Delicious breakfast this morning. The server was the nicest server Ive had in a long time. The best part? The bill! A huge veggie omelet, home fries, toast and unlimited ice coffee refills, and tax came to $15.10! I haven't left a restaurant in a lonnnnggggg time after just throwing down a $20! Plenty of parking. So vacationing in Providence, Rhode Island, looking for breakfast before heading into Newport, right next to my hotel, The Rhody Hen Café, located in a strip mall this cute little establishment came highly recommended from the Yelp community here in Rhode Island, me the wife, daughter and granddaughter stepped on in only to be told 25 minute wait no problems took our name and phone number and the wait started, five minutes later we had a table! Walked into a cozy cute very busy restaurant, greeted within two minutes, took our Beverage order and was off, They specialize in bloody Mary's mimosas as well as special coffees very nice, back in three minutes with the drinks, taking the order and she was off I must say the waitress is very nice very polite and very efficient! that being said within 10 minutes. The main courses arrived looking fantastic. I didn't post any pictures this time cause looking at the plates from the reviews on Yelp it's basic eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes on a plate no special garnishes so I apologize in advance for that however, the food was fantastic. Everything was hot. My only gripe was being from Rhode Island and the Portuguese community being very relevant here they serve Portuguese chorizo and my wife ordered this and it was quite dry not juicy at all. Didn't realize there was more than one location and was pleasantly surprised to realize there was one in North Providence. The food was great! The waffles were nice and fluffy. They had a special for a shrimp eggs Benedict and it was amazing! I had never considered that combination together and it was so good. I would definitely come back. One thing to consider is that the seating on the inside is quite small and depending on where you're sitting, you feel like you're right on top of the table next to you. Some of the booths are completely wood so it's not the most comfortable, but we would definitely return for the food! Oh gosh... The Rhody Hen Cafe is PERFECT!!! You might have to wait (as with any great restaurant) BUT IT'S WORTH IT! Service was perfect, and the recommended "Loaded Chilli Skillet" was so unusual and delicious! Oh yes, you gotta get the freshly squeezed orange juice. And that crazy grilled blueberry muffin is nuts too. SO GOOD! Ooooo, that Benny looked awesome too. The menu variety means you'll find what you're looking for, and maybe try something new too! We've been to Rhody Hen a number of times and each time is always just as good as the last. The consistency in flavor and service is amazing. This place is always packed so we never even attempt parking in the lot, we always park on the street. We stopped by Saturday around 1145 and it was a 25/30 min wait. I ordered the steak tip benedict and fiance ordered the classic benedict. Both come with home fries and I'm very picky with my home fries cause I feel like most breakfast spots make them too soggy, but Rhody Hen's home fries are PERFECT. The restaurant itself is small, comfy and it looks like a table or two up to 6 could work. There's also bar stools. It's laid out well! One regret I have was the black carry out plastic containers. You'll have to look up what it is; it's not good and I imagine cheap. The food was so good, I'd pay an extra $1.00 or two for compostable or heavier plastic carry out containers. I'd pay a $5.00 or more deposit for metal or glass that I could trade in (clean). You gotta go! Eat in if you can, or carry out not far for a yummy hot meal! read more

We have been here a handful of times now. There is a large lot so parking is not an issue. It's a small place so Definitely get there before nine if you have a time crush. The place is clean , you can eat off the floor ! The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. It's a huge menu so something for everyone. I go with my old faithful ... bacon eggs and cheese on a bagel. It's Delcious. Cooked perfectly and fresh. Home fries on the side were excellent. I can't say enough great things about this place. From The waitresses that are always so sweet and attentive to the cleanliness of the place it's become one of my fav breakfast spots. I've never been disappointed with a meal there everything is always so delicious and so fresh with big portions. I highly recommend getting the grilled corn muffin it is by far the best corn muffin I've ever had! The Benedicts are my favorite and we also tried the loaded chilli skillet and it was so good and the fresh chips were even better! First review for me for 2024 and it was a good one! I went for lunch today with my mom - I live like a mile away and didn't even realize that this place was here. It was nice and quiet - I think most people were back at work today. The place is super cute inside - small but feels big. I forgot I had checked the menu last night, opened the menu when i sat and saw it and thought "that's right - a Cuban. A cozy brunch spot with parking? We'll be there! We came on a grey rainy weekend and were greeted with warm service and great food. I had the smoked rib benny which I would highly recommend as the ribs were fall off the bone tender. My boyfriend had the hanger steak omlette and was satisfied by the medium rare steak and the size of the portion.
