This was our first time here. The food is good. The nachos were well served. My shrimp was yummy and my husband's salad looked good. The smores dessert was yummy as well. That being said, we wanted any other table than the one we were offered. I especially wanted a booth so I could put my purse down. It was not possible, there were other tables available, and there was a booth available, but because of a waiter situation, they wanted us to sit at one specific table, a round one right at the entrance. We froze. Every time door was opened, cold air would hit us. I had to go to the car to get something to cover up my daughter's legs. To make matters worse, 10 minutes later someone came in and asked for a booth and they DID give them a booth. I had to order coffee before I was finished eating I was so cold. Coffee was cold too. Don't get me wrong, hostess and waitress were nice. It is just that we had such a simple request that would have stopped us from having an uncomfortable meal, and no effort was made. read more

Soooo happy! Food is great! And drinks are great too. Came on the second day of opening. At 7. Waited 45min for a table got seated and the food came fast. The atmosphere here is great. Everything seemed good at the start. Then we went to order food. Out of steak. Out of salmon. Out of wings. Out of shrimp. Out of some Cabernets. They were out of everything we went to order. The server could not have been more kind and sweet. She said it was because they run out of a lot of things on Saturday nights so Sundays they're just out. Well, I did a quick review of the comments on this restaurant and this is apparently a running theme. 1. Shame on me for not checking the comments before we came, 2. Shame on them for not resolving this clearly on-going issue. I know times are tough, but just close on Sunday nights if you cannot have more product delivered. We went in a couple of weeks ago and the food was great, but we ordered the Brussels sprouts and there were only 7 total. For $12. I was slightly annoyed and probably should have just said something nicely. Brussels sprouts just aren't worth over $1 each, no matter how tasty the topping is. Our other food was tasty. read more

It must have been an off night for The Republic tonight. There was a short wait list. We ordered our beverages and they were good. From there it was not positive. We ordered queso. 20 minutes later the waitress came and told us they were out of chips. We ordered chicken fried steak (no veggies) and it came served with veggies on top of the mashed potatoes. We understand it's all made from scratch but it was a lot of time from when we ordered to when the meals were brought to our table. My husband's Caesar salad with blackened shrimp was good. The waitress came by infrequently and our water glasses were empty most of the meal. They did comp our queso and dessert. They were out of marshmallows for our dessert choice. We went to Republic on Saturday night after a neighbor recommended it on our FB page. The hosts were very sweet and friendly, and our server was so patient and thankful we were checking them out. We ordered the queso, which was yum! They don't give you a lot of chips at first, but they refill the bowl. We also ordered the nachos for an appetizer, which my house loved. In addition, we got the shrimp salad (no jalapeños and pickled red onion on mine) and my husband has the burger. We were both very pleased. Nice selection of craft beers. So glad to have a new go-to jaunt within 5 minutes away. read more

I really wanted to like this place - good looking restaurant, good menu and nice folks serving. And the food was good and prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, they were so understaffed and who they had working were so lost (or new) that it just made for a poor evening. So bad that we probably won't come back. Again, the food was good (although not hot in one case) but it and drinks took forever to get out. And this was a weeknight with only 75% crowd. Too bad. This place used to be pretty good. They offered some sort of southwest seasoned tots with their meals and those were good and unique. Now it's potato chips or pay $2.50 to upgrade to crappy frozen fries. No tots. The prices are already high, so up charging for fries is a bad business move. Especially low quality frozen fries. Some of the food is ok, but dadgum it's expensive for basic meals. read more

We ran in here for appetizers on the way to a Christmas Party. Really neat atmosphere. Mo, the bartender, told us they are the same owners as Foxhole. In Leander? HELL Yeah! We made it! I had prosecco and you can't go wrong there. Husband had a smoked whiskey, and it was great and super unique. Nachos were DELISH and the jalapeno wrapped cream cheese was great. Ok mixed review here. Service was great menu looked amazing. My wife ordered the buffalo chicken salad and it was so spicy she couldn't eat it. My daughter ordered the wings)not buffalo)and she couldn't eat them either they were so spicy. We bout flavorful and spicy food but this was over the top. They both can handle spice. This was miserable. We told them and they didn't do anything not that I expected a free meal but replace it maybe considering two meals out of five weren't edible. Our server otherwise did a great job. We won't order those items again there but will likely go back and give it another go. I would still recommend people giving it a good try read more

Ordered the chicken sandwich and honestly it was great until I got to the bottom of the second piece of chicken and it was completely raw. I almost threw up because I was worried how much raw chicken I had eaten. I wish I would've take a picture but I got so grossed out I tossed it immediately. The Peel 'n Eat Shrimp were fresh and seasoned just right...therefore, the 3 stars! Ambiance is fine but the service was awful! Forgotten food, drinks etc! After a hard day of work, me and my family decided to go out to a new restaurant that we've never been to before, and this was definitely worth coming to. The waiters and staff are well trained, and the food is definitely of good quality. If you just want some good old fashion American food this place is a must. We randomly walked in here 2 months ago on date night and keep coming back for the menu, atmosphere and staff. And they have a chilton on the menu! My only complaint would be that I wish every kid menu item didn't only come with the option of tator tots as a side. Came here for an early dinner the other day and enjoyed our experience! They were out of a few menu items but our server was fantastic with recommending other options. We had Father's Day brunch here and it was such a bad experience! Menu and table were sticky and dirty. The service was awful, incredibly slow and inattentive. The Big Bend sandwich had cold wet eggs and overly sweet pulled pork smothered in cold bbq sauce. The Barnyard Fowl sandwich was a very thin piece of chicken, thick end cuts of tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and one small fried onion. The Big Bend was inedible. Neither of these sandwiches matched the menu descriptions. The server didn't come back until 15 mins after we got our food and we didn't want to wait for more bad food and service so we asked for the ticket. I had to ask a second time for the ticket. There were lots of staff and a manager walking around so it was really disappointing that our server was in the weeds and didn't ask others to help/no one stepped up to help. We saw the server return at least 3 other full plates of food to the kitchen after serving them to other tables so clearly we weren't the only unhappy customers. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because the bruschetta app was yummy. read more

I have been to this location once before, I had a beer while I waited for my food to be ready at another restaurant (that had no bar). The bar service was good. I was looking forward to coming to have dinner. When we arrived tonight, we stood and waited for almost 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us. More than a few servers passed by, made no eye contact, said nothing to us. A lady that seemed like she might be the hostess came to the desk, grabbed a spray bottle to clean a table, said nothing, and left. After cleaning her table, she went to another part of the restaurant, never came back. They had several tables open, it wasn't that we would have been waiting anyway. Had someone at least said "hi, give us a moment", we may have stayed. We walked out. We will likely not come back. read more

Super dissatisfied. We live close to the restaurant and want to support this business. We have been to the restaurant twice in a week and a half. First time , they said ....hey kitchen closes at 9 it's 840..... they acted like they didn't want the business. We talked our way in . Last night - a Friday night -showed up at 835 ..... got another excuse of hey we dont have staff - kitchen is closed and you can't sit at a table. We sit at the bar - they never cleaned it from previous patrons . The bar service was bad / slow . They brought out queso no warning of hit plate - my husbands arm gets burned!!!! Recently moved to the area, so thought this place might become my go-to watering hole. Food was good, but the bartenders seemed as if they didn't want to be there, or be bothered. The female bartender (with heavier build) seemed to have a disdain for customers as she showed up for her shift in a pissy mood, which sucked the life out of the room. I know everyone has an off day, so I gave the place another shot a week after for happy hour. The same bartender was there from before and it felt as if she just wanted me to leave. During COVID, take out has been hit or miss at most places. This was a major HIT. I had been wanting to try this place for a bit, after reading all the amazing reviews I decided I would try. I ordered the nachos w/carne asada. Nachos as take out is risky....I live 20 min away in each direction. The chance of nachos surviving 40 min of sit time is minimal. Not only did my nachos survive, they were amazing. The jalapenos were so spicy and the queso was on the side so it didn't get mushy. The pickled onion on top was just perfect flavor. I took my family here for dinner recently. The person at the front door was apathetic, and borderline rude. My wife's steak was ordered medium rare, and came out well done. When we asked for it to be fixed the recook came out cold and cut into tiny strips, in something that felt very passive aggressive by the kitchen staff. My chicken sandwich was also over cooked, not char grilled but rather a charcoal briquet. I was starving so I ate it, but it was disappointing. At no point did a manager, even with the recook, check on us. On the plus side the fries where great, and the kids loved the macaroni and cheese, quesadillas, and tots. The ambience is very nice, and our server was lovely. Hopefully they improve the grill cooks, because it will be a while until we try this place again. read more

Our good friends brought us here for brunch, when we visited from Kalifornia . Both the food and service were excellent. I had the Heart of Texas waffle which was light , fluffy and delicious. We also ordered Cowboy's Breakfast and the My Egg's Live in Texas, and a couple refreshing mimosas, which were all very tasty. Looking forward to coming back the next time we're in town. read more
