This is by far the best reptile shop around. I've been driving here from Orange County for the past several months because of the outstanding service and genuine care they provide. Recently, one of our snakes passed away, and our other snake suddenly stopped eating. We were extremely worried. I called the shop and spoke with Anthony, the owner. Without hesitation, he told me to bring her in so he could take a look. As soon as we arrived, Anthony knew exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done. He took her in for rehabilitation for a week, and when I came back to pick her up, she was 100% better and back to her normal self. Anthony did all of this out of the kindness of his heart, and our family is incredibly grateful for his help and expertise. It's rare to find someone who genuinely cares not only about reptiles but also about the families who love them. The shop is always clean, the staff is friendly, and the service is professional. If you're looking for a reptile store you can trust, this is the place. I can't recommend Anthony and his team highly enough. read more

I was THRILLED when new ownership took place. The previous owner, Eric, was a big fan of anti-Semitic jokes so I took my business to R*ptile F*ctory, even though it's 5x the travel. They are phenomenal, btw. Went to give new ownership a go and they are almost as bad. I asked for medium pre-killed rats. I was told "oh there's been a law for two years now...that's illegal." (uh....then how do the frozen rats die?) Whatever, ok, I'll take the frozen. What I was given were the tiniest "medium rats" I've ever seen. I admit, my bad for not looking at them first before being placed in the paper bag. Also, I have NEVER not been asked "do you want to see how big they are?" first. Again, just terrible business practices here. They weighed in at 2.2 ounces. An AVERAGE sized medium rat should weigh in at 3.5 oz. They are claiming "it's been a law for 2 years that we can't pre-kill rats for you. We can sell them to you either alive or already frozen." Well, guess what kids. That isn't a thing. CA penal code section 597 (animal cruelty law) states that animals can be euthanized as long as the death is humane. (Humane is typically categorized as rapid unconsciousness and immediate death with as minimal pain as possible). The way rats are killed in a reptile shop is with a swift bop on the head. Which falls within that penal code. So, do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else for your feeders. read more

5 Stars for Bonnie, the lovely lady working yesterday evening when we visited! 4 Stars for the Store, 2 Stars for the location and outside surroundings.. My husband and I were in the area and wanted to see if this place was still in business before we headed home, we had a good time looking at all the different cool reptiles and bugs they had. We haven't been in there since we were kids but it still seems like the same store inside. We just went in there to looky-loo, I didn't pay attention to prices and we didn't buy anything. **Heads up though, this is not in a nice area at all and I would not bring my kids here because 2 shops to the left of them is a lingerie store (unavoidable to notice) and the mannequins in the window are very inappropriate! Which is so sad because in between this store and that one is a kids eye doctor. Nothing says Riverside like that picture.. :( read more

Horrible onboarding experience. My Herman tortoise when received was cold to the touch. There was no heat lamp to keep him warm even though they said they unplugged it. There was no water or food on his dish. I paid $38.00 with tax for this type of service? I am very disappointed as a customer and will not come back again. read more

This place has dirty cages, glass not clean. Bearded dragons cage has daddy long leg webs in them. There's a fridge in the store that has meal worms in them AND employees food! The fridge was so dirty we could barely handle knowing that the employees had food and drinks stored in it. 2 females were working at the time. Both nice and friendly. Standing behind the counter being helpful. If these were my employees, one can be at the register and one cleaning the cages and tending to the sales floor. NEW OWNERS! This place has definitely turned over a new leaf with the new owners. I grew up down the street from here and always loved coming to see what new additions they added. It feels good to see it coming back to its former glory. The place is clean, bright, and welcoming. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable on what they sell and how to care for your pets. The store clerk shows just as much interest in customers as my leopard gecko has in politics. Walked in looking to get some supplied for my tank, the woman at the desk didn't even look up from her phone until my family and I had already looked through the store's limited selection and miraculously managed to find something to buy. But let's be honest, this is a pet store. Most people are probably looking to buy their kid their first reptile. The animals on display had messy enclosures and excess waste piling up in the substrate in the tanks. I know I wouldn't want to get my son or daughter an animal from a place that can't afford to spend the time to care for the animals before they're sold. The fixture I purchased didn't end up being necessary so I went back to the store the following week to return it. The same clerk, I believe her name was Bonnie according to the receipt, was there again. She said she would only be able to give back store credit. What kinda place can't do a refund for a NEW and UNUSED product. If this place doesn't give you their time, you shouldn't give them your money. Take your business to a place that actually takes care of the basic needs of their animals and their customers. read more

Have been in here a few times within a year. They don't have as big of a selection as others, but they make up for it in how clean they keep the place and organized it is. All the reptiles are in good sized enclosures. Bearded Dragons, snakes, chameleons, tortoises, turtles, and others. Their staff is always very nice and helpful, even when I had a million questions. The best part, they can help you find a reptile and have it shipped to them. I got this handsome Leopard Gecko that they were able to help me find. Thank you so much Bonnie for putting up with me, I know you weren't there but he is very great looking. I'll post a picture as well. read more

The owner of the place has no customers service, he pretty much convinced me into buy stuff for my sick animal that I never even opened and didn't take it back even after he told me he would if my pet died the next day, my pet didn't even make it a couple hours and he wouldn't stick to verbal agreement, well needless to say I wont own another reptile more would I ever recommend this place. read more

I stopped by this shop because I happened to be in the area and it's hard for me to not check out a pet store. The majority of the animal's enclosures are dirty and have dead crickets sprawled across the rabbit pellets that ALL the animals are kept on. Rabbit pellets will mush together when wet and many of the tanks had dried up crusty pellets mixed in with the reptiles excrement. The large screened cages towards the front of the store housed a very sickly veiled chameleon who was surely living it's last few days. I have a strong feeling that a lot of the animals here have internal parasites as lethargy seemed to be a common trait amongst their offerings. This place needs a major cleaning. I would stop by Reptile Factory or Suncity Reptiles down the street instead. read more

Eric is the most knowledgeable person I've ever met and the animal care is absolutely awesome. Eric is literally just as good as a vet if not better. Bonnie is so fun and always patient and willing to help. The rats, crickets and other feeders are plump and healthy, and every time I have an issue with my animals, Eric always knows how to help me solve it! All the enclosures were bone dry, even for reptiles that require high humidity and moisture. Some had dishes that were full of dark yellow water. Just overall dirty setups and the store definitely smelled the part. Wasn't much enrichment for most of the reptiles either. read more
