Delicious chicken. We stopped on for lunch, and both the regular size and mini plate were perfect for us. The chicken had so much flavor, the rice with sauce & seasoning was good. We even liked the side macaroni salad.

Incredible food Amazing service right in the heart of Cherokee! This area looks like it's a beach town and there's all kinds of cute shops. I got the chicken Katsu and it was so flavorful! The whole table was quiet while eating the tuna was amazing as well! It was authentic Hawaiian and I'll be back!

Loved my visit to the Rice Wagon! The food was excellent, service was prompt and friendly making it an overall great experience. We were able to have our dog on the patio with us as we were driving through. This will probably be a repeat stop for us when in the area, so excited to have found it.

The food was very salty. Pork was gamey and smelly. The service was very good. Cool music/vibe also.

Stopped here for lunch after staying the night in Cherokee. Definitely a locals place and I can see why - the food is delicious. I ordered the Shoyu Chicken mini plate and it was delicious. The chicken fell off the bone, was well marinated and the rice was coated in the sauce as well. I'm picky about my Hawaiian Mac salad and it was very good. We come to this town occasionally and I'd happily return for lunch!

I would've never expected to find such a wonderful Hawaiian restaurant in Cherokee, NC. The authenticity of the food was truly spectacular. I had the chicken Katsu sandwich with Mac salad and it brought me right back to being in Hawaii. We took friends who had never eaten Hawaiian food before and they were shocked at how good it was. We will definitely visit this restaurant the next time we're in Cherokee.

Best food we have had on our Smoky Mnt NP trip! Mixed plates just like in Hawaii! A must stop in Cherokee!

I LOVED my chicken katsu. Nicely breaded and cooked; the chicken was moist. The sauce was great. It got spicy after several bites. The Asian-inspired slaw was delicious -- lightly flavored purple cabbage. I want the recipe! And I want to go back. It's easily the best meal we've had in Cherokee. Spouse had the kalua pork, which he enjoyed (though he thought it was similar to NC pulled pork).

The food here was spot on! Delicious, fresh. I had Ahi Tuna and my husband loco moco. Don't miss out

We had to wait 40 minutes for our food because they ran out of cooked rice but its ok because the food was fire . I had the full plate of hurricane chicken and it came with mac salad and 2 scoops of rice. Just as good as some of the places i had on big island.

Shoyu Chicken and the Chicken Katsu

We were passing through Cherokee and decided to try the rice wagon. When we arrived, Peyton welcomed us, gave us her recommendations, and helped us order. The food was delicious. I was full before I ate half of my plate. My husband got some of the sauces from the chicken katsu to put on the shoyu chicken since he liked it so much. The environment was very clean and welcoming. It was a modern restaurant with outdoor seating available.

We ordered the Chicken Katsu and the Bankai Chicken Katsu. Both dishes were similar, with one served with macaroni salad, rice, and crispy chicken, while the other came with rice, furikake, chicken, and a fresh cabbage salad. The menu is simple, but every bite was packed with flavor. The service was outstanding. The young man working the food truck provided service that honestly rivaled what you'd expect at a full-service restaurant. He was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. The setting is another bonus. The food truck is tucked behind a brewery, making it the perfect place to grab a drink, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal in a quiet, laid-back atmosphere. Out of all the places we tried during our trip, this was some of the simplest food--but also some of the most flavorful. It proves that you don't need a huge menu to make memorable food. We 100% recommend Rice Wagon if you're in Bryson City. Great service, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere!

Collectively we ordered kalbi beef, ahi tuna, loco moco, and hurricane chicken. My kalbi beef was the best I have had outside of Hawai'i. It was on the salty side, but the meat was a good cut, not fatty at all. Mac salad was perfect. The chicken and tuna my friends had was good as well. The loco moco was a little disappointing. The gravy was lacking in flavor and the patty was overdone. We've all been fortunate to live on or visit O'ahu and Hawai'i island many times, so our expectations are high! That being said... would I go back? Absolutely. The people were kind and happy to make suggestions. The food truck was clean and well-kept. I just wish the seasoning for the kalbi beef and the loco moco would have been a little better!

We reluctantly ordered, against our better judgment, and I'll say up front that it was a mistake. Service was weird. The guy just stared at us with a blank expression. There was no greeting, small talk, or chitchat. I wasn't sure where to order, so I just walked back and forth around the counter, depending on where on the menu I was looking. He didn't make a peep until telling me the total. I've never had the silent treatment from someone on customer service before, lol. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen with Chashu Pork protein. The broth was lukewarm, flavorless, and didn't taste like any tonkatsu I've ever had. Was very disappointed. The egg was cold, and overly salty. It's as if they used preserved eggs, soaked them in soy sauce for years, then slated it again before adding it to the broth straight from the fridge. The other toppings didn't seem fresh at all. Half the bowl was spinach, but is wasn't fresh, and was extremely bitter. This is the first time I've ever seen spinach as a ramen ingredient, and it ruined this dish (note: I love spinach, but this was obviously bad). Overall, the did was bad. Nothing seemed to work together, and it seemed to be ill prepared. Lots of flying bugs, and with the majority the food open air... not gonna try the poke. We were the only customers during the entire lunch "rush". That was the final red flag that determines we will not return. I don't think this was an off-day, I think this place is just not good. Our experience was terrible.

I chose white rice as a base and then tuna, salmon and shrimp as proteins. The toppings all looked fresh and inspired (I recommend the squid salad). The dining experience took a left turn when we got to the sauce area. I asked for a LITTLE siracha aioli but the man assembling my bowl was trigger happy! I stood there, mortified, watching my bowl get doused in spicy Mayo. The image that came to my mind was an aerial view of the city of Pompeii being destroyed by a gush of lava as Mount Vesuvius suddenly erupted. I stood there, helplessly watching my delicious tuna get drowned in the thick orange substance. I shouted, "that's good!" But the sauce bottle kept getting squeezed in a circular motion over my bowl for at least an extra second (which is a lot in sauce time). All in all, I'd recommend it but please heed my warning, SAUCE ON THE SIDE!!!

My husband got the fried crab legs which we had never had before and I do not recommend them because it is very hard to get into the shells because the meat actually sticks to the sides. My husband's asparagus was not very good at all. It was very soggy the calamari we had. It would've been nice to know that it comes with fried jalapeños and carrots, which neither of us actually eat. We actually just wanted the calamari. My daughter had the king crab legs, which were very good and she ate everything.. My platter was the steamed platter with crab legs, and it was very good. I ate everything. My Caesar salad was not very good at all. any dressing on the lettuce. It would be better if the Caesar salad actually had a lot of Caesar. And for the price that you pay for all three of us to eat was extremely expensive even though we were getting seafood. I understand the price was a hefty tag, but you would expect better. They did knock it out of the park for my daughter's 17th birthday, where they embarrassed her highly lol calling her out front in front of everyone. and our waitress was absolutely wonderful, but it would've been nice for her to have help. The inside of the restaurant is very unique.
