So vacationing in Providence, Rhode Island, looking for breakfast before heading into Newport, right next to my hotel, The Rhody Hen Café, located in a strip mall this cute little establishment came highly recommended from the Yelp community here in Rhode Island, me the wife, daughter and granddaughter stepped on in only to be told 25 minute wait no problems took our name and phone number and the wait started, five minutes later we had a table! Walked into a cozy cute very busy restaurant, greeted within two minutes, took our Beverage order and was off, They specialize in bloody Mary's mimosas as well as special coffees very nice, back in three minutes with the drinks, taking the order and she was off I must say the waitress is very nice very polite and very efficient! that being said within 10 minutes. The main courses arrived looking fantastic. I didn't post any pictures this time cause looking at the plates from the reviews on Yelp it's basic eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes on a plate no special garnishes so I apologize in advance for that however, the food was fantastic. Everything was hot. My only gripe was being from Rhode Island and the Portuguese community being very relevant here they serve Portuguese chorizo and my wife ordered this and it was quite dry not juicy at all. That was a bummer coming from Florida, You can't get it! everything else was phenomenal I must say this was a great experience and if you're ever in the area for a great breakfast and you want to stay away from the chain restaurants that serve breakfast check out The Rhody you won't be disappointed I have spoken...

Didn't realize there was more than one location and was pleasantly surprised to realize there was one in North Providence. The food was great! The waffles were nice and fluffy. They had a special for a shrimp eggs Benedict and it was amazing! I had never considered that combination together and it was so good. I would definitely come back. One thing to consider is that the seating on the inside is quite small and depending on where you're sitting, you feel like you're right on top of the table next to you. Some of the booths are completely wood so it's not the most comfortable, but we would definitely return for the food! Be prepared to have a little bit of a weight again because the seating area is not that large. Great parking.

My first time at this location and it's the same friendly service and good food as the others. Family friendly and always packed. Great spot for brunch.

What a gem! The service here is top-notch--friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. You can tell the team genuinely cares about making sure every guest has a great experience. I ordered the eggs, bacon, home fries, and French toast, and everything was spot on. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crispy, the home fries had that perfect golden crunch, and the French toast... fluffy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you want to linger over your coffee and enjoy every bite. If you're looking for a cozy spot with great food and great people, The Rhody Hen Café is a must-visit!

Oh gosh... The Rhody Hen Cafe is PERFECT!!! You might have to wait (as with any great restaurant) BUT IT'S WORTH IT! Service was perfect, and the recommended "Loaded Chilli Skillet" was so unusual and delicious! Oh yes, you gotta get the freshly squeezed orange juice. And that crazy grilled blueberry muffin is nuts too. SO GOOD! Ooooo, that Benny looked awesome too. The menu variety means you'll find what you're looking for, and maybe try something new too! My kids have a brunch date here almost every Friday, and I can understand why. I wish we had a Rhody Hen in White Rock back home! So, don't think twice. Just get down to The Rhody Hen!

I visited the Rhody Hen for breakfast with my boyfriend. It was a busy weekend morning there, so we were more than happy to sit at their bar. The servers were so friendly. This really seemed like a cute little place. There's plenty of parking since it is in a plaza with a lot of other businesses. I ordered an omelette and my boyfriend ordered the short rib Benedict. We both had coffee. The portions were generous and everything was very good! Service was great! We will definitely be back in the future!

We've been to Rhody Hen a number of times and each time is always just as good as the last. The consistency in flavor and service is amazing. This place is always packed so we never even attempt parking in the lot, we always park on the street. We stopped by Saturday around 1145 and it was a 25/30 min wait. I ordered the steak tip benedict and fiance ordered the classic benedict. Both come with home fries and I'm very picky with my home fries cause I feel like most breakfast spots make them too soggy, but Rhody Hen's home fries are PERFECT. A mix of crispy skin with soft inside, amazing! Truly one of my favorite breakfast spots in RI!

If I could give 10 stars I would!! My husband and I love the Rhody Hen!! We normally go to the Pawtucket location but we tried out North Providence this time and it was just as good! Highly recommend. Good coffee, good drinks, good food, friendly staff, and a great ambiance! Check it out!!

They have 8 Eggs Benedict options! Habanero benny was very good but spicy. . Legit. Good food and service. They have 3 locations around Providence and do not take reservations. this place is worth a try.

When we discovered most of Rhode Island was closed down fornthe holiday, what a treat to find this place open for a delicious brunch! Super friendly service and delicious food to boot. A feeling of a small town eatery with a welcoming vibe. Go check it out!

The weekdays are easier to get a table or bar seat. I love all the burgers, wings, hot dogs and shakes (Boozy or regular). Cons: I basically love everything on the menu EXCEPT the crinkle fries and the taco salad. (The crinkle fires I never liked but I am starting to see them more in some bars. They seem to not as crunchy as the regular fries and hold more grease including being more mushy then crunchy as mentioned before. The taco is like a Salsa salad which greens and Salsa. The taste is not bad but it becomes a wet salad). Pros: Everything else on the menu fantastic! My favorites: Turkey burger , mushroom burger, providence burger bar special, chili cheese hot dog, fried Mac and cheese, Strawberry Shake with a frozen fruit INCLUDING the Garlic Parmesan Buffalo wings. The only place I know can do hot dogs this great besides wieners from Olneyville and Babbas! Service: Incredible and friendly service. Only on the weekends service becomes wicked busy due to the number of crowds. One of my other favorite spots! :-)

Chomp is one of those Providence restaurants that I keep finding myself coming back to, even after…read moretelling myself I should probably try something else on the menu. I've eaten my way through quite a few things here over the years, and while there are plenty of good choices, I keep coming back to the Smokey and the Bandit smash burger. At this point, I probably know what I'm ordering before I even sit down. There's just something about that combination that keeps winning. The food here is consistently good. Everything I've had has been fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the kitchen seems to have that part figured out without making a big production of it. The menu has enough variety that you can come in with different appetites and still find something you want, but it doesn't feel like one of those places with a menu the size of a small novel where you need twenty minutes just to decide what you're looking at. The beer selection is another reason I enjoy Chomp. There's enough variety to make choosing a beer part of the experience rather than simply grabbing whatever happens to be on tap. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, which is increasingly something I notice because restaurant prices have a funny way of creeping upward when you're not paying attention. The location is another part of the appeal. Chomp sits in a great little part of Providence where you can easily make an evening out of being in the neighborhood. There are plenty of other restaurants, shops, and places to wander around nearby, so it doesn't feel like you're making a special trip just to eat and then immediately getting back in the car. Tonight, though, I have to give a special shout-out to Bella, who was our server. She was outstanding. Friendly, personable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. She suggested adding bacon to my Smokey and the Bandit, which I probably wouldn't have thought to do on my own. I'm very glad she mentioned it because it was an excellent call. Sometimes the best recommendations are the simple ones, and she nailed it. One piece of advice if you're planning on coming here: make a reservation if you can. Chomp can fill up quickly, and given how good the food is, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It's the kind of restaurant where people come back because they already know they're going to have a good meal, and I'm certainly part of that group. Five stars from me. Great food, good beer, reasonable prices, a fantastic Providence location, and genuinely good service. I've tried enough of the menu over the years to know that Chomp has plenty of options, but apparently I'm still incapable of walking through the door without ordering that Smokey and the Bandit. Add Bella's bacon recommendation to the list of reasons I'm going to keep coming back.

We both ordered the Classic Smash Burger, one with cheese and one without. Unfortunately, both burgers were utterly tasteless, with virtually no seasoning detected at all. The Chomp Sauce that was supposed to elevate the burger was so sparse it barely made an appearance, leaving the burgers bland. Honestly, the bun was the best part. The brussel sprouts I ordered also lacked flavor and seasoning aside from the char, and his Cajun fries were so salty they were nearly inedible. After driving from Massachusetts to Rhode Island as a special Mother's Day treat, it ended up being a very disappointing experience, especially given the overwhelmingly positive reviews. We may have caught them on an unusually busy night, but unfortunately our meals fell far short of our expectations.

The great thing is he describes the food so well that his descriptions are on point. For example, I didn't know what a cheese curd was so he described it... I was intrigued and decided to order it on the side and it was on point. He couldn't have described it better. I think that's really important in this industry... to be able to get accurate answers to Qs, especially when we're dabbling into something new. So my friend and I both got burgers. He got the dirty burger (with a dough boy on the side) and I got the big mac. I can't speak much for my friend's burger other than it looking and being HUGE and heavy... it was definitely protein heavy and I know he had to sit at home and enjoy it because it would've collapsed in his car lol. I, on the other hand, went to a park to sit outside and enjoy my "big mac." It was delicious. Nearly every aspect of it was seasoned and they worked well together... The mac n cheese was well cooked/seasoned, the breading used for it was seasoned well, the burger meat was not only well seasoned but also cooked exactly as I ordered it. A+!   I was so stuffed from the burger that I couldn't eat all my cheese curds. Fortunately, because they're "crunchier" than mozzarella sticks, I was able to enjoy the rest later when they were cold. I will DEFINITELY be going back to try out more of their menu items. A huge perk for me is their location (on Valley Street near Price Rite). I like how it's an easy to get to location with ample parking.  I literally cannot think of any cons. The only small "con" that I wouldn't take a star off is that the food was so good that I am confident people would definitely want to eat this food after a club/party yet this truck closes at 10 PM. Maybe in a few years they can extend employment to have someone take over the trunk in a night shift. I am confident business would be booming for them as their delicious food would help people sober up after a great night!!
