Husband got the Orange Creamsicle which tasted very much like a Sunkist in the best way. We saw another table get a flight which could have been fun too. It was an odd time of day, not lunch or dinner so we ordered some things to share: buffalo chicken flatbread was the clear winner. Perfect level of heat, not oily or too cheesy like you'll sometimes get, and the flatbread was so good: crunchy on the bottom and a good chew. Wedge salad was also very good. Fried pickles were okay, we both agreed if the slices were thinner the chips would have had better crunch. Service was very attentive and our waiter offered recommendations. Only minor quibbles kept this from 5 stars: when we got our food the waiter asked if we needed anything else and offered ranch for the pickles, we accepted, but then on the bill there was a 75 cent charge for the ranch, not a big deal but annoying since he offered it. Everything here was... adequate...average. Definitely not amazing but not horrible either. The wedge salad was a bit watery, bacon pieces should've been bigger and blue cheese was of lower quality. It wouldn't take much to make an OK salad into something really good. The buffalo chicken flatbread was OK. I did like the crust. There was very little chicken on it and for $15, they could have used a bit more. Reading the past reviews, there seems to be regular issues with people sharing, even if they're ordering the same amount of entrées as people. While we weren't charged like other people, we had an odd experience with getting plates to share entrees. When we were served our lunch, we asked for two plates so we could share. We were first offered two tiny ones, like the size of a saucer that would go under a coffee cup. we asked for larger ones so we could split the entrées and eat on our separate plates but was only brought one. We gave up then but it was strange like no one's ever wanted to share food before? All in all it was fine. We came to Bryson for my wife's birthday. Booked a train ride (that was really fun) for Friday. We arrived in Bryson and wanted a late lunch. Saw this place and stopped in. There weren't that many people in there but they were cramming everyone in the corner all together. My wife asked if we could sit where there's more space and the hostess reluctantly accommodated us. Then our waitress came up to get our drink order & her entire demeanor was saying she hated being there. I get people have bad days & figured maybe that was hers. Then we ordered food and my wife got one of their beers. She really loved the beer but the food was not even close to what I would call good! Definitely like bar food. Just there to offer something while you drink. That might be acceptable if the total wasn't $63 for the two of us!!! The waitress completely forgot about us. We had to ask other workers for refills. The food I ordered was a BBQ chicken salad. Everything was cold, even the chicken that I felt should have been hot. My wife ordered meat loaf & it tasted like wet paper. I want to warn other families about an unexpected charge we received at Native Tap and Brews. Our child split an adult meal with us, and we were charged an additional $3 "Split it Fee." There were no extras provided, no separate plates prepared ahead of time, and we did not share drinks. The server simply brought the meal and we shared it with our child. When we questioned the charge, our server told us it was "above her pay grade," even though the fee had to be manually selected and added to the bill. This is not about the $3. It's about the principle. Parents should be able to share their meal with their child without being charged an unexpected fee for doing so. If we had been told upfront that there would be a $3 charge simply for sharing our meal with our child, we would have ordered a separate meal instead. We enjoyed our visit otherwise, but this unexpected charge and the way it was handled left a bad impression. JUST BUY THE FRIES... My wife, daughter and I went there out of what we thought was necessity. At 3 pm not many places were open for eating. I ordered a $19 burger and they didn't even ask me what temperature burger I wanted. At $19, it should be a customized experience. What I thought would be a juicy burger turned out to be almost shoe leather. My wife was suspicious of their culinary skills and played it safe with plain wings with sauce in the side. She's thinking how could they screw that up. Another failure. They didn't even season those wings prior to frying them. I guess "plain" wings really meant "plain" wings. So many issues. First we came in with a party of 12. We were told they could not seat us together so were seated at 2 separate tables apart from each other, with 2 separate servers and were given 2 separate checks, so basically we were 2 parties of 6. No problem. When the bill came we were charged a 20% fee for parties of 8 or more. Why? Because we walked in together? Before that, our appetizers came way after our entrees and only after we asked about them. They didn't end up being eaten, but we paid for them. Next my daughter ordered a plate of chicken tenders and an appetizer. She and her boyfriend split the tenders, no extra plate was brought, and the bill came with a $3 split plate fee. They didn't even finish the tenders because they were rubbery. Their server stood in the back chatting and never came back to refill drinks. My niece had to get up from the table and go to the back to ask for refills. The food was actually good. However, there were not that many people in the place to have to wait over an hour for our food. I tried to get the waiters attention several times. I guess I was invisible. Waiter never refilled my water, he never checked on us during our hour wait time, and I never saw him helping anyone else. By the time we got our food, the fries were cold and the hamburgers were mildly warm. If you want a burger, you can only get fries or chips as a side. They do have other sides if you want to add another $7 + to your order. Food is extremely over priced. Many people came in after us and left before we did and we had a baby with us. Thank goodness she was good. Probably not a revisit and my daughter just moved to the area. So, there's that. read more

First time at this location, everything was fantastic. We've eaten at the Cherokee location many many times and they've brought the same level of service and food quality to this new location. We had a party of four adults and three children and everyone enjoyed their meals. The menu is not too large nor to small, very creative dishes. Seriously disappointed in Native Brews! The food is good for sure and portions are great. My complaint is that when ordering dinner I casually said to the waitress we would like the bruschetta and the chicken pot pie, she asked anything else? I replied no we are just going to share all that. Our food was brought to us. Bruschetta with two plates and then the chicken pot pie with two spoons in it and an extra bowl. I thought well that was nice. I get the bill and I WAS CHARGED $3 for that bowl and spoon. The charge was labeled SPLIT CHRAGE. Now normally when being charged for a SPLIT .. the entree is actually split and sometimes a little extra fries or such. I have been to Native Brews many times as I live in Bryson City and have ordered the Southwestern Salad and told the waitress that we were splitting the salad as we had ordered wings too.. And I have never been charged for the extra bowl or fork. No I didn't complain and didn't realize the charge until after I gave the waitress my card. Service was great, but food was less than desirable. 2 of us had some version of chicken tenders (salad or sandwich) both were dry. My brother had the riblets which had very little meat on them. The fried deviled eggs were essentially overcooked and battered hard boiled eggs. And to top it off this was such an expensive meal to not have been very good. We went into the bar to have a drink before sitting down to dinner. My husband had a beer and I ordered a glass of wine. When the wine (which was described on the menu as a blend of Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc) arrived it was an orange-ish color which immediately made me wonder what was up as both Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc are a more clear or pale straw color. On the first sip I immediately got old, sweet (rancid?) and immediately said to the bartender - "oh this wine is bad". She said "oh it's a sweeter wine since it's from North Carolina" - and I told her "I think there's something wrong with it". She sat the wine behind the bar and I ordered a cocktail. The bartender brought a check for the beer and the cocktail and we gave them our credit card. Once the bartender was ringing it up a manager came over and said "if you taste a glass of wine in NC you have to pay for it - it's the law here" and they then added the charge to our tab. We googled and found out they legally cannot "discount" a drink but it is a manager's decision to pick up the tab for a drink that is not good. We were planning to stay and eat dinner there but we left and went somewhere else because this seemed very not cool. So just buyer beware. read more
