But then again, is it worth the headache? read more

I purchased with you already. We had a rude salesman who told us there was no discounts, but our product was in stock. So, we ordered at full price. Then we got a call from him 10 minutes later saying our product was not in stock and he would have to order it online. He still would not extend us a 5% discount which is offered online and if we had ordered it we would have gotten the discount. Product came in, my husband picked it up and had to load it himself, no help. WOW now it's starting to get really bad. Then our transition strips never came in pushing our contractor out even further but offered us to come in and pick something close to it, this is after a month. Then once home, the product (flooring) was damaged. Called Nicole, no return for open boxes due to COVID - policy is on the door - rude and never explained anything like that to us at purchase time. No transparency only "you should have read it on the door." So, we had to purchase more, no discount - so burned us good all the way around, also pushed our contractor out again! She, Nicole, also got smart with my husband and said at least we didn't charge you for the transition strips you picked out - WOW their error and with an attitude. NEVER ORDERING/RECOMMENDING THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE EVER. read more

This is my second purchase from LL and my first experience in San Leandro was great. My experience with Santa Rosa is not so. I ordered engineered hardwood flooring. They only had 4 boxes in stock, so I took what they had and installed it. Waited for more than a week before the rest of the wood arrived. It came in 2 days early. When I picked it up, they informed me that I could order the stair caps to finalize some stairs I wanted to do. The Sales Person told me it would be faster if I spent an extra $20. to have them delivered to my home by the following Tuesday than it would take for them to be delivered directly to the store (which would be 2 weeks instead of 1 week to my home). I opted for the home delivery. Needless to say, last Tuesday came and went without the delivery. Since I didn't have the tracking #, I contacted LL Santa Rosa and they informed me that their salesman was incorrect. I would receive my stair caps on the following Saturday. I was upset since I had a contractor lined up to help me install them on Tuesday. Well, according to LL, nothing could be done. Well, yesterday, Saturday, came and went and I did not have the promised delivery! I contacted Fedex and even though they showed on their on-line tracking system that they were scheduled to deliver on Saturday, THAT WAS A LIE!!! I spoke to FedEx on Saturday at 4:00 pm and spoke to various individuals: Mr. Mario, and finally George, and they said that my product wasn't going to be delivered until next Tuesday. I escalated and George refused to transfer me to his boss. What a fiasco! Lots of promises, extra costs to have home delivery, and no one has delivered! LL: I think you owe me the extra shipping costs you charged me to have home delivery. Your promises for quicker delivery have not materialized. FedEx: Your service sucks. LL should employ UPS as their delivery service provider. read more

I strongly advise staying away from this business. After using them, I recommend forking up a a little more for better service and quality. It took us 3 months plus to get stair materials because employees kept messing up the order. And, at one point, wood was sent to us from the east coast DAMAGED. All of the problems we encountered with LL were unreal and their employees know it as well. We will not have good things to say about them to anyone looking for hard wood/laminate flooring. The floors are amazing and so beautiful however that manager Jason is a total asshole. I don't if it's his tone or what but we ended up leaving because of how we felt as he was trying to assist us. We tried to communicate there was a young lady name Melissa that was helpful and explained why we have to wait 6-8 weeks for an install when it was never mentioned to us in the beginning. We have had a negative experience there and it seems to be when Jason is around. I don't know who put him as manager but he does not have customer service skills whatsoever. The manager's customer service at this location is terrible. When I called to check the stock (because I was coming from over an hour and a half away) I was put on hold and no one came back to the phone. I called again and when I asked the employee to check stock the MANAGER told me she told me yesterday that they didn't have what I was looking for. I didn't speak with her nor anyone at that location yesterday. The manager shouldn't speak with anyone the way she spoke with me. Regardless of what is going on she needs to remain professional and set examples for her employees and make customers feel welcomed. Also, when I came to pick up the wood a very rude apology doesn't excuse her behavior. I will be contacting the district manager regarding this incident. read more

I'm very disappointed by the customer service at this store. First I was given the wrong sample of flooring to take home. After placing my order and repeating that the deliver had to be after 12pm,I get a call at 8am the truck is here to deliver. Since this is a second home more than an hour away I had to reschedule the delivery for another day. I had given them my cell number several times yet they keep calling my home number. The installer was in need of extra materials and the installing company called it in and asked me to pay for it. I left three messages at the store asking them to call me,so I could pay for the materials over the phone. I never received a phone call back and finally drove there to pick up the materials. read more

I'm having trouble (cupping) with a laminate that Lumber Liquidators installed( at a cost of around $9K) and the only thing they will do for me is a "store credit" for $300 for materials. I do not want any more of their materials since I think it is defective. They will not help pay for the repairs or removal of the defective parts. Do not use them!!!! Yelp filters bad reviews to make places seem better, how deceiving and dishonest. I am still in the middle of my purchase.... I originally purchased my floors from the Albany location. I went ahead and drove to Santa Rosa to pick our order up as they were the only warehouse with the floors in stock. After I brought these floors home and had our professional floor installers (have done multiple jobs for my family and friends) they were unable to nail the floors because of a manufacturing defect... I sent my workers home. We loaded the wood back into a borrowed truck and returned the wood to Albany at 5:45PM... Then was told again, we had to go pick up the new stuff in Santa Rosa by 7PM (ever heard of commute traffic??) After rushing up to Santa Rosa by closing (7PM), we were able to pick up the new floors. HERE IS WHERE IT GOT RIDICULOUS. LUMBER LIQUIDATORS SENT US HOME WITH 2 DIFFERENT TYPES OF HARDWOOD IN THE BOXES (NOT VISIBLE BECAUSE THEY ARE BOXED UP) We arranged for the installers to come back for the second time... And this is when Lumber Liquidators mistake was noticed. The installers opened a second box and realized we had 2 different types of floors. We called the Santa Rosa store... No one answered. We left a message. No return call. We called Albany, explained the issue. They were apologetic, however, all he was able to do was offer a "Cleaning Kit ($20 Value)" when I had spent $4k + on my order with them. The diesel gas and time wasted for labor is valued at over $500, not to mention my time, my gas, and wasted labor hours on a WEEKEND. I never once was rude, over talked the associates and all we asked for is for someone to make the SECOND ISSUE right. We are still waiting on a call back as the stores are now closed at 4:20PM on Saturday (12/3/2012). If no calls are returned and this is not made right for the customer, a charge back is in order... I will have no problem taking my business else where. The money I would have saved by purchasing from Lumber Liquidators was easily lost in Gas, time and labor costs for the installers. This company should be ashamed for its inability to COMMUNICATE and own up to its OWN MISTAKES. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL (NOT) GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...... read more
