    Burnt end rib

Small flavorless overpriced proportions. Three burnt ends and less than 10 barely meated ribs in a Large. The baby back were sour and very dry. Watery tasteless beans. Only 8 greasy chicken wings that came with 3 dehydrated thin celery sticks along with a disgusting dressing that can't be called 'blue cheese' because there were no chunks in the serving. They certainly didn't learn anything or care the same as the prior EH generation. Avoid and go elsewhere.

Baby back rib meat was tough. Store bought beans straight from a can. Slaw was unremarkable. Not a serious BBQ place.

So I did get the Brisket, and I also decided on a 1/2# of the Pulled Pork instead of the Ribs. I was underwhelmed with the Brisket, it was dry. Went back inside for some vinegar based sauce, the gentleman provided me some in a small cup. Although the sauce certainly did help flavor the Brisket, it was extremely spicy. BBQ, IMO, should not be spicy. The Pulled Pork was very good though, fresh & flavorful. I suspect that the Brisket was old, from yesterday, based on the lack of flavor compared to the fresh Pulled Pork (and that I had walked in just after Royster's had opened for business this morning). The Pitmaster knows what he is doing, he was just trying to cut corners. I've had plenty of BBQ when I lived in the South, the Pulled Pork was a good as any I had when I lived down there. There shouldn't be that much disparity between the quality of the meats. Disappointing, because it's hard to find real Q North of Mason-Dixon line. Inconsistent makes me ponder on whether I want to come back again a 2nd time. Maybe, maybe not. Now I'm indecisive, not good. So for now, I have to give Royster's BBQ Company in Cheshire a weak 3 Star rating. If I'm in the area and get a chance to drop in again, I'll post an update.

We are lucky they were there to guide us bc this place did not explain very much. We 5 were seated at a six pot booth with the grill in the center. If one person in your party wants to do bbq there is the $5 up charge for everyone so $40pp for food is your starting point. I asked for a margarita and they asked what liquor to put in, I said tequila lol....(it was a drink on the drink menu) they give you an iPad and as soon as you order your soup base the server will turn on the iPad and your 2 hr time limit starts so know what you're going to start with to order bf having her turn on the iPad which is where you will order all food going in your pots or on the grill. There is a spray on the table for the grill (another thing not mentioned) also you can help yourself to the sides bar, and order sides like French fries (which my daughter did) and it's included, there's also hoodsie cups of ice cream past the bar (they also don't mention this) silverware is available near the sides bar (also not mentioned) the seats at our six seater were in really bad shape but the rest of the lighting and bar decor is on the fancier shiny disco like side. Our waitress was very nice and changed the grill out for us. Since my mom doesn't eat much, and my husbands a vegetarian (which they did have tofu options) they really did not eat $40 of food but they enjoyed the experience. My daughter and her bf got their moneys worth in all the meats they cooked and ate. My husband and I are a one and done on this but I think my twenty something's would return for sure.

This was my first visit here. The staff was friendly and attentive…read more The food however was lacking. I ordered the baby back ribs with sides of corn bread and French fries. Ribs: not meaty at all what was there was not tender. The sauce was fine. Fries: I was told they cut the fries fresh themselves. That's believable however I don't think they were cooked to order. A bit soggy. Corn bread: was more like corn cake. I like cornbread with some texture. My friend had the ribs too with sides of corn and Cole slaw. Apparently those sides were pretty good. Four stars for the staff and two stars for the food.

I recently visited The Rib House in East Haven and had a bit of a mixed experience…read more First, I want to say that our server Jessica was very pleasant and attentive, and the service overall was great. The drinks were also pretty good. I'd give them about an 8 out of 10, so no complaints there. Where things became frustrating was with the Build Your Own burger pricing. The base burger (1/2 lb charbroiled beef) was $14.95, which seemed reasonable at first. However, I was surprised to see how quickly the price climbed once a few basic toppings were added. Here's how the burger ended up breaking down: Base burger: $14.95 Bacon: $6.00 Fried egg: $4.00 American cheese: $1.95 Mayo: $1.00 That brought the burger to $27.90 before tax, which is nearly double the base price for what most people would consider a fairly standard bacon, egg, and cheese burger. I understand charging for add-ons, but $6 for bacon and $4 for a fried egg feels excessive, and it was surprising to see the cost climb that high so quickly. Overall, the service was great and the drinks were solid, but the burger pricing left me pretty disappointed. It is safe to say that if I were to return to this restaurant, I would not be selecting a burger again.
