Single French toast - simple yet delicious

Great place for delicious simple breakfast! The inside is a cozy diner style small but perfect place. Coffee is solid. Home made hash is really a must have! Very flavorful. Definitely recommend and plan to return to try other dishes.

The best kinds of places are where the staff know people's names. There were like 3 regulars in there this morning who the staff knew on a first name business so I immediately knew I was in good hands. Food was good, coffee was hot. Great spot!

Well my experience at OV was a good, but interesting one. The waiter came over, followed by this lady. He was really nice and doing a fine job, but this lady, whom might have been an/the owner followed his every move. I guess he'd been working there for a while, but was new to taking orders. This same lady shouted demands at the kitchen, from the kitchen and whoever. The food was good. It's a nice breakfast place. We came in at around 8am on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. I got an apple juice and it came in the biggest glass, which I highly appreciated. Most places serve juice in these tiny glasses, so it was a nice change. I got a simple breakfast. Pancakes, sausage, home fries and apple juice. It was all good. Prices were decent as well. The place we wanted to go to was closed, so this was a good alternative. There's some sketchy parking and this place is seriously tiny. Not sure what the peak hours are and haven't tried anything else but breakfast. Place closes at 3pm. So breakfast and lunch only.

Visited Ov's. My experience was good. Food was fresh. Old time name for this kind of breakfast type nook - "Greasy Spoon" . Though nothing we had was like that. It was a comfy experience. Unique wall design, ATM was in view along with pictures and a "JWU" shadow box (see pix) that the server said was from/of his brothers.

Perfect place for a quick, inexpensive, and delicious diner meal! This place is pretty unassuming by the roadside but you only have to walk inside to get a classic diner feel. I grabbed a seat at the counter and ordered the breakfast pot pie (English muffin, corned beef hash, eggs, and sausage gravy with a side of home fries). Fast and friendly service and food was as good as it sounds! Looking forward to making this place my go-to breakfast spot.

Delicious food and excellent service. I was nervous based on the reviews but everyone was kind and super helpful. They have a wide variety of foods on their breakfast menu. My mom and I especially enjoyed their blueberry pancakes. It was an amazing little spot.

OV's may not be fancy, but holy smokes is it good. The coffee is always hot, servers are always attentive, and the regulars are always happy. I like to come here on weekday mornings and sit at the bar, watching the news and debating current events with the others there. Since OV's opens at five, it's the perfect option for when you wake up too early and your usual place isn't open. Yes, it's tucked away on Allens Ave., but no matter. Make the five-minute drive. This no-fuss diner has amazing omelettes but my current obsession is the breakfast pot pie - two biscuits with gravy and corned beef hash, topped with two eggs and cheese. Oh, and you get their amazing homefries, too. Get a coffee and you're still below ten bucks before tax - not too bad!

Strawberry, blueberry, mascarpone crepe! An OV's special

I think the people reviewing negatively have wayyyy too high of expectations from a small, family operated breakfast place. If you want food with "more flavor" or "prompt service", go downtown or IHOP where they'll give you shitty food in half the time. OV's is honestly my favorite breakfast place that I've been to in providence. Their pancakes, French toast, and waffles are simply awesome. I don't eat eggs so I have no opinion on them, but people I have gone with have said that their omelets and egg sandwiches are just as good! Also have gone there for lunch but only once or twice...and their burgers are very good. Being from jersey, I'm used to this diner style type of food and OV's does it well!!

They close online ordering when they're really busy. One of my friends refreshed their online ordering around 11am and saw they were allowing online orders, but by the time the 6th friend tried, it had closed back up. I placed my order for one sandwich at 11:05am and the expected pick up time was 12:12. I ordered their hash-it-out, added sausage, and subbed the spicy aioli for their maple one. The bolo bun has a subtle sweetness to it, so it felt like I was eating a healthier, higher-end McGriddle. Everything was perfect. One was definitely filling enough, but I can see people getting addicted.

The first time I didn't and just showed up to a line and had to wait about 20 minutes if I remember correctly for my breakfast burrito (after waiting in line to place my order). The second time I ordered in advance and tried the Sunday Sandwich. Both were delicious options I would happily get again. There are several other sandwiches I look forward to trying too. The seating inside is limited. When the weather is nice they also have small tables outside but those can also fill up quickly.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.

I was sold as soon as I read their menu and saw that they had a Halva latte. This is one of my favorites and I can only get it at cafes near Boston. If you haven't had it, it's a must try. Halva is a sweet confection that is sesame based. Brown Bee definitely delivered on this one. I hope it stays on the menu! My wife had a pistachio latte that is made with homemade pistachio syrup. It was 10/10. We didn't plan on eating, but we did end up getting one of their cinnamon rolls with a homemade cream cheese frosting. It was fantastic! They have plenty of seating and although we waited inline, there were several seats available and we got to enjoy our drinks and cinnamon roll. This place is worth the wait in line. We will be going back again this weekend. I want to try the everything croissant with cream cheese baked inside! We may also try one of their breakfast sandwiches. My only recommendation is that they add little chalk boards for each of the croissants with what they are as they had to keep telling everyone what each one was. Still a 10/10.
