Delicious breakfast this morning. The server was the nicest server Ive had in a long time. The best part? The bill! So vacationing in Providence, Rhode Island, looking for breakfast before heading into Newport, right next to my hotel, The Rhody Hen Café, located in a strip mall this cute little establishment came highly recommended from the Yelp community here in Rhode Island, me the wife, daughter and granddaughter stepped on in only to be told 25 minute wait no problems took our name and phone number and the wait started, five minutes later we had a table! Walked into a cozy cute very busy restaurant, greeted within two minutes, took our Beverage order and was off, They specialize in bloody Mary's mimosas as well as special coffees very nice, back in three minutes with the drinks, taking the order and she was off I must say the waitress is very nice very polite and very efficient! that being said within 10 minutes. The main courses arrived looking fantastic. I didn't post any pictures this time cause looking at the plates from the reviews on Yelp it's basic eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes on a plate no special garnishes so I apologize in advance for that however, the food was fantastic. Everything was hot. My only gripe was being from Rhode Island and the Portuguese community being very relevant here they serve Portuguese chorizo and my wife ordered this and it was quite dry not juicy at all. Didn't realize there was more than one location and was pleasantly surprised to realize there was one in North Providence. The food was great! The waffles were nice and fluffy. They had a special for a shrimp eggs Benedict and it was amazing! I had never considered that combination together and it was so good. I would definitely come back. One thing to consider is that the seating on the inside is quite small and depending on where you're sitting, you feel like you're right on top of the table next to you. Some of the booths are completely wood so it's not the most comfortable, but we would definitely return for the food! We've been to Rhody Hen a number of times and each time is always just as good as the last. The consistency in flavor and service is amazing. This place is always packed so we never even attempt parking in the lot, we always park on the street. We stopped by Saturday around 1145 and it was a 25/30 min wait. I ordered the steak tip benedict and fiance ordered the classic benedict. Both come with home fries and I'm very picky with my home fries cause I feel like most breakfast spots make them too soggy, but Rhody Hen's home fries are PERFECT. OMG!!! I got food to go and it was Amazing!! Not only were the eggs fresh and the bacon cooked perfectly, they actually had gluten free ( GF ) French toast!! So Yum!!!! I only imagine the food would have been even more yummy on a plate, at a table in this sweet cafe. I drove 10 minutes away and the food was still hot! Staff were kind, efficient and attentive. The restaurant itself is small, comfy and it looks like a table or two up to 6 could work. There's also bar stools. It's laid out well! One regret I have was the black carry out plastic containers. You'll have to look up what it is; it's not good and I imagine cheap. The food was so good, I'd pay an extra $1.00 or two for compostable or heavier plastic carry out containers. I'd pay a $5.00 or more deposit for metal or glass that I could trade in (clean). You gotta go! Eat in if you can, or carry out not far for a yummy hot meal! read more

We have been here a handful of times now. There is a large lot so parking is not an issue. It's a small place so Definitely get there before nine if you have a time crush. The place is clean , you can eat off the floor ! The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. It's a huge menu so something for everyone. It was nice and quiet - I think most people were back at work today. The place is super cute inside - small but feels big. Quick friendly service from our server who I now realize I didn't get the name of. My bad. I forgot I had checked the menu last night, opened the menu when i sat and saw it and thought "that's right - a Cuban. I absolutely love this place. Every Friday I go with my 89-year-old friend for breakfast . Mary is our waitress we have grown very fond of her as soon as she sees us coming she sets up a table for us with coffee and my water. When we walk in all the waitresses notice my friend is a Vietnam vet and they find the easiest place for him to sit and cater to him and make him feel special. Every week we usually have the same thing he has sausage and eggs and I have hash and eggs the hash is out of this world the home fries out of this world everything is absolutely delicious. A cozy brunch spot with parking? We'll be there! We came on a grey rainy weekend and were greeted with warm service and great food. I had the smoked rib benny which I would highly recommend as the ribs were fall off the bone tender. My boyfriend had the hanger steak omlette and was satisfied by the medium rare steak and the size of the portion.
