I didn't think I was going to like it because it wasn't anything I would ever order. This place is serving top notch Italian food and has market items galore. It reminded me of weekends at my great aunt's house which is saying A LOT of good things! This is by far one of our favorite occasional weekend stops. The food is soooo delicious! The sandwiches made to order are #1 in my opinion. No matter what you get it's going to be fresh and authentic. I always stop by the grocery area where you can get the best olive oils , sauce and specialty items you can't find in local stores. Italian Kitchen is the kind of sandwich shop that you must stop by and try. The food is amazing. my choice today was the prosciutto and provolone. I added roasted red peppers. They put a house dressing on the roll that has a pesto/salty vibe and really enhances the flavor of the sandwich. Enough cannot be said about the roll! No words can express how amazing of an experience I just had. Beyond the awesome food, which has always been consistently good, the gentleman at the front.... unsure if he is the owner or not but he helped prevent a potential crisis with my kiddo. We had left after eating lunch and as we were driving away, my daughter realized she didn't have her small toy. It was accidentally thrown out. We turned around and had the expectation of digging through the garbage which I was fully prepared to do. When I mentioned to the gentleman at the front my plans, he didn't hesitate to grab a pair of gloves and dig in himself. He found it! I'd heard about this place and wanted to check it out. I got a turkey sandwich with mozzarella. All the sandwiches come with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, banana peppers and salsa verde. We were starving and looking for a quick lunch - we happened to see this spot pop up and decided to check it out. Omg. First, they have a bunch of cool Italian products on their shelves. It's almost like a little market. You can get your bread, cheese, pasta, meat, and condiments in once place. Second, the food. Holy moly. My mom got the veggie frittata and I got one of their main sandwiches and both were huge and packed full of flavor. Everything is made right there in front of you and super fresh. It was SO GOOD. Another person waits on you get your order and stop. Another person makes the sandwich another person the other end takes care of the Registers. You only have one person on the register. That's very nice. I was using my sandwich, passport coupon and I got what I guess I called classic Italian. The only we didn't get on. It was the hot peppers cause we don't eat hot stuff but I like just a regular old-fashioned Italian. It's very fresh very full lots of meat and vegetables. Definitely is well worth the price. This is by far my favorite sandwich shop in the area, so when I saw they were participating in the RI Food Fight's Best Sandwich competition, I was very willing to make the trek over the Washington Bridge. Ordered my long time favorite sandwich: The #16 which is the Combination. You can taste the high quality of the ingredients, and the freshly made rolls hold up and don't fall apart. Someone help me understand! Why can't a deli that serves salads and has cucumbers put them on a sandwich per request? The answer I got from the stubborn owner was because we don't! Politely but totally confused as to why I commented that I could see them so why would they refuse to serve them to a customer. I've driven by this unassuming spot for YEARS and today I decided to stop in. I was hankering for some soup to soothe a brewing cold and had my fingers crossed I'd find some. I definitely scored! The inside is huge with multiple coolers and deli cases with a huge variety of prepared foods, pasta, meats and cheeses and yes-soup! I took my time exploring and also noticed a sandwich board with one sandwich description looking better than the next. The staff was buzzing around prepping food and cleaning, but they were friendly and not too busy to take my order. I choose the Brasato sandwich which was described as a slow roasted beef sandwich...I was surprised that the meat was wonderfully rare and not the braised beef I expected. Generous portion on the small, with a simple lettuce and fresh tomato and herb topping. I also ordered a half gallon of the beef tortellini soup - the soup of the day. This stuff was amazing! Al denté cooked pasta in a robust chicken broth that was teeming with fresh flavors. The interior is bright, clean and spotless. I grabbed my order to go but there's plenty of seating to enjoy your eats. Glad I stopped in. These sandwiches are SO good. I honestly don't know if it's the bread, dressing, etc or what, but they are so good and yet seem so simple. I got both the Italian and pesto, both of which were delicious. Both of which were so delicious that even though I had the appetite for only 1 half, I loved both sandwiches so much that I finished them both. Wow. I was in Barrington all day and was really feeling a sub so started searching Yelp. I didn't order anything fancy - Small Caprese and a Diet Coke. I ordered ahead and it was almost ready when I got there - they are very busy so it really does take about 25-30 minutes for an online order. Can I say that I am still dreaming about their Salsa Verde?? 100% contemplating driving 45 minutes just to get a bowl of it. The sub was huge (what's a large??) and it was amazing. I never write reviews. Never. But I want to encourage people to patronize this absolutely great place. Every spring I teach in Providence one day a week and I call ahead to get my Soprano sandwich freshly made. When I arrive it is ready and I pick up a few other items: a chunk of Parmesan, pecorino, some olives, and a package of super fresh cantucci biscuits. Everyone who works there is a pro and they serve with a smile. The prices are fair and the quality of EVERYthing is excellent. I cannot recommend the Italian Corner enough. In the back is a large Deli Case filled with pasta, treats, and lots more. To the back left, you can order the sandwiches. I ordered the most popular one, which was also Guy Fieri's favorite, the Italian Brasato. The bread is not too soft and not too hard. The sandwich had tons of flavor with the roast beef and tomato salsa rossa. I only ate half and put the other half in the fridge. I ate it the next day and I swear it only made it better!
