During my visit to Gatlinburg, Tn I decided to have dinner at Bubba Gump, mainly because I'm a big fan of Forrest Gump and have watched the movie many times. We arrived around 7:00 pm and the restaurant was quite busy. While waiting for our table, we explored the gift shop located downstairs, which has a great selection of themed items and really sets the Forrest Gump vibe from the start. Once seated our waiter Jerry took our order. My companion ordered the shrimp ceviche, which was delicious and tasted very fresh. I ordered the BBQ pork ribs, and they were excellent very tender, full of flavor, and well served with fries. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was fast and efficient The place is filled with Forrest Gump memorabilia, making the atmosphere fun and immersive. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. Good food, great theme, quick service, and reasonable prices. A solid option if you're visiting Gatlinburg, especially if you're a Forrest Gump fan. read more

My favorite movie is Forrest Gump so I never turn down a trip to Bubba Gump's! I had and enjoy mama's blue shrimp gumbo, which was a good sized portion. Our server was helpful and quick to come to the table when we needed things such as refills. There was a spilled drink on the floor when we were seated that never got cleaned up but that was the only down side of our visit. Good food, service and love all the decor! read more

Overall experience was very poor. I would like to start with the customer service being the highlight of the experience all the staff was kind and respectful; however, you could tell they have just adapted to the environment of what they can not control. Food was not seasoned and came out warm / cold. The space was full of what I believe to be "fruit flies" very distracting while trying to eat. The food was amazing as always, but what truly made our visit stand out was our server, Victor. He was incredibly personable, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. He gladly recommended some of his favorite menu items, checked in often, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. What impressed us most was how patient and kind he was with our four-year-old while ordering. He made the experience fun and stress-free for our family. Tourist Trap. Bubba would not be happy. Waitress was okay. Booth was kind of small, but at least it looked and felt clean. The food was less than mediocre and overpriced. Started with the $25 Run Across America Sampler which was basically a scam. They serve you a handful of fried shrimp, a couple wet hush pups, dry-ass chicken NUGGETS (not TENDERS like the menu says), cheese sauce from a can, and the rest of the plate fluffed up and filled with some cheap little tortilla chips to make it look like you got a lot. Main course was the Crab & Shrimp Rolls, which was another $25...what a letdown. Didn't even finish it because it was just so underwhelming. Almost like a bland, store-bought crab salad with a couple boiled shrimp thrown in. And the $24 Jambalaya!? I didn't even have to taste it. Just looked at it and knew it was wrong. read more

This restaurant is nice and cool for a touristy restaurant. It's based on the movie of course: they have cool little trivia that they give out while you're eating to pass the time. It's fun. If your ever in town and like seafood this would be a good place to try out. I had the salmon bourbon. It was delicious, the rice on the other hand was bland, but it's white rice, I never have high hopes for it. The calamari was good as well. The portions were good. But the bourbon glaze was more heavy on the bourbon than being a glaze. I mean if that's your jam then this is your plate. I guess I expected it to be thicker glaze and not so watered down. Maybe needed to be cooked down a little more. I will try other plates next time. I've been here a couple of times already. The service is fast and the staff is super friendly. Our server was fast and ready to offer up ideas for dinner. Maybe try the fish and chips next time of the steak. In town for a week and I'm trying out new places for dinner. read more

Been to a couple of different Bubba Gumps and this one didn't disappoint. Our waiter Steven was top notch. He kept our drink's filled had some great suggestions and was very attentive to us while still checking and keeping up with all his other tables. I had the shrimp feast and my wife had the coconut shrimp. We also tried the shrimp Mac and cheese and it was very tasty. Thank you for an amazing meal. read more

Our waitress got us our drinks and appetizers and then was given a table of 12 people which immediately dominated her time to the point where we were ignored for about 25 minutes. We went to the hostess to ask for help for the waitress as she was obviously overwhelmed. After another 10 minutes, nothing. We gave enough money to the hostess to cover our drinks and appetizers. We always go here whenever we visit Great Smokey Mountains. Although they are busy, we always have good food and attentive service here. Food was served fast too. First time eating here. Arrived around 4:30pm on Saturday which was also Labor Day weekend. No wait at all. The petite steak and stuffed shrimp was absolutely delicious. The second best steak I've ever eaten in my life. My wife's chicken linguine was also really good. The Bloody Mary was really really good. We arrived and were greeted in a very friendly manner which was a very good first impression. There were signs and references to forest gump all over the place. My family bought the bucket that had the shrimp, lobster sauce tail, fries, and fish. The fish was the best part. The shrimp were frozen and pre breaded before frying which takes away all of the good flavor. The fries were sub optimal and easily comparable to McDonald's soggy French fries. The lobster tail was good it tasted like a lobster so no complaints. Over all, not worth the 65$ the bucket costs. read more

Took the wife here since she never had Bubba Gump before, got right in with no reservations, got my drink wrong, but no big deal. Food came out in a reasonable time. Presentation was great, steaks were cooked perfect. Food tasted very good, except for the hair mixed into the mashed potatoes. Its sad service is not what it was 20 years ago. Well we almost got seated right away there were 6 of us ...5 of us were present when we got there one dad was parking the car in the lot...we were at a dance competition and got there before anyone else we made a reservation . Well they wouldn't seat us because ALL 6 weren't there! We had to wait . Within 5 minutes all the people got there from leaving the convention center we than had to wait 20 mins for a table. Than when they did seat us they took us to the top floor on a room seperate from the place overlooking the Main Street...now it was 90 degrees outside and humid IN this room it was 80 when the waiter came with drinks they had to open the windows...our table...directly in the sun NO shades or blinds on the window. Food came the pasta was stiff drinks were to sweet barely could drink it but with the sun beating on us the frozen drink was a relief . Than we gave the waitress 2 credit cards to split the bill she ran the whole tab ($305.00) on just the one, NEVER have this problem in NY Bubba Gump. Guess the people in the Hills of Tenn don't get the whole Restaurant business. Def will not be going back to Bubbas in Tenn. read more

An iconic restaurant if you're older and remember the classic movie! I kept waiting for Forest to show up around the corner. I am very torn on this review however. The staff members we spoke with were all very nice and friendly. Food was fantastic. My only issue is the slight bait and switch they try with the 20oz beer & free glass. I decided to order one for the free glass. It is a $13 purchase and I was informed that they might be out of that glass pictured but they would substitute for another glass. Turned out they substituted it for a cheap plastic cup and tried to charge me extra for it. I refused and said I would just pay for the beer and they could keep the cheap cup. If you go just get a beer the cup is not worth the price. They really need to stop promoting this and certainly not charge extra. read more

There were tons of people working, but our waitress was not really at our table much and had such a passive aggressive vibe, like she hated being there. My wife and I are pretty young, and maybe that's why she acted that way? Not sure, but it really shouldn't matter. If you want good food, definitely check this place out.
