We regularly attend this restaurant and have loved everything we've ordered, food and drinks.

We decided to take a drive and go somewhere new and I suggested this place. (Patting myself on the back). I wasn't a fan of the decor...it was modern with pics of famous Texans. It just felt stuffier than the restaurant should've been. But there was zero fault with the food or service. Started with coconut shrimp...cooked to perfection with a slightly different version of the regular dipping sauce. A version that definitely heightened the enjoyment. Very good. I got the chicken woodlands and uncharged my side to the tomato bisque which came with a little grilled cheese. One of the best tomato bisques I've ever had. And chicken woodlands was so good also. It really was tangy and balanced. The chicken had a great marinated grilled over fire taste too. I would get this again for sure. The hubby had the special of the day blackened fish and loved it. We shared a passion cake for dessert which was a cross between a red velvet and strawberry. It was excellent. We really had no complaints here. Highly recommend. read more

I've never had anything bad from The Republic Grille, I'm so glad they have opened this location closer to me. Nice spot for lunch in the Spring area. The outside patio was much appreciated during Covid. The food was great. We enjoyed the steak and avocado salad and the quinoa salad. Portions were big. Craig was our bartender and he was excellent at making drinks and in providing a good selection of food for someone like myself who is gluten free, dairy free, and tree nut free. He gave us several options and asked the cooks just to double check to make sure our food was what we needed and the plates of the Portabella mushroom and shrimp tacos turned out to be so excellent that I even forgot to take a picture. I looked up "best restaurants in Spring" and this looked perfect for my typical cravings. Decided to go last minute after a 2hour gym session and I was starving! We arrived right before last call and the kitchen closing. Our server, Kenneth, did a great job of reviewing the menu and getting us everything we wanted without rushing us through 3 courses at closing. He was so professional that I just knew he'd time everything perfectly. The food was perfect. Calamari was so tender. I couldn't have asked for more. I asked Kenneth to choose a drink for me and ironically it was just like one I make at home, which I'm obsessed with. He even told us the bar was closing ahead of time to preorder dessert cordials, along with a perfect recommendation for Godiva liqueur with dessert. From the moment we parked, we knew this was the place to be! The outdoor and indoor seating was filled with good smells and joyful sounds. We were seated fairly quickly. Our waitress, Katie was cheerful and knew the menu as well as house favorites! We enjoyed the onion rings as appetizer. The salmon wa great. And true to Katie's recommendation, the peach cobbler was star of the show! We celebrated a great 2 year Anniversary! The manager was kind enough to come out and meet us and even ensure our wonderful dessert was comped. We will definitely be back! read more

This Republic Grille is excellent. We had a reservation at 6 PM, and although the restaurant was packed, we were seated immediately in the booth that I had requested. The food was quite good; I had the Republic Salad which comes with grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, strawberries, feta cheese, and spiced pecans. The chicken was flavorful and moist and the greens crisp and fresh. I requested grapes and cranberries which were added without extra charge. My husband loved the chicken and sausage gumbo with crawfish. The meat portions were generous and the roux was perfect--just enough spice to be delightful. I wasn't a fan of the spinach and artichoke dip (too soupy and very little artichoke), but I am still giving this restaurant five stars because the service was superb. The hostesses were organized and congenial, and Carson, our waiter, was perfect despite being very busy and running several tables. He was charming, attentive, and friendly but not intrusive. In addition, I give kudos to Carson--and to the kitchen staff--because our food orders were accurate--all modifications were perfectly executed. We eat out almost every day, and this restaurant could give some of its competitors a lesson in providing top notch customer service. read more

Food is good. Service is good. Prices are "fine dining" prices and the restaurant is no "Perry's". The ribeye was not great, however, the kid sirloin steak we ordered my 5 year old was good. Way better than the ribeye. Portions are a nice size, (well mostly), and anything else we have tried in the past has been great, but they are still way overpriced. My problem with this place is... Once I went to order to-go soup... my two bowls of soup were $40!!!!! When I called and made the order, the server taking my order asked me if I wanted shrimp in my gumbo (I've always had shrimp in my gumbo) and I said yes. He did not tell me it would be an up-charge. To my surprise it was a RIDICULOUS up charge. This put a bad taste in my mouth (pun not intended), so we did not go back for months. This last time we went, we were up charged THREE TIMES without the server telling us it would be an up charge. That is so sneaky and scandalous and frankly, that up charge came out of his tip. Had he warned us before that it was an up charge, we would have still ordered it, and wouldn't have taken it out of his trip. I used to wait tables - all through college - and it is a common courtesy to warn the customer it will be an up charge. ESPECIALLY IF THE SERVER IS OFFERING THE ITEM. For the first up charge I saw on the bill, was for the extra olives I asked for my martini. They gave me 3 extra olives and charged me $3 for extra olives. What in the actual ?!? I HAVE NEVER been charged for extra olives for my martinis or bloody Mary's at any establishment. One of their Tito martinis alone cost the same amount as a small bottle of Tito's at the liquor store across the street. The next time, the server offered my husband a choice on his entree. My husband picked his choice, and we were up charged. Not realizing it was an up charge, because when he explained the $35 special of the day, he failed to mention that he was also including a topping in his "speech" the was not include in the $35, tiny piece of salmon. Then, we ordered dessert to go, and the server asked us if we would like to have the glaze on top of it. Not telling us it would be an up charge, well it was. And the way the server worded these things, was sneaky. In no way, did it seem they would be up charges. Oh yeah, and my husbands glass of wine was the same price as the same wine for the whole bottle across the street at H‑E‑B. I mean, come on. I get alcohol is marked up a lot, again, I worked at restaurants all through college. By $14 for one glass of "cheap" wine? We walked out with a $200 tab for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 kids meals, 2 alcoholic beverages, and 1 dessert. $200 for that food is just not worth it. Two times in a row this has happened to us. We Love Republic! We have been many times for multiple occasions! On our first visit I asked how the chicken woodlands was and the waitress recommended it but to order it with spinach and on top of noodles. Now I can't order it any other way. It's the most incredible pasta! We love the grilled chicken wings as well! My kids love the Mac n cheese and the kids steak! The coconut shrimp is delicious too! We have tried many of the appetizers and everything has been tasty! The tacos can be super spicy sometimes and sometimes not. We've heard from a little bird that works there, that if the line cooks are in a bad mood or arguing... they make the salsa extra spicy! read more

I came In with high hopes for this place. I had heard nothing but great things from fellow neighbors. We tried it and was greeted by the server. Checked out the menu but did t see it listed what they had to drink. He asked the servers what they had and he looked at us dumbfounded. He pointed at the machine but we really couldn't see until we got up. My wife always orders her meat well done. I eat it however it comes out even though I ask for it well done. We had to send my wife's tray back which the server didn't like. He wasn't creating that enjoyable experience for us. The manager was ok. She brought out my wife's tray after it was cooked some more. We were in there on January 1. 2022. We heard good things about it from our neighbors in Harmony. So we finally b decided to try. As a family of six of course I always do see how kid friendly the place will be and treatment . From the moment we stepped foot the hostess was very inattentive with us. No greet and seemed very unhappy. I had to ask her if we sat ourselves or she gave us a table. Then she answered she would get a table . At the table no menus were given . Then Kolin K was our waiter. No greet and plain blunt. Hoping for a better customer service, it was a fail once more. Instead of handing out the napkins given to us he threw the napkins individually on the table to us! At that moment I feel very disrespectful but kept it going . Even though we all looked at each other like what did he just do. I mean we had napkins flying on my end of the table to catch ! Then I asked what drinks were available (non alcoholic) Kolin asked if we wanted a menu . Which we should of had just got one .to begin with . We were all given a menu with only alcoholic beverages including for the kids . I had to look at their fountain drink machine to choice what options we had. Kolin was sure it was on the menu. He seemed frustrated for no reason. He then contradicted himself that it wasn't and said it's Pepsi products . To end it with I ordered sirloin and clearly asked very bell done and no red meat. Not trying to be difficult but it grosses me out to have chewy red meat . It makes me sick to my stomach. Of course I had to send it back to the kitchen . Brought back and still the same . I just didn't eat it . I'm hoping if we do decide to give them another chance this improves. Within staff wanted to be there , being friendly and courteous. Today a group of friends visited the Spring Texas location as we have done many times in the past. Once we were seated, we were informed that it was current policy to NOT split checks for larger groups. We have dined in this location many times with various size groups over the years and this has never been an issue, but something has changed. Needless to say we were forced to leave the restaurant. If this was a deliberate policy change, it was not well thought out. Needless to say, The Republic Grille has lost a group of frequent diners. read more
