Today, I got the classic Italian on toasted bread with mayo and it was perfect. I love this house made verde spread and the meat, lettuce and tomato are very fresh! Italian Kitchen is the kind of sandwich shop that you must stop by and try. The food is amazing. my choice today was the prosciutto and provolone. I added roasted red peppers. They put a house dressing on the roll that has a pesto/salty vibe and really enhances the flavor of the sandwich. Enough cannot be said about the roll! It is soft and fluffy and really makes the sub even better. The sandwiches are key but the place is loaded with food selections and you can buy meat and cheeses by the pound. I'd heard about this place and wanted to check it out. I got a turkey sandwich with mozzarella. All the sandwiches come with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, banana peppers and salsa verde. The sandwich was flavorful and the bread was soft and appeared to be freshly made. My only complaint was that they were a bit skimpy with the turkey and fillings. Beyond the awesome food, which has always been consistently good, the gentleman at the front.... unsure if he is the owner or not but he helped prevent a potential crisis with my kiddo. This is by far my favorite sandwich shop in the area, so when I saw they were participating in the RI Food Fight's Best Sandwich competition, I was very willing to make the trek over the Washington Bridge. Ordered my long time favorite sandwich: The #16 which is the Combination. You can taste the high quality of the ingredients, and the freshly made rolls hold up and don't fall apart. I took my time exploring and also noticed a sandwich board with one sandwich description looking better than the next. The staff was buzzing around prepping food and cleaning, but they were friendly and not too busy to take my order. I choose the Brasato sandwich which was described as a slow roasted beef sandwich...I was surprised that the meat was wonderfully rare and not the braised beef I expected. Generous portion on the small, with a simple lettuce and fresh tomato and herb topping. I also ordered a half gallon of the beef tortellini soup - the soup of the day. This stuff was amazing! Al denté cooked pasta in a robust chicken broth that was teeming with fresh flavors. The interior is bright, clean and spotless. I grabbed my order to go but there's plenty of seating to enjoy your eats. Glad I stopped in. Wow. I was in Barrington all day and was really feeling a sub so started searching Yelp. I didn't order anything fancy - Small Caprese and a Diet Coke. I ordered ahead and it was almost ready when I got there - they are very busy so it really does take about 25-30 minutes for an online order. Every spring I teach in Providence one day a week and I call ahead to get my Soprano sandwich freshly made. When I arrive it is ready and I pick up a few other items: a chunk of Parmesan, pecorino, some olives, and a package of super fresh cantucci biscuits. Parking is limited, but there were open spots when I arrived on a Friday afternoon. Inside is very spacious. They have a few tables for people who want to eat in. In the back is a large Deli Case filled with pasta, treats, and lots more. To the back left, you can order the sandwiches. I ordered the most popular one, which was also Guy Fieri's favorite, the Italian Brasato. The bread is not too soft and not too hard. The sandwich had tons of flavor with the roast beef and tomato salsa rossa. I only ate half and put the other half in the fridge. I ate it the next day and I swear it only made it better!
