The owner is very friendly and always tells me to stay and "relax" in the massage chair. I have been a customer for the past 8 years, and I will only get my manicure and pedicure done at The Retreat Nails and Spa. Love! Love! Love! I got out of work early and wanted to get my nails done. I live less than 3 minutes from here, and unfortunately had never seen the location. I found it on yelp when I looked up shops near me. Fortunately they had space for me even though I did not have a reservation. But I would recommend a reservation as there is only 3 people there and only 1 does nails. I was attended to quickly and given the colors to pick from. I noticed that the nail techs are quite attentive and do not rush through the work. I absolutely love my dio nails and most def will be returning with my mom. I travel all the way to Katy from the City of Bellaire to do my nails so trust me when I say this place is good. The prices for the area are very reasonable and highly competitive. The only cons I must mention is they do not have a large selection of dip colors to pick from. Also I feel that the shop is a bit outdated for the area it is in. I had an early appointment and maybe I wasn't clear with what I wanted but I just wanted a French acrylic manicure which they said would be $40 but I guess since I didn't want certain tips is went to $65... then it was an extra $5 for "coffin" nails. I was having a hard time picking a color bc the dip she used over the acrylic was translucent so the tips just didn't look right and the manicurist was becoming visibly annoyed I couldn't choose a color. My pinky nail is visibly shorter than the rest as well and had to defile my thumb myself because it was crooked. It's been a week since I got my nails done and I've hated them every day I've had them and now the paint is peeling. I got my toes done and it was quick and what I wanted so for that 2 stars. $90 down the drain, I would get a refund if I could but I paid cash. read more

So I would give a solid 5 stars for the pedicure HOWEVER, nails I would never go here again. For a first time visitor, I called and asked in advance how much for dip and was told 35$. That was a lie after service was finished. Mary added additional fees because I used my natural nails instead of adding tips. She said the price would increase because of the shape I already had for the past 3 years and because my natural nails are long. Also during the service she messed up the natural shape I had on 3 of my nails and I had to keep correcting her. So Issa no for me on nails here again. The ladies who worked with me were incredibly kind. Their service deserves 5 stars. However, the cleanliness, quality, and craftsmanship are lacking. There are only about 25-30 options for dip nails. The dip wasn't applied correctly so my nails looked lumpy. There are no bags for pedicures. Your feet go right into the bins. The lady ensured me of their cleanliness but I would have preferred the extra security. None of the tools were bagged and few were sprayed with antiseptic before being used on my feet. I watched as she mixed remover into the nail polish bottle to increase the amount of polish in the bottle for my pedicure. Same for the top coat for my dip nails. After 18 hours or so, a nail has chipped. I specifically asked for tips on my nails because I am traveling and wanted to prevent this. But she told me that she didn't think I should cut my nails down to add tips. While that was very kind (and I should have emphasized my insistence) it is also a bit annoying that now I am traveling abroad with a chipped nail on Day One. TLDR; the staff is very kind! Be weary of sanitation and quality. read more

So I went in for a full set and pedicure and asked for an ombré with two nails a simple design. Let's start off with how the owner who did my nails tried to spend over 10 minutes convincing me NOT to get ombré until the point I literally had to tell her "um I want a specific design for a special occasion." She messed up and kept going over my nails, made them super thick and the lines are crooked THEN had the nerve to cut me. They also don't use plastic bags in there pedicure sinks which is not sanitary. I should've known by coming in when I didn't see no one in there. So many five star reviews on here are misleading. I usually get my nails done in San Diego, California. This place was the best nail salon that I have ever been to. The price was only $20 for a pedicure. As a man, nail salons usually rip me off, thinking that they can skip over a lot of the features that women usually get offered. My favorite nail salon in the city went under new management so I was desperate to find a new one. After many reviews, this was by far the most affordable option for a quick fix. I called right when they opened for some pricing the the lady who answered was very kind. She was nice enough to suggest I make a reservation because it would be busy. Good thing I did! I came with 2 other girlfriends, and there were only 3 ladies working. I was a little frustrated that it took a while for us to all be able to get our services done because of the lack of staff, but they were all so nice it didn't matter. There was a great color selection, and they had a great selection of Zoya colors. My manicure was more than my pedicure ($25 and yes, it was shellac), but it was missing something I believe the owner did it and she seemed a little rushed because they got busy by the time she worked on them. I realized that they didn't even cut my cuticles which is the main reason why I get a manicure in the first place. The lady who did my pedicure (for only $20 at that!) was so so great. She was thorough and took her time. You got oil, hot stone, and a small lotion calf massage. Very happy! I did realize that they didn't cut my cuticles which bothers me now... This is one of my favorite nail salons in Houston! This business offers such a reasonably priced pedicure at $20 that includes a hot stone massage that is like heaven on earth! The techs are SO detailed and provide such great service. Their cuticle work is superb. I take my husband here because they're skilled at preventing in-growns. My hubby's are toe nails are very difficult to cut due to they way they grow, yet they were able to cut all the sides without any pain, blood or swelling. This feat in itself has proven their skill level to me. I also love their $25 shellac service. The manicurists are just ask skilled and detail oriented as the pedicurists. You also get a nice little hand and arm massage at the end, which is a nice touch. My only gripe is that they don't have as wide of a color selection as I would prefer. But they seem to be open to suggestions, so I wouldn't be surprised to see their polish collection and variety grow in the coming months. Highly recommend this place! read more

I brought this to her attention and she assured me that this would smooth out once she put on the top coat and it did....for exactly one day. I noticed my nail bubbling up today and now it's popped! I have a hole in my shellac! Will never be back again for shellac nails. ----- First time. I got a refill and regular pedi. Regular pedi was great . For everyone living close to this nail spa, Linda the manager is the naturist owner I ever met. Her prices are over the moon and she allows her workers to treat the customers the nasty way she treats them. She did my nails and I went back because there was a line going through and she started screaming at me. People might not read reviews but I need to stress that their customer service is terrible. Her prices are too high and attitude is truly terrible. Glad I am a New Yorker and I gave it back but she screamed in front of her staff and other customers. Retreat, I do not think so.
